Here is a treat for anyone curious about how the Bible intersects with Akkadian history. Gilgamesh calls himself a great king. After watching this video - do you think he was a great king? Leave a comment! Here is the story and the people in the Bible who were alive at the same time. We have come so far, but as the music plays... We are so close and so far away... History just keeps repeating itself. That is why my project is called "The Periodic Table of History." I hope this video "Gilgamesh and the Bible" inspires us all to strive for the best in ourselves and our actions towards others. Be inspired; be energized. Live life to the fullest. In two days tomorrow will be yesterday.

In answer to your questions on Noah: The ancient Greeks called him Kronos, from which we get the word 'clock' and 'chronology' from. This well describes a man who lived about 500 years before the flood of 3519 to 3520 BC (hold on! I'll explain!) and lived better than 300 years after that flood. Noah could have known Terah, Abrahams' father. Noah/Kronos was the father of both the Titans-the direct descendants of Shem and Japheth and the Olympians-the direct descendants of Ham. Nimrod was Narmer who was later called Braham in India, Tammuz and Baal in the Persian Gulf region and was the first Pharoah of Egypt and the one who united the northern half to the delta (city/states of Mizraim) by force and became known as Ra in the 2nd kingdom period of Egypt. Much later Nimrod was called Thor by the Greeks from the Nordic tradition. Before the war broke out between the gods, the clash between the Olympians and the Titans, fought primarily in India, during the life of Abraham, Noah had moved to the Island of Crete. This is about 3100 BC. As for my chronology, brace yourself, everything will work out. I Kings 6:1 reads 480 years between the Exodus and the beginning of Solomon's Temple. We know that this can not be correct. You can (I have) read from the beginning to Solomon's Temple foundation in the Bible and can account for more than 600 years given to us outright with two locations where there appears to be a major gap in time. STOP! The 480 years are good numbers, they came out of the translation that happened during the Babylonian captivity but they appear to be good. However, we know that there is more than 480 years between the Exodus and Solomon's Temple foundation. It actually looks like we have a missing book of Judges. You know Usher knew that the 480 years of I KINGS 6:1 was not correct but still used its face value! Adam is made 5594 BC Using the Septuagint from Adam to the flood. It doesn't matter at the flood which text you go by chronologically though most Old Testament quotes in the New Testament come from the Septuagint text. The Septuagint version borrowed the 480 years from the Hebrew/Chaldee version that again, was produced during the Babylonian captivity. The Flood is 3519 to 3520 BC, Noah and family were in the ark for 1 year and 10 days (See Noah's age given in the Bible) though it took years for the waters to drain off. The Ark beached on the Ararat (Highest Peak) of the Kush Mountains (named after Cush, son of Ham, son of Noah). The modern day mountain top called Ararat southeast of Turkey hasn't been called 'Ararat' for much more than 1000 years now! Sure has brought in the tourists. The first United Kingdom of Egypt began about 3200 BC and ended in the Exodus that happened in 2447 BC. Most Egyptologists add an additional 300 plus years of total silence that followed the Exodus in closing the first Kingdom Period of Egypt. The Royal House of Egypt left by ship and settled on Crete and renamed it, "The Island of Atlas" (another name for Nimrod) and became known as Atlantis. 900 before Plato (not 9000 years) a volcanic eruption destroyed the northern face of Atlantis, that was an island hopping away from their land port, Greece. The were the "Sea Peoples" dominating the Mediterranean. Actually, for much of this to even make sense to you after all you have gone through is to locate the Garden of Eden and begin the story from there. Maybe another time. NOTICE: You can not add nor subtract 1000 years of history in any chronology and not have a lot of problems. You have already studied through a lot of those problems. You have tried to make sense of it all. Now make the correction in I Kings 6:1 to 1,480 years and watch ancient history agree, from the Indus Valley ("they came from the east unto a pain in Shinar"), the Persian Gulf region and to the north, westward into Arabia, Egypt and across Africa. All the chronologies agree. Now, care to go back to Eden?
@stevebishop7055
@stevebishop7055 Год назад
The location for the Garden of Eden was given AFTER the flood and well AFTER the life of Peleg, "when the earth was divided," the initiation of the continental drift, recorded in ancient records of Babylon and Abydos Egypt and should not be a problem locating even today. We obviously don't have four major rivers originating from one source in the Persian Gulf region nor to the north of that area. Nothing matching the description given in the Bible matches what the modern day teachings present today. There is only one location that meets the description for Eden in all of Asia and it is not near the Persian Gulf region. When Nebuchadnezzar had the Hanging Gardens built for his wife and said, that they were "like unto the Garden of God," he did not say that they were the Garden of God. And just because he even named some of the rivers to their north after the rivers of Eden, they were not the same rivers. Some of the name similarities should stand out. The Pison called the High Indus (not the Tigris) now called the Pamir was the main river flowing from the Pamir Plateau north of the Kush Mountains. The first branch of that river goes eastward away from ancient Assyria who were settled south of and in the mountains to the east of the Ariel Sea. This first branch that went eastward and is biblically called the Hiddekel but now is called the Kaxgar River flowing to Kashgar (west central China), the ancient land of Nod. The Pison/High Indus/Pamir River flows westward and southward. The Pison breaks up into two more major rivers as it heads for Kabul Afganistan before dropping down into the Indus Valley. Kabul was the first city after the flood then called Olympus, named after Havala's wife where Cush/Zeus reigned until his son Nimrod took the throne and relocated it first to Babel then after the confusion to the mouth of the Nile River. One of the major branches from the Pison is the Jaxartes (not the Euphrates) and the other is the Dighon (also Oxyus) not the Gihon. These two river use to dump into the the Ariel Sea, the deepest hole of a fresh water inland sea that covered Kazakhstan before the flood. This inland sea broke through the Tian Shan Mountains and contributed to this flood that is recorded in Chinese mythology. This isn't something new! Maybe we should actually back up to Adam himself, the first natural life form on the planet earth made on the 3rd day of creation after the dry land appears but "BEFORE" there is any vegetation on the planet. Gen. 1+2. Don't get lost in the mist!

