An evocative and beautifully shot portrait of post-war Britain, as seen through the eyes of Elle Fanning's impressionable young teenager. Elle Fanning plays Ginger, who finds herself increasingly estranged from her mother (Christina Hendricks) a drawn further into the world of her pacifist and anti-nuclear activist father (Alessandro Nivola). However, her friendship with the fiery Rosa (Alice Englert) is severely tested by his unconventional lifestyle. The result is an intelligent examination of political and personal responsibility.

It is a truly amazing film. This movie is absolutely beautiful. Elle Fanning has already reached the level of monster actors, like Sigourney Weaver. It is absolutely amazing - as her sister, Dakota. I have already cried for having listened play its role with disarming authenticity - and not just once. The Fanning sisters are masterly. These two sisters have an incredible talent - a rare talent.

no. I am well aware of what a rendition is. It doesn't change the title of the song. I mean, I can tack on (Instrumental Version) for you if you haven't figured that out already, which evidently you haven't. If you're looking for another track entirely, well good luck looking that up on your own, but this song is Living on a Wire by Nitin Sawhney, and no, it is not crap.

Len Lising I don't believe Sally Potter meant it to be interpreted in a romantic way. Ginger & Rosa had a really strong friendship since birth; so it's kind of like sisters saying love you. :)

well to be fair. Dakota's been in the business for like 13 years or something like that, there's no wow factor anymore. She could literally do the most amazing job and people will just be like "well, it's Dakota Fanning" Elle Fanning still has that "who is this person?" feel to her....if that makes any sense at all.

so looking forward to this movie, I love elle fanning ! the theme seems really unusual, not like your average coming of age-story.I'm not fond of the red hair though, it looks rather fake.
