The only band I’ve ever gotten on a plane for. And I’ve done it more than once.

The Warning is a band of 3 sisters. Daniela, Paulina, and Alejandra. They live in Monterrey, Mexico and have been rocking out as a band since 2012 (when they were 12, 10, and 7 years old)! Their parents loved music and they grew up watching and listening to rock concerts. Daniela (Dany) and Paulina (Pau) attended a music initiation class when they were 5 and 3 respectively. Alejandra (Ale’) attended the same class when she was old enough. They loved it. They all started classical piano lessons when they were between 6 and 7 years old. When Dany was 7 their dad bought them the Rock Band video game and they absolutely fell in love with rock music and performing on stage…. even though it was just a game. When Dany was 8 years old her dad asked her if she wanted to learn another instrument, along with piano. She chose the guitar. Pau chose the drums when she was 6, and Ale’ chose the bass at 6 (but was too small to play it until she was 7). Ale’ had been playing bass for about 1 month when they decided to play together and that was when the band was formed. In 2023 they celebrated 10 years as The Warning”. It is important to understand that their parents never pushed them to do this. This project was 100% the girl’s decision. Their parents completely supported them but never pushed them. In 2014 they made a video to send to their grandparents to show them how they had progressed in their playing. The video was too big to just email so their dad uploaded it onto RU-vid. It was a cover of Metallica’s Enter Sandman and it went viral! To date it has well over 25 million views and was shouted out by Metallica’s Kirk Hammett, as well as many other famous bands. The girls were completely caught off guard by the attention this video got and they had to make a decision- they quit school and started homeschooling in order to devote as much time as possible to their music. They were 100% committed to this project and have never slowed down since (practicing hours every day separately and even more hours together). In 2015 they released an EP called Escape the Mind. It was a mix of different kinds of songs as they sorted out their musical style. They released their first album in 2017 called XXI Century Blood (21st Century Blood). They released their second album in 2018 called Queen of the Murder Scene. It was a concept album telling the story of a young woman’s journey from desire, to love, to infatuation, to obsession, to psychotic, to murder, to remorse, and finally to suicide. It was an amazing album and was up for, and won, many Independent Music awards in 2019. In 2022 their third album (first since signing to Lava Records) called Error. It is simply amazing! Dany sings lead on about 75% if the songs. Pau sings lead on about 25% of the songs (either while drumming, or while at the keyboard, or just out front). Ale’ is a little shy about singing lead but steps in and sings lead when needed. All 3 can literally jump in and sing lead on any song if needed (with no drop-off in quality) and their harmonies in songs are simply amazing! They have all given master classes on their instruments and song writing and performing (even as young as 18 years old). They have opened for several great bands including Alice Cooper, Def Leopard, Stryper, The Foo Fighters, The Pretty Reckless, Halestorm, Three Days Grace, Guns n Roses, and their absolute idols Muse. In 2022 they played 103 concerts in South American and North America. In 2023 they played 75 concerts dates in 13 different countries all over the world. The band was names “Best Live Band” for 2023. Paulina (drummer) was named “Up and Coming Drummer” for 2023 Paulina was also named “Best Rock Drummer” for 2023 by Drumeo Magazine. Alessia Cara (Canadian pop star) was also asked to participate but had no idea what to do. Because she shares the same management group as The Warning, she contacted them for help. It was difficult to do as Alessia was in Canada and The Warning were in Mexico and travel with COVID was not happening. They made it work and developed/recorded this completely re-imagined song in one week. They created the music video with the same logistical restrictions. Because of that you will see that Alessia appears as a projection on the wall in the video as she was not there. It was recorded in an abandoned textile mill outside of Monterrey, Mexico. Good ears! Three amazing sisters where no one takes a back seat. All classically trained musicians since they were children. All can sing lead. You should see the drummer Pau (POW!) take lead WHILE drumming! She is a force of nature. The youngest the bassist Ale is a human metronome, perfect timing, perfect pitch. Her bass line forming the foundation or backbone of many of their songs. The oldest lead singer Dany is an incredible storyteller, with her vocal powers and her facial expressions. I don’t think we’ve seen the limits of what she can do as she keeps raising the bar.

