@@mohamedahmedyassinhussein6856 a slim woman can have big breasts and an a booty. Thats curvy, sometimes you see round and obese women calling themselves curvy, thats not curvy
Layla Priest What do you mean nobody supports “naturally” curvy women? The norm now is to be curvy natural or not and personally I’ve seen more backlash against plastic surgery than I have for anything “natural” so...
So maddening. I was cheering about the democratic win story in Alabama, thought this was recent lol. then they went onto Girls Trip story.. this summer ..and i was like wtf??
I would seriously love to see the women of the real get a side hustle of a plus size clothing line using Jeannie's style skills and the flavor flares of the others MODELED by Loni ... I mean keep it real 💯 they bring a new beautiful and varied style
There is a big difference between being curvy and being unhealthy (overweight). Unfortunately too many women use to word curvy to justify there unhealthy state.
Yup that's what annoys me. Curvy is your bone structure, your body not your weight, if you are only "curvy" when overweight....... you are not curvy. I keep seeing everyone calling everyone an hourglass aswell 😭
A person can be curvy and obese because curvy is dependent on body shape. But that’s not an excuse to enable an unhealthy lifestyle that contributes to excessive weight gain. If you eat healthy and do some sort of physical activity but you’re still large, you might have a large frame and that’s fine. But you can’t use popular labels to justify being unhealthy.
There’s also VERY rare petite sizes in name brands!! And if I’m gonna be real, many of us petites are TOO SMALL for the petite section and are forced to look in the kids sections and buy jeans with sequin peace sings on the pockets! Petites exist and are underrepresented just as much! A size zero doesn’t always mean 5’4, and 120 pounds, some of us are 4’10 and 93 pounds like me!’
So true. I can’t even go to malls in the US anymore because I know they won’t carry my size and I’ll be left disappointed. I can only shop from distributors based overseas in places like Asia or Europe where the small sizes are true to size.
On the flip side of things..Tall women exist! Especially, tall curvy women. Now I am not a curvy godess or anything, but not all of us 6’ women are models. If the pants, by some miracle are long enough there is no way to put them on past my thights. And if the pants fit at waist/legs, they are about 2,3 (or more) inches short. Dresses are T-shirts. And don’t get me started on the sleeve length. Some of these things can be worked out, especially in warm weather..But in winter, I need my pants to cover my ankles and my shirts to reach my wrists.
I have the exact same problem. Things like that happen when you’re not the norm, that doesn’t mean your body isn’t normal, it just mean you have to look really really hard.
I’ve always been curvy from my heaviest weight to now 67lbs down and my waist size is 25 inch now and my hip to waist ratio is bomb y’all. Sorry I had to flex, my weightloss made me do it. I’m just happy that I can even fit size small clothes now. 😊🙊 man i worked out hard for this weight loss.
🤷🏾♀️I hated bridesmaids. I have yet to make it through the whole movie in one sitting. I don’t love girls trip but it was pretty similar. I’d bridesmaids can win, they can at least be nominated...
Yes I agree! I thought I was the only one. Not only that but Kristen wig & maya Rudolph have worked for years at SNL so they definitely have experience with comedy. Bridesmaids was simply hilarious. Girls trip was ok but not even near as funny as Annie calling that flight attendant stove 😂
Speaking of Award Shows... Please make sure to tune into the People’s Choice Awards to see ur our votes made s difference and helped get our girls an award !!!
Great show clip! I want to add that big name brand companies don't want bigger people wearing their clothing. They are afraid of losing sales from the people that are more acceptable to look at. In which are advertising for the companies for other people in the range of size thr companies provide. It's not just the companies' fault. It's the consumers as well. It's sad, but times are changing for the better. One 💚
Being a celebrity it’s hard, for me it’s also the skinny side in my work place we have a huge department store and we get staff allowance for clothes but I’m too small to fit in any and tbh I’m not what you would call ‘too’ skinny I’m just slim and I can’t find anything I’ve asked to order in the smaller sizes but all are too big for me beautiful clothes aswell
If u use the argument that u have to play ur cards the way they’re dealt, then u have to apply that to everything. That makes loni contradictory when she talks about changing things for black people, especially in Hollywood. Isn’t institutional racism the card that black people have been dealt?
I watched Girls Trip last week and it was one of the worst movies I ever watched. Tiffany Hadish wasn’t funny at al, being loud and raunchy doesn’t equate funny/comedy.
I think being curvy has always been the new norms. Curvy has always been beautiful. We have been condition to believe its distasteful and ugly. If it were a requirement to be curvy to be in Hollywood, a job , to be expected etc. I promise everyone would be changing their looks. Everyone should do whatever makes them feel great. Do you!
@@kisha4040 ...That's simple not true, in regards to people thinking it's distasteful to be curvy or plus size. Their is a difference here when we talk about being obesity. Obesity is a health concern that has nothing to do with beauty. You are discussing oranges and apples and can't equate the two, Kisha MCormick.
