I could listen to the song 100 times, and then wake up in the morning and listen to it again and have to choke back tears. The music is very uplifting, in order to remind everyone life is good and no matter happens we are blessed. Also within an 18 month period from Oct 2105, mom died , dad died, sisters and step mom turned on me, lost job and 1 week later the woman who had me convinced i was her god, and was with me throughout all this disappeared without rhym or reason. I understand this song, but life is good and I feel blessed. Alone again, Naturally- except for my dog , my best friend.

Thank you for playing this. I've been listening to it for many many years whenever I feel life is to hard to go on I was 10 years old when my father died. 26 when my mother died. 36 when my sister died. 46 when my brother died. My other brother died just 2 years ago. I've been through 3 divorces. And I recently lost my Son to an overdose of drugs. No one even knew he was using. Yesterday was his birthday. So I'm feeling very sad and needed to hear this again. I would be so grateful if you would Play To Where You Are . by Josh Groban. Thank you again💔

Please react to Gilbert's beautiful, sweet song "Claire." Claire was the little daughter of O'Sullivan's manager (or producer, I forget which) for whom Gilbert O'Sullivan wrote the song. Gilbert would often babysit her for her Dad, and they formed a sweet bond of friendship. Sadly, many people of today's overly-suspicious mindset have condemned the song and Gilbert as "creepy" or worse, not understanding the context nor the time period in which it was written (I'm 65 and remember it quite well). But, in reality, that was not the case between them. It was a wholesome relationship, as Claire herself has publicly stated in her defense of her long-time friend. The video you should react to of him singing "Claire" has actual outdoor home-film footage (filmed by her Dad, I believe) in which Gilbert and Claire are having fun outside, chasing each other around the yard, jumping on a trampoline, etc. Endearing scenes and an equally charming song!

Great song that I hadn't heard in a really long time, but one that I always loved. He pulled a 'Radiohead' on this one for sure: kind of happy mellow music, soul-crushingly sad lyrics! If you want to see what I mean, listen to 'No Surprises' or 'Knives Out' by Radiohead sometime. The only other Gilbert O'Sullivan songs I remember are 'Claire' and 'Get Down'. 'Get Down' is a fun upbeat song, whereas 'Claire' was a nice ballad. Thanks for posting! Be well, stay safe. Peace from SF

Unless you've heard this song before, and know before hand that it's a very sad song, you would definitely be in for a shock. Partly because the tune is upbeat, and almost bounces along. But when you stop to actually hear the words...yeah. Whoever the song was about had DEFINITELY suffered some major heart ache in his young life. Unfortunately, that IS life; it happens all too often to so many people. I've always like this song, despite it's sad demeanor. If I haven't said it before, Jayvonne, let me say it now; I appreciate it SO MUCH that you really DO listen to the words of these songs. Most people just skim over and only hear every few words throughout. But you really do listen, and it shows in your reaction. We saw, immediately, in your face when he said that he had thought about jumping from that "nearby tower." You feel things very deeply through the song, and that's so awesome. That's the reason we enjoy your channel so much. It's so great to see the expression on someone's face for that very reason. Another GREAT reaction. Take care.

I've thought to recommend that same song to Jay, a while back, but my stuff is normally out voted, or so it seems. I hope he reacts to that song, for you know his expressions, will..... TELL ALL, from listening to the words in which she sings, from her life as a young girl.

A song as rare as a 30 karat diamond. It transcends the world of commercial music. Money. Girls shouting in the audience. Grammy Awards. And all the hoopla of celebrity. It has the sincerity and power of feeling of a great lyric poem from a poet like Keats. And, Jayvee, you got it immediately. I watched your face as you connected as the song unfolded.

The fact that you say honesty is kind of funny considering he made this story up for this song. The song is beautiful and he is talented, but is it totally necessary to shit on newer music just to elevate older music? There's a lot of amazing and talented new artists out there that are heavily inspired by older artists. Just because you haven't heard them on the radio, doesn't mean they don't exist.

"Alone Again (Naturally)" is an introspective ballad, starting with the singer contemplating suicide after being left at the altar after his bride deserted him, and then telling about the death of his parents. O'Sullivan has said that the song is not autobiographical, as he did not know his father (who died when O'Sullivan was 11) very well, and that his father had mistreated his mother. Also, his mother was still alive when the song was written.

I remember hearing this on AM radio when it first came out, I was 9, and it was so sad, but as an adult I found out that he just made up the lyrics for the effect. His Mother was still alive and His Father left both of them when He was young. In an interview, He talks about it, and comments that as a singer/songwriter it's his job to evoke emotion, and let each person experience the lyrics for themselves.