Classic rock sound with elements of punk, pop, grunge, even a little metal. Familiar but unique. Best straight-up rock group I've heard in the last 40 years.

You need to listen to lots more of The Warning! Try 'Evolve' from the 2023 MTV VMAs, 'Z' from Teatro Metropolitan, and 'Dust to Dust' with the drummer singing lead while still drumming furiously. And it's the intro to a concept album, _Queen of the Murder Scene,_ which tells the story of a girl going from unrequited love to obsession, stalking, murder, and then a battle against her evil side for her soul. Written by these young ladies when they were mid-teens at the oldest.

I'm 73, never cared for metal/rock that much. I grew up in the 60's and 70's. Seeing these young women grow up practically from when they first started via RU-vid makes me feel like their grandfather or some family member. They make me feel so proud that they have become the young women they have. Their live music is more appealing to me but that's must me. I don't know if I've been accepted into the Warning Army yet but I hope I get there before long. I just want to see The Warning make it to the "big stage" as headliners if that's what they want, even though they are such "approachable" people as they are from all reports.

The Warning Army welcomes you to what we believe is the future of rock & roll - The Warning - Three sisters from Monterey Mexico who started playing together when they were children and who have now been making great hard music for more than a decade. With three studio albums, several live concert videos, and a new album on the way (to be released June 28), we think there is plenty of material for you to choose from. The two rabbit holes I fell in the past year have been Ren and The Warning. They are both such amazing artists. You have no idea how good the Warning is. Best rock band in a generation. So talented and creative and YOUNG. They've been doing it for 10 years, and the oldest sister is only 24! I suggest "Evolve", live at the 2023 MTV VMAs. It's next level.

These ladies are incapable of writing a bad song. Watch the entire concert from Teatro Metropolitan from August of 2022. This is the video I saw 15 months ago that spiralled me into The Warning rabbit hole. There are so many of their songs that take the listener on a musical and lyrical super rollercoaster ride, with slow build ups, pauses, then extreme pounding cords and bass lines. The Warning is a once in a generation phenomenon. I flew down from Portland Oregon with my daughter to see them live over 3 months ago in Tijuana where they started with Disciple. Ale’s bass kicked me in the chest and knocked me over, then Pau beat me over the head with her drums and then Dany finished me off by slaying me with her guitar and vocals. Once you go down The Warning rabbit hole there's no way out, like Black Holes (which is one of my favorite songs of theirs). Warning: you will be innundated by The Warning Army! 🤘⚡

They will be at Louder than Life this year as well. These 3 sisters were my favorite find of 2023. Ages 19-24 from Mexico. I could watch Pau play the drums All...Day...Long. The whole Teatro Metropolitan series is 🔥. You should check out their latest live release "Hell You Call A Dream" as well.

Im also glad that you 'get it'. They're not gonna show off and overwhelm you with tons of technical prowess, with flashy solos and very complicated fast paced riffs (although they could if they wanted to). But as you mentioned, they leave little easter eggs here and there, small nuggets that keep the listener on their toes all the while letting the cynic know "yeah, you thought we were a basic rock band?" Stick around and you'll notice tons of very precise songwriting and compositions with multiple instances that make you rewind.

I'm 68 and totally relate to the rock vibe that The Warning gives off. I've been listening to them for about 2+ years now and just pre-ordered their new LP "Keep Me Fed" which comes out in June. It's been literally decades since I looked this much forward to a record release. Rock On Warning!

