The crap they put on the radio is designed scientifically to be popular, easy to listen to and sell or download. The pop I can listen to some. The twangy pop stuff they call country music I can not! Both genre give me a vibe that they were made with making $ being the driving force behind them. It lacks a lot of foundational values and leaves it sounding hollow, with no soul, love or energy! The best music is gonna be real hard to find on radio waves

The subject matter of this song is difficult. What she is threatening to do because of her broken heart is hyperbole everywhere else in the world but murdering people you love, murdering people you hate or murdering them for no reason at all is what we deal with every day in the US.

Sadly I have to agree with you. Yes Gin is very good. But mainstream music nowadays is for the most part boring. The big music companies nowadays are not willing to take any chances. They nearly always goes for the tried and proved. There is no room for creativity and individuality in pop or rock music nowadays. Of cause I am generalizing a bit. There is good music today also. But truth is, if Led Zeppelin, The Door or The Who had been young and upcoming today, there is a good chance they wouldn't have gotten a record deal, Because they were too different. And that is sad. I am sure there is bands around today, that if given a chance could have become the new Zeppelin, Doors, Who or Iron Maiden. But the record companies are not willing to take that risk.

Gin is from little ol New Zealand ... the land of lots of sheep and cattle and not a lot of people. It's so much harder for kiwis to break through into the mainstream and get recognised overseas :-)

Another song that should have been a hit. Why are these songs in obscurity? She is talented and beautiful yet I only found it as a recommendation on you tube. @@martinpearson1249 be aware and beware Agents and the music industry, since the fifties. it works in a very certain way. workmate in Vancouver, BC told Bruce Allen to stuff it, never worked again. There's ONE agent in every city and you have to be with THAT agent, or you go NOWHERE. Another workmate went to LA in the late sixties, when everyone was getting a "contract". Heard his demo tape recently. How about "Sugar Man" in the early seventies??? Ahead (or not with) the times. Never went anywhere, but his "agent" kept his checks coming from South Africa and never told him about the 'cash flow". Heart only earned from album sales AT CONCERTS according to their contract up into the early seventies. They got nothing from their song list; it went to the Agency. the story goes on and on.
