Fresh is always better. But this is an extremely good idea for those households who do not have time for shopping due to very busy schedules. Thanks dear for this wonderful tip
Even easier, if you can obtain a bottle of sherry (dry preferably). Just peel and cut into pieces (as you prefer) , place in a clean jar and cover with sherry. Will keep for up to a year . I like to refrigerate but it'll ; be preserved out of the fridge Rinse off the ginger before using - it'll have a slight sherry taste but doesn't affect the ginger flavour in cooking .

Great tip! If you want more air out of your zip bag, here's what I do....Zip your bag leaving 1/4" open. Submerge the bag in water up to the 1/4" open end and carefully seal it without letting water in the bag...Bipiddy, bopiddy, boop....Less air in bag...😉
Nice..dear Abdulaziz ji also watch our ginger preserve unique recipe uploaded today n u will love it..click the icon till then lots of wishes from tadka with style
Thank you for your good idea. I find it is easy to use a teaspoon to scrape the skin off the ginger. Also cut the ginger on the table not in your hand in case you cut yourself. Regards from Sunny South Africa
Dear friend, Whenever you preserve the food by ice cubes method. You don't pack all with in same bag . Keep in different bags, to protect food from Bacterial infections while using, because always our hands is not clean. Making different packages is safer. You can take one candle and seal the mouth of plastic bag , if you don't have jip lock bag. Fold the bag mouth of plastic bag and pass on flame. You will learn by practice. You can break the ice cubes with small hammer or pasal, so that you can use excat amount . Thanks a lot. Very nice job. Namh shivay.
Yes good way you showed. Thank you. I do it differently and it saves your time and energy. 1)wash and peel ginger. 2)dry it with cloth (not using kitchen napkins to save tree and avoid unrequited garbage.) 3)make medium size pieces not to grate 4)put it in air tight container or zip lock bag.or even normal plastic bag and seal it with rubber band . 5)take as much required and use it.
i do the same no need to go through such tedious process, whenever i need i will take out ginger chunks and make a paste in processor to use use in my curries , i use garlic same way
my only issue is that this frozen ginger cannot be used as salad because freezer makes it soggy after it is defrosted so i guess for that purpose we need some fresh ginger in refg.

1. peel the ginger. 2. wash them. 3. Pat them dry. 4. Slice them into small pieces. 5. Use a chopper or food processor to mince them. Or grate them. 6. Put the minced ginger in ice cube trays. 7. Put the trays in the freezer for 2-3 hours. 8. Transfer the frozen ginger cubes into zip lock bags. 9. Put them back into the freezer for future use. I think that's 9 steps and not 2 steps. Nice tip though. 😀
