Really appreciate the conversation around grit and whether lacking it is negative or not. It’s one that I battle with internally sometimes. I think it’s useful to remember that grit sometimes looks different and just because it’s lacking in one personal area doesn’t mean it’s lacking completely ❤

Clearly our Moms are the same lol. We definitely had to finish dinner for breakfast the next day and if all of the dishes weren’t done OR weren’t done correctly, all cabinets were emptied because as she put it, clearly we needed practice. To this day, my kitchen is pristine and I always clean my plate 😂😂😂

Correct! I never got the wake up but my sister tried it. I did have my black mom moment, on my birthday no less, 2 years ago. I told my kid to do the dishes, got off work (worked overnight) at 2:30 and saw that kitchen wasn’t clean. Oh she learned that day😂😂😂 and I make my plates small for that reason, I can get more if I want but I’m not eating it for breakfast.

Jo is me and I am Jo. In 3rd grade, I made first chair in orchestra and didn't even tell my mom I had a concert. She only found out about the concert because I needed a ride there and only found out I was first chair because she saw me sitting in first chair and saw me preform a solo. I'll also tell you that not much has changed since then. It really never seemed that deep to me. 😅

Me and Jo are the same😅 we don't feel it's super important to announce we made JV. we know everyone will be more excited than I am, even tho JV means nothing. it's nothing against you as parents or we do this with bad intentions. it just doesn't feel important to acknowledge
