Video biography about Ginger Baker. I created this video using After Effects and Final Cut Pro for Zildjan Drummers Achievement Awards. Ginger Baker was awarded the lifetime achievement award at Sheperd Bush.
Brilliant and fascinating. Looking forward to reading his autobiography which I've just ordered 'Hellraiser'. Ginger is just a genius! Thanks for this video.
@hammerofmariotos Ginger's kit was made out of three ply wood-mahogany/poplar/mahogany in 1968 when Cream finished, Ludwig swapped the mahogany with maple. This is not BS, I got from Ludwig's own site. Cheers
die Schlussworte von ERIC CLAPTON sind wunderbar... CREAM gehört zu den GIGANTEN DER MUSIKGESCHICHTE. DANKE:.... ihr habt mich immer wieder inspiriert... wenn ich Euere >Musik höre.
Thanks for this.Very interesting. Love Ginger's drumming. Could never understand why Jack Bruce and Ginger never really got on with each other. What their differences were. Ginger even complained after the Albert Hall reunion concerts about Jack's behavour and Jack has mentioned in the past about Ginger attacking him. All a mystery to me.
Some people have this kind of luck in life where they treat others well only when they are and have excuses to treat others not so well only because they have an inner darkness the blinds them . still getting praises in life I was taught to treat others as you would like to be treated . that says a lot about ginger. maybe he was asking for retaliation .some people need to feel pain to mask their emotional pain or just to feel like they are alive .reminds me a little bit of John Lennon thank God they weren’t in a band together .musically it would’ve been an extravaganza but off stage it would’ve been Like Moe Larry and Curly.
@hammerofmariotos The first Ludwig was definitely a mahogany/poplar/mahogany 3 ply with maple reinforcing rings. The old Leedy snare he used might have been mahogany and maple... Can't tell for sure! The second kit could be either the same as the first or a 3 ply maple job. It was bought in Ludwig's transition period when they switched to maple - wintness Ringo's Let it be kit and Bonham's early Zep kits. Both still sporting the Ludwig keystone badge but using the same shells as the later ones.
Ginger didn't get a loan from his mother for his first drum kit he as pete Brown said Ginger could be extremely unkind to himself not just others it's been documented by those around him in his early years of drumming he made his first two kits the first out of biscuit tins the second he made out of fibreglass which he used in the Graham bond organisation and he grew up poor doubt his mother had that many spare pounds back in those days
@@JoeMode213 How old are you? I've had the original since 1968 and it most certainly does include 2 discs, one studio and one live. I've listened to Toad live hundreds of times so I'm quite sure it is on there.