(03 December 2023) It is my understanding that BEHIND Genesis 1-11 are portions of events appearing in the Epic of Gilgamesh, which have been recast. One such event is the global flood, called Noah's Flood, in the Bible. The flood hero in the Epic of Gilgamesh is called Utnapishtim. While at the city of Shuruppak, on the Euphrates river, in modern day Iraq, Utnapishtim is warned by his god, E-A, to build a boat and stock it with the seed of man and beast for post-flood RESTORATION of life after the global flood. Archaeologists in the 1930's excavated Shuruppak (today called Tell Fara) and found it had been flooded around 2900 BC by the Euphrates river. However the flood silts did not extend beyond the city to other cities. The city was quickly resettled, pottery being found on top of the flood silts. By 2000 BC the city had been destroyed by its enemies and abandoned. So Shurrupak existed from circa 3000 BC to circa 2000 BC. The archaeologists had found the flood silt evidence behind the whole earth being flooded in the Epic of Gilgamesh, It was a greatly exaggerated and embellished tall tale, there never was a global flood, only a local flood! The author of Genesis apparently accepted as true, the notion of a global flood as recounted in the Epic of Gilgamesh! Jesus, too, had accepted the notion of a global flood in Noah's day, and he makes mention of it in the New Testament. It is my understanding that BEHIND Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden, is a recast Enkidu and Shamhat in the Epic of Gilgamesh. Shamhat's task, is to seduce Enkidu, then replace his animal companions with herself, and convince him to leave the wild steppe land called EDIN in which he roams with wild Bulls and Antelope, and come with her for a better life in Uruk, where lives Gilgamesh, who will become his bosom buddy. Edin is a Sumerian word, for "wilderness," whereas Hebrew EDEN means "DELIGHT." Apparently via _homonynm_ confusion, two words that sound alike, EDIN and EDEN, a wild, forlorn "WILDERNESS" became a place of "DELIGHT" for Adam and Eve? Enkidu is described as being a wild, naked, hairy animal, whose companions are naked, hairy, wild Bulls and Antelope. Enkidu eats grass with his animal companions, and laps water in the EDIN'S watering holes. Enkidu's animal companions abandon him when he attempts to rejoin after having had sex with Shamhat at EDIN'S watering hole. Gilgamesh predicted this would happen! So, rejected by his naked, hairy companions, Enkidu then accepts Shamhat as his new companion. She convinces him to leave the steppe-wilderness of EDIN and come with her, to live at Ururk and meet Gilgamesh. Before leaving EDIN, Shamhat shares her clothes with a naked, hairy, Enkidu. Then and there, Enkidu realizes IT IS WRONG TO BE NAKED IN THE EDIN. His former animal companions did not wear clothing and neither did he. He accepts Shamhat's articles of clothes and the two of them leave the wilderness steppe of EDIN clothed. For further details google the following two books I had published in 2010: Walter R. Mattfeld. _The Garden of Eden Myth, Its Pre-biblical Origin in Mesopotamian Myths._ Walter R. Mattfeld. _Eden's Serpent: Its Pre-biblical Origin in Mesopotamian Myths._

People that have read the epic of Gilgamesh and say how it was the OG flood myth actually don't know or disregard the fact that every culture from the Hopi Indians to the Australian Aboriginees had a flood myth... If you think about it maybe if every culture had a flood myth that is a proof that an actual flood happened rather it being invented by a writer and plagiarized as some people claim. Anyway there's different versions of the Gilgamesh myth, mainly the Sumerian version dated around 2000 years BC and it differs from the Assyrian version read here which was discovered in 1850 and dated around 650 BC... Not quite as a old. The 650 BC Asirian version or the "complete version" is more of a collection of myths and legends centered around the same character rather than a cohesive narrative. Some of those myths are older and some are newer. The older Sumerian version didn't contained the flood myth so it's safe to assume that it could have been added later as it was briefly alluded to it in the text Also, many ancient nations had oral storytelling tradition as old as the city of Uruk for example so just that someone wrote down their version of a certain myth first doesn't prove that they were the original author