@@bwrrock8951 they're right. People these days conflict curvy and obesity. Yes, obesity is a health concern but for the sake of "fat acceptance", people can't say that because it'd be body shaming. They even go as far as to call Tess Holliday curvy. Anything that isn't skinny, is automatically curvy in the internet's eyes
@@kisha4040 ...People are doing what makes them happy with or without butt implants. Whether they are born with natural curves or not. There is not just one demographic of people who are beautiful. I never said curvy is bad, its awesome. I'm a beautiful curvy girl, with natural hips and a plump A**. I absolutely love it!!!
You can quote Dr King from sunrise to sunset but if you don't make room for black women in the government and other places where we need to be even after going so hard for you, then you not different from the Reps🤷🏽♀️ Sidebar: I ain't heard of that man since black people got him elected🤷🏽♀️
Y’all dressed so fancy and classy you all look beautiful Jeannie you should of wore a blazer or a suit to match with the squad :( maybe next time y’all can pan out y’all dress up like ! I love Tamera’s & Adrienne’s outfit it’s so fire 🔥
I’m sorry but y’all tried it. I watched both bridesmaids & girls trip & I can honestly say in my opinion bridesmaids was wayyyyyyy funnier. By a lot. Like I almost peed myself. But girls trip I mean some parts where funny but it didn’t have me laughing the entire time like bridesmaids did but it could be just me.
Oh Loni...maybe travel a little more. In AZ, we have people on horses riding down the streets of Phoenix and surrounding cities and towns. It is as normal as 4-wheelers and motorcycles 'roun her'....(misspelled on purpose critics) LOL!
YAASSS Jeannie Mai!!! My weight has always fluctuated like most women do! The scary part is I am an average sized chick, at least in my opinion LOL. When I did loose weight it was only for the purpose of trying to be healthier. Before I lost weight I will never forget trying on clothes alone in the dressing room and knowing with every fiber of my being that I am just an average sized girl and all that could fit me in the mainstream stores were a XL or XXL. I remember initially feeling so bad and then immediately thinking of all the beautiful women in my life who are larger sizes than me and realizing that they can't even shop here because it's apparently just not possible. Most women feel left TF out! I am a business woman and to hear Jeannie break it down logically as to why the fashion industry cannot YET understand how they can benefit from selling to the average or plus size woman is so refreshing to hear so clearly expressed. As a business your main concern should be customer satisfaction as well as product and demand. Clearly there is a demand and customers can benefit from brands creating size inclusive products. Clearly customer satisfaction and brand popularity would increase by being size inclusive! Duh!!! How Jeannie broke it down was impeccable. Thank you to all you lovely ladies on screen at "The Real" and to all the people BTS as well. Clearly every day you all strive to produce and express truth through your platform regardless of what is socially cool. It is just truth. I've been a loyal watcher for years and these are the perfect women for the job. They were blessed with this platform to spread truth trough their individual experiences and I have connected individually to each over the years differently through every topic spoken about. I appreciate all of your hard work immensely, on camera and off! I hope you all have many more years of success helping people. Please know that as a young 27 year old woman I am so grateful this show exists and you all have elevated me. I appreciate all your hard work. This show is unparalleled and thankfully not unseen. Keep up the great work! - Hailey Livingston
Hailey Livingston Jeannie’s assessment almost appears to be based on an assumption that body sizes are equally distributed across income spectrums - i.e. women who need larger sizes have equal buying potential as thinner women. Since that is not the case, I’m not sure she can assume increasing the supply of plus-sized clothing will result in an equal proportional increase in total revenue. There may also be changes in style preferences based on differences in size, height and shape. While I can easily see companies using snob appeal and purposely not carrying certain sizes they know would sell as an effort to cater to more exclusive clientele, money is green, and I would think if the financials were as simple as Jeannie made it seem, other brands would jump on the $$$$ opportunity and flood supply in the market. Since that is not happening, at least according to what Jeannie is saying, I believe there may be other dynamics at work here.
When I was growing up, it was all about being skinny with a flat stomach. To wear those low rise jeans and crop top. Showing the midriff was practically mandatory.
I understood where Loni was coming from. To me, she wasn't saying that it was cool that Girl's Trip didn't get nominated for a Golden Globe but they did received other nominations at other awards shows, like the NAACP awards & BET awards, who Loved the Movie and felt like it deserved to be nominated..... But to be clear I am not saying that there wasn't any shadiness behind the Golden Globe nominations, idk but EVEN IF THERE WAS my outlook on situations like these is "Go Where You are Celebrated and Not Tolerated"
I don’t know where y’all are shopping but everywhere i go i only find bigger sized things than me. I only see 6-12 and im a 3 so its impossible to find clothes for myself
Loni needs to stop making excuses for cultural exclusion, appropriation and racism. Clearly she's been doing it a long time if this video is 2yrs old. Seriously ALL 89 journalists didn't like Girl's Trip, sure....
You know I scrolled through the comments to see if someone felt the same way I did. What is her problem? I agree with her about upholding our own award shows but you can't ignore the biased behaviors towards black films.
