I shave with a straight razor on weekdays and a safety razor on weekends. I have both types in my collection and I like having a chance to use them all. When I travel, I bring a straight razor.
I use a safety razor and binge the straight razor on occasion. Fitting in learning to hone has me wanting to use straight razors more as well. I've been getting some massages, and it helps with my bulging disc in the neck. That makes it easier to tilt head back to get the neck
As you know, I use a variety of DE, SE, Shavette and straights. But, as I spend a lot of my life travelling. I tend to use DE and SE mostly. I do sometimes take a Feather AC or Weck with me.
Hi Johan, thanks for the video. I was also unsuccessful in my search for Black Moss. I will write to Alesia and ask. I use DE when I'm stressed and short on time, thanks to you I'm hooked on the Weck/Kismet combo and I love shaving with straight razors, which are my main interest, but I'm often not happy with my honing, especially compared to Weck/Kismet or my Muhle R41 - work in progress I suppose. Have a good start in the new week and thanks for the good mood you create and the wise ending today.
Thanks a lot Jan. Much appreciated. Yeah, I think one good advise for getting happy with your honing is to not use the Weck/Kismet combo - nothing beats that. Another good thing with the Wecks is that they teach you how to shave properly. You cannot cheat!
Hi Johan, straights when I'm playing with stones, but the weck mostly. Haven't used a DE in a long time. I ment to comment on your last video to let you know that I'm still watching! And that I have some Sukin products put aside for you. I'll get a few more things together and email you. Take it easy mate.
Hi, Johan. Nice shave today. The Gillette Tech is a good choice for any beginner. The aggressiveness is really determined by the choice of the blade or the number of shaves on the blade. Good luck and be safe.
Good morning. I have never used a straight or shavette and don’t plan to. I use a safety razor on my face and the Leaf on my head. Occasionally I’ll use a safety razor on my head, but with the ease of the Leaf it isn’t often.
You have it figured out and that's great. Most of the rest of us are still trying to figure things out. I have yet to find something that beats a Leaf on the head.
Nice shave Johan! Man I'm behind on your videos lol 😅 Answer to your question: I use DE, all the types of SEs (AC, GEM, half DE, injectors), and shavettes. I don't have a Weck mainly because it's hard to get Kismet blades here, no carts, no straights (yet lol), and no electric for shaving. I still use the trimmers on my old electric razor for my sideburns, but I haven't used it to shave my face since I started traditional shaving around 7 years ago. Were you talking about your new electric car that needs repairing? If so, I would be pretty mad. Have a good one! Steve
@@Shave_n_Butcher It's like a shavette ,very light weight with a half DE blade . Most Turkish barbers use them to shave their clients face and head. Watch Barber T on RU-vid.😎
That Gillette English flat-bottomed Tech is a great little razor. That one, and the Gillette NEW short comb, are very simple designs that have just the right balance of safety and efficiency IMO.
A combination of all Straight, Shavette, DE, SE. The only type I never got in tune with are GEMs never was able to get a decent shave no matter the razor or the blade.
I'm glad you were smart enough to realize you need to get someone else to fix the suspension. It is not something you would want to deal with. Struts are not fun
My wife seems to be of the opinion that men should be able to do everything, be that mechanical, construction, electrical, or otherwise. When the same thing happened to our car, I told her " I can do it, but I wouldn't want to drive it afterwards "😅
Nice vid, razor looks OK"ish (bit of plate loss); I don't have that model from England, but the "pre war/war" models from USA are OK, on the mild side. I don't know what to say about the suspension spring.....did she drive in a Hughe pot hole??? (my ex used to hit every curb....I called her "curb-rider"). Probably a spring sourced from china? Not sure, but many UK and Swedish cars are now either Tata/India or China owned......forgetaboutit..... My Bro has a Volvo (I called his Chinese rattler) and my buddy had a Jaguar, Indian lemon....that the wife totaled... Honda Japan, hard to beat.....Toyota also OK.....that is as far as I will go......mine in the wicked norther USA weather survived...., not sure I rinsed the caked snow/sand/salt when it accumulated or just kicked it off....... Well I remember in MN I used to take it to the car wash frequently, with the under car wash and treatment.....(was either free or $1.99) with a full tank......25 years ago.....I also had hairr back then.....and it was dark. Cheers.....I am dreading today (chores) and the whole week. Have to fix a bunch of stuff.....
Just be happy for as long as they rely on you to fix things. When they don't, you're in trouble. I think Volvos are boring cars (in spite of the fact that they make them in my town, but most people I talk to think Volvos got better after the Chinese bought them. How weird is that?
Is the Black Moss scent anything like Benjamin Barber's Oak Moss? You may have used a washing-up liquid or detergent - not soap based. A safety razor is called ‘safety’ because it's safer to handle than a straight razor. I shave with safetly razors only: it's all that hullabaloo with straights: honing, stropping befaor, stropping after, cleaning and prepping strops. Much more convenient just to change a standard issue blade. (Maybe a shavette sown the line, perhaps?) I come here for the joke, the company, the corrections but most importantly to make up the numbers...
