Kinda brings up the question as to why the defence force doesn't just have a satellite that can drop ballistic payloads on the kaiju, like the doomsday weapon from the second GI Joe movie. They clearly have rockets that can lift massive payloads into orbit, and they don't seem very bothered by collateral damage

They didn't just kill the kaiju with that hit - they killed the franchise.

Man can you you imagine how many bad endings we’d get in movies if the monsters didn’t roar every time there on screen?

Imagine all those workers screaming at the top of their lungs as the buildings they spent years building were destoryed in less then seconds not even defeating the Kaiju

If they can build giant robots with extremely sophisticated engineering and computer system, I’m pretty sure they can build a better communication system that doesn’t make them sound muffled.

The greatest crime of this movie (outside of Trolololo video) was killing all weight the Jagers had. The first film was fantastic at making them seem heavy.

This may not be a good movie compare to the original, but i like how they took out the mega kaiju in this scene, the Jaeger breaking the sound barrier looks epic too

I’ve always wondered, why in the hell were there kids piloting. First movie was adults & that’s why it succeeded.

It is absolutely amazing how Hollywood took a great concept and starting franchise and cratered it more than Jaeger hitting that Kaiju due to terrible casting and blatant Sinopandering

The impact from Gipsy Avenger should’ve detonated Mount Fuji

In fact, they have more advanced rocket technology than Jaeger technology. It's amazing how such a small rocket can transport a 2,000-ton payload even to the stratosphere at high speeds. Why don't they build a ballistic missile with a warhead mass of thousands of tons for killing kaiju?

The jaeger in this feels so weightless and cheap. I think a power ranger megazord feels like it has more weight.

I have a hard time believing that modern military aircraft couldn't kill a Kaiju. A modern HEAT round would slice through it's skin like a hot knife through butter.

If the movie hadn't already lost you, this is the point it finally happened. It's like they were trying to ruin the film for everyone who had high hopes for it.

I love each Kaiju from both movies and both seasons of the anime have their own unique designs.

I will say, even if the whole movie is up for discussion, this boss kill was pretty epic.

"I can weld it to your hand" You're welding... A fully loaded booster... Using plasma... On the tank... Not even on the center of gravity... Of something too heavy to even achieve lift-off... And it somehow brings it across a country. Guess my physics lessons lied to me.

It probably would be easier to build an orbital drop system similar to "Odin" from COD:Ghosts, that would just drop kinetic impactors to obliterate Kaiju, than to build fully functional skyscraper tall wrestler robot. Probably would cause less collateral as well.

I miss Gipsy Avenger as I do for Gipsy Danger, and most of the other Jaegers with pilots.

This is the second best scene in the whole movie, the first was November Ajax's appearance

Despite the flaws of the sequel it’s nice to see Gipsy Danger was used as a nuclear payload to stop the Precursors and Gipsy Avenger used as an orbital bombardment battering ram to stop the Mega Kaiju.

Ah yes. Mega "Vs" Gipsy Avenger. Really stands out amongst other "Fight Scenes." Remember Slattern vs Striker in the first movie? Where they didn't interact at all until the Striker detonated? Or how about Baryonyx vs Lava in JWFK? Better yet, what about Godzilla vs Kong? My favorite part was where Godzilla fought Mokele Mbembe offscreen. My point here is, this is only a VS in the loosest possible sense. This movie is hollow in comparison to the original.

Why does there have to be so many young children piloting the Jaegers and it looks so more unrealistic than the first movie tho the fight against obsidian or whatever his name was, was very cool, I loved that fight

As someone who only watched Pacific Rim 1, and not 2, I am trying to make sense of why people hate it so much. I can immediately tell the CGI itself is great. Nothing to complain there. However, the camerawork (allthough amazing at times) is too fast during action scenes. It is hard to follow what is going on. And there are FAR TOO MANY pilot scenes. In movie 1, the robots were so cool because the shots were so long and complete you at times forgot humans were in there. They felt like godlike, slow and weighty entities instead of agile tools. The camers often showed us perspectives from the streetlevels and all. Or chopper views to make us feel their size. and they felt weighty. The story itself, especially with a movie based on big robots makes not much sense, but in the first movie it was purposefully kept vague why this was their best solution. They walked a mysterious and fine line that got overstepped in this movie. They break physics too much. Next up, the only thing that actually bothered me remotely so far from looking at the clips is the xbox 360 headsets quality they use to communicate. There is A LOT of talking.. It's a bit meh. Movie one was a work of art. Every scene was majestic and though out. I miss that here. Logic is gone, and when it is we cannot feel excitement. Cuz everything we see is BS. If you set rules in your fictional world you have to stick to it.

Loved the first one. This one... meh.

Rewatched the first one recently. That movie was incredible. Insane qaulity cgj that still holds up and the story telling made a super fleshed out world with just 2 hours run time.

physics is completely wrong on this.. when a rocket runs out of fuel the object should proceed to keep going upwards. For instance. The height reached by a rocket is 7 times the height at which the fuel runs out.

Those heroes in this movie did more damage than Otachi in the ORIGINAL movie
