I could not resist to achieve even this fermentation. The Ginger Beer, is not a real beer but it was given this name because follow the same procedure. In Italy it is not widespread, but in other nations going great.

I used the quantities you provided and a ginger beer yeast and fermentation has almost finished after 48 hours. SG has gone down from 1.059 two days ago to 1.015 today... and it smells lovely!

Ahh It turned out delicious! I simmered it a little longer so it would be stronger ginger taste, and man it hit, both in ginger taste, burning only like ginger can, and also alcoholic wise! Awesome! Thank You so much for posting your recipies! Best Regards from Sweden.

I made this as per your video and added your grape yeast.. Excellent taste with same pressure from my fridge.. Today I made 6 liters of the same.. How can increase the alcohol level to 8%... You are really rocking guy.. keep it up..

Is the liquid yeast you are using here from your experiment grape and apple yeast? I haven't found the watermelon wine, beer and bread recipes yet as this Ginger Beer caught my eye. Your video topics are amazing, delicious using my eyes.

I collect this yeast from another beer, at the end of the fermentation you can collect from the bottom of the fermenter 👍🏼 this ginger beer is good 😋 and easy 😉 you can start from this one

I see you have used Brown sugar But the Yeasts part of the video was not clear 1) Did you mix Yeast in lukewarm water before adding it to the brew ? 2) did you add any sugar to yeast + water mix ? 3) are you using instant /quick rise or Active yeast that we use for baking ? Thanks

Yes you can drink it now but not store in bottles because the bottles will explode 🧨

Thanks to your videos, I plan on starting my first honey sourdough next week! I have also been looking at many of your homemade wines. I might try the watermelon wine this summer. I would LOVE to see more content about ginger beer. Is it possible to make a non-alcohol/low alcohol type of ginger beer? My husband and I both remember, as children drinking a ginger beer from the UK. We haven't seen it in decades - it was so good as a thirst quencher. Would you be willing to show us how to make our own soft ginger beer, please?

Can I use White sugar instead of the brown one you used? And also I do not have a Hydrometer to check the density! Hope following the same quantity of ingredients you used will give me the result with 4-5% Alcohol.

Room temperature at list 1 week afternoon you can put in the fridge 1 and when it is could you can try it 😋 but 2 weeks is better

In fridge yeast will die. Bcz yeast cant survive in cold and very hot . Its need normal temperature

Another doubt You seem to have saved the yeast that were left at the bottom for further use How long can the yeast be kept in fridge? What is its life expectancy? I understand at 4% alcohol level the may not have died. But for example if I make a really strong wine with alcohol percentage upto 13 or 14%, I would imagine that the yeast must have perished. So can I keep those left over? Will they be any good? Can it be used again to make wine?

In the fridge at least 6 months. What you said it is true, but some ones of them will survive and they will start the next fermentation 😉

Here is the recipe and the process (i swear I made it) 100g ginger unpeeled, washed. 200g sugar (the one you want) 1 lime 1,5 l water 6g brewing yeast Sanitize every object you are going to use for the brewing process. Slice the unpeeled washed ginger root; slice the lime. Add it to the water and bring to a boil. Add sugar and once reached again the boiling, cook for 5 minutes. Cool down as fast as you can to room temperature. In the meanwhile activate the yeast by adding the powder (or the liquid yeast) to a solution of source water and sugar, as shown in the video. Don't use tap water: the chlorine will kill the yeast. Transfer the cooled infusion to a fermenter, filtering with a thin strainer. Add in the activated yeast. Close the fermenter with a bubbler on the top and wait for the fermentation to start, and stop after few days (no more bubbling in the bubbler). It's now time to bottle. Put white sugar into the bottles: 3 to 5 g per bottle of 500ml (with 3g of sugar I got a very carbonated drink). Never go over 10g of sugar per liter or you'll experience those famous eploding bottles. Fill the bottles with the fermented ginger infusion, and leave at least two weeks to rest and to carbonate. Before drinking, put it in the fridge and serve very very chilled. A delight!

You may want to watch again (took me 5 or so watches to figure things out!) and then ask the author some specific questions. He is mostly willing to answer reasonable queries.

@@sparklysparks77 I tripled the doses (only doubled the dose of the yeast) and brewed in a 5 liter carboy. It worked and it is a faboulous beverage: the light bitter of the lime peel balances the sugar and the spicy of ginger. A perfect summer wine (for the italian law this is a wine; beer involves the use of hops). I made it with white sugar.

Hey Chef, ever try making your own ginger bug/starter? A similar process to sourdough. Take washed unpeeled ginger and grate it. 20g shredded ginger 20g water 20g sugar Do this every day for 3-4 days and keep adding the same ingredients to the mother batch until you have an active yeasty colony.

Did the fermentation stop after 4 days? Usually with beer, you wait until the fermentation stops before bottling with priming sugar. Did you wait or just bottle it when the alcohol gravity was where you wanted it? I just brewed this recipe last night so I'm very curious when I should bottle it. Thanks!

Technically if you put it into a real beer calculator, the abv was 3.9%, and had an attenuation 71% which is quite low

@@papa_rao perfect thing you can do here, just wait for the fermentation to stop. That's your timing. Add 2 lemon Take 120g Ginger with 400g sugar and 1.5ltr water It will achieve favorable taste with 8% alcohol. My Advice: don't mess with Recipe if you want perfect taste.

Very nice Andre. What type of yeast do you use please? I only know the bread but never and the brewing yeast to make the wash to distill to make vodka (or any other nice spirits and liquors) I know that one. I'm in summer and would some cold fizzy ginger drinks. Thank you from New Zealand 🇳🇿
