GIMP Tutorial: Duotone Effect

wow! Another fantastic tutorial.. so very helpful. Thanks!:) OT: Something really cool I figured out today, is I can make curved text very easily in the Phonto app on my phone, save it, then email it to myself and bring it into Gimp. Just mentioning in case anyone else shares the woes of trying to make curved text!

I learned a few new tricks, like the grow and shrink. However, separating the subject from the background, you seemed like went through a lot of steps. I'm thinking: - Appropriate fuzzy select threshold (whiles the radius is increased to avoid the jagginess)

This is awesome! Could you make a tutorial for an scrolling wallpaper for phones? By scrolling, I mean it moves when you swipe to another page.

As someone who is teaching himself web design this tutorial was GOLD. I'm trying it with different colour combinations tough and am struggling to get Yellow and Pink to work- on the darken only it changes the Pink to Red (obviously the mix of yellow and pink)-- how can I get around this to keep the vibrant pink?

came here for the duo tone effect, had 3 other lessons crammed into it before getting to the duo effect. all that other stuff should be separate. made this more confusing than it should have been because i kept having to skip around to get to the actual lesson i came here for....

hi, thank your for another great video but I have one question. why don't you teach people to use bezier curves? you used fuzzy, then shrink, then grow and all this stuff I know that curves are probably a pain in ass for a newbie, but if a person is learning to use gimp for design purposes its just a matter of time when curves become frindly. and when they do they become the quickiest way to erase backgrounds etc.

Is it possible to achieve that effect in paint.net? Merge down seems to do something different there ...

great tutorial, but I have a problem, with the length of the video. it would be much quicker if you used the scissor select tool or just sped up the video a bit. but other than that it's a great video!