Nice to hear you catch and compliment that bass run after Ale's short vocal, not a lot of reactors comment on that. "Sprinkling of Epicness"...you will see how accurate that is if you continue. The thing about The Warning is that whatever song you start with you’ll find the deep rabbit hole beckoning. Every song is fire. Lyrically it’s about being so overwhelmed by feelings and circumstances that you feel like you’re drowning, and that it’s ok to feel that way, you can rise above it. All their lyrics are meaningful and this just scratches the surface. Enormously talented and songwriting second to none. You’ll find yourself pulled in after a few songs. I believe the more songs you hear, the more you will like this band! I haven’t heard a bad song yet. I suggest their performance of Evolve at the 2023 MTV VMA’s side stage and, their latest release, Hell You Call A Dream(HYCAD) done live at The Pepsi Center CDMX!!!😊⚡️

It's pretty much all been said already, so I'll just add a few recommendations on where to go next: Evolve at the VMAs, Disciple at this same Teatro Met concert, or if you want to hear Pau sing lead, theres Dust To Dust and 23 both again from the Teatro Met concert. There are many, many more I could suggest as they really don't have a single bad song. Basically pick anything by them and it'll be great. There's a very real thing that happens with this band where the last song you've heard by them becomes your favorite. You Have Been Warned!

You're the first reactor who mentions Pau's upper toms setup that I've seen. Here's my thoughts: 1. She sings lead, while crushing the drums, on a few songs, so the lower front toms allow her to be seen better; 2. She's the shortest of the 3 sisters and she really interacts with the audience, so she can see them better; 3. She started learning drums when she was somewhere between 6 and 8 and told her drum teacher from the beginning that she wanted to sing while playing, so I think has been her setup since the beginning. You'll notice this as well when she was 12 in their viral video cover in 2014 of Enter Sandman.

There is nothing better than watching someone who has never heard them, react to this band. You will definitely get info and suggestions from this fan base so get ready. TWA in the house! I just love those very first reactions to TW. All this shock, confusion, amazement and disbelief like "what the heck did just happen". :) I had the same thing with "Dust to dust" (also from Teatro Metropolitan) which was my very first "adult" TW song. Just don`t stop and keep reacting to those astonishing ladies. :)

These sisters are the real deal great performers and song writers. TW are a fun band to follow they have a ton of fun on stage and that's contagious AF. That 'Sprinkling of Epicness' you were talking about is how you make a song with parts that repeat, interesting, and they are absolute masters of it. You repeat, but with some variation, and not just some obvious variation but something that just pulls you back in, like an extra drum fill, or the introduction of a bass line like Ale did there (she did it earlier in the song too but it's different now because she's singing). One of the great things about Rock is that you really want the song to be fairly simple, and then do permutations on it in the right way such that every moment of the thing is actually a new experience. And GINX, you done did it falling down The Warning rabbithole. I think you'll enjoy the entire concert this is from and let me tell you, there will definitely be people here to cheer you on if you do. If you want to get more into music composition and the story of the band, there are other concerts where they debut albums they wrote and recorded as teens and they are as good and in some ways more interesting than their later things. "Every Warning song you hear will be your new favorite" for awhile...

The Villarreal Velez sisters. Daniela (Dany) on guitar, sings lead on most songs. Paulina (Pau pronounced Pow) on drums, sings lead on some. Alejandra (Ale) on bass , mostly backing vocals, will sing lead if need be, usually if Dany is sick or needs a break. Ale's bit of lead vocal here, afaik it's the only pro shot footage of that. Only fan cams exist of her singing lead on a full song. Choke is from their 3rd album, Error. Their 4th album, Keep Me Fed, is due out June 28. Btw, Teatro Metropolitan CDMX = Metopolitan Theater ,Mexico City. They were 22, 20 ,and 17 at this concert, all 22 songs here are awesome. Been playing together over 10 years, their straight cover of Enter Sandman, at ages 14 12 and 9, was posted for family and friends, and went viral.

Next, I recommend either Evolve live (MTV VMAs or Teatro Metropolitan) or Hell You Call a Dream live from Pepsi Center. They have great ballads too. 23 or Revenant from Teatro Metropolitan are great. The drummer sings lead on both. She is also the principal songwriter. Bassist is youngest sister and was only 17 at this concert (19 now).
