These skits Gilbert did on the Leno Show dressing as movie characters in the mid 2000's were gold! The first 2 seconds of Gilbert as Yoda "Here I am!" Legend.. RIP.
This is another great act of charity. I respect your public service N sans. Millions of people around the world have had to sit through Jay Leno's non sense, and although the number was small you have saved a lot of people from the suffering. Thank you for the time stamp sir or madam you are the real MVP.
Man there's a clip I've been trying to find for ages where Gilbert appeared as an Egyptian because some new discovery was opened and Leno asked what the curse of the pharaoh was and it cuts to Gilbert just screaming SON OF A BITCH!
Not that this helps at all but.... here's Gilbert's patented "SOAB!" whilst playing Harry Potter: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Ib6jAtmdHxI.html
Hard to believe this skit is now 15 yrs old. I'm a few days late, but Wednesday was the 15th anniversary of this skit. It came out the night after Revenge of the Sith opened. 9:59 It's ironic the idea of a TV show was brought up. A little over 3 yrs later, the Clone Wars TV show started airing on Cartoon Network.
Gilbert’s ability to laugh at his own cue card reading fail and then expound on it... those kind of moments are where his best stuff always showed itself. When he went rogue about the failings of the skits/shows he was currently participating in. No one did that stuff funnier or better.
Same with me. I grew up with him and late night hasn't been the same since he left. I treasure the Headlines segments I recorded during the late 2000s.
I haven't seen the Tonight Show in decades,, and it's funny, now that I've tuned in again, it into decades old shows. Does anyone even watch the modern version of the Tonight Show?
am i the only one who remembers these clips being more crisp and clear? why is it when we see something older that 10 years it looks faded and distorted?
It's because HD continues to evolve and we're use to the new versions of it. That's why stuff from the early 2010s looks like it's from the mid-2000s and stuff from the mid-2000s looks like it's from the late 90s.
Gilbert saved that monologue. I remember even as a kid jumping over to Letterman. Dry as toast but at least he had wit. Only thing Leno was good for was reminding me Conan wasn’t up yet.
