Heather ambrose Well the thing about that is about that is when riley was asked “you still like him?” (lucas) she replied “yes, i felt the SAME WAY about you since i fell into your lap in the subway” but she had no idea who lucas was AT ALL, she just thought he was cute but nothing of deep or intimate feelings whatsoever. I was thinking about this while watching the video and it made me think of something. Yeah, Riley and Lucas could say that they liked each other since they met but being honest I think they actually fell that day in the library, when they had their first actual conversation. They liked what they knew about one another. The way Maya describes it, it feels like she fell in love with a fairytale, she says "There was a campfire, in a faraway place and a million of stars" idk I would've fallen for him, too! The situation was too ideal to not to, it was like a dream, the most romantic situation ever. And maybe she fell in love with that moment, that feeling but not him exactly
I think that's why this show failed. Their romance didn't feel sweet, genuine, romantic etc...it felt AWKWARD! The writers really killed, what could of been a GREAT show.

Lucas/Maya fans somehow seem to overlook a fundamental aspect of Lucas's character, which is that he's trying to NOT be like Maya anymore.
Very true and people forget that Maya liked Lucas to see if he was good for Riley. If that didn't make sense it's the ski episodes when Maya is talking to Josh I believe
@@savannahroberts8938 I don’t think that’s an aspect that Lucas/Maya fans overlook, I think it’s more so that that entire concept just seemed... Off? Like, it was a way for the writers to avoid addressing and working through the triangle and just force Lucas and Riley together when they really didn’t have any chemistry and honestly shouldn’t have been together. Personally, I think Riley held Lucas on a pedestal of perfection and only liked him because of that, while Maya liked Lucas because of his flaws. He gets angry, Maya gets a thrill from that and Riley doesn’t like it. Anger is a natural human emotion and I understand that Lucas wants to be better and Riley wants to help him do better, but at the same time, that’s suffocating. If this were real, Riley and Lucas probably wouldn’t even last because Riley doesn’t embrace his imperfections, just hides them and their entire ‘Romantic relationship’ most likely would’ve stopped at him being her crush that she eventually gets over. But idk. It’s been a while since I watched the show.
I don’t see it that way I feel like he did like maya because on the episode with the jellybeans he actually said that he had feelings for the two of them and he couldn’t picked and the campfire scene we all know what happened there so yeah I think he did like her not at first but when he knew about maya’s feelings he saw her in a different way but u know his feelings for Riley were more “strong”. But he did like the two of them ❤️ I wouldn’t say he “loved them either because at the ski lodge episode maya tells Lucas “go tell Riley you love her” and he’s like “love her?” And she goes “we like it” we need to pay more attention to those details🙃

I'm not usually intrested in ships, although I do enjoy Lucas' interactions with Maya more than with Riley, but I feel like the way they chose the resolution just screams of rashness. It was a forced, lazy cop out and completely unfair to the 3 of them. After having the love triangle dominate their relationship for so long, I believe they all deserved a proper closure. Instead, Maya got a 'get out of jail' card from a person who most definitely had no place to make assumptions about her feelings and Riley never got called out for being terrible to her closest friend. Lucas also had it easy since he was essentialy forced into being with Riley, although I do feel the need to mention that I don't mean it isn't possible that he ended up liking Riley more, I mean that he didn't get to choose. To this day, I'm certain that his choice was Maya that night and he was hurt and disapointed when she removed herself as an option. Riley was, as Maya would call it, in love with the fantasy that was 'Lucas', while Maya fell in love with the boy that is Lucas. Both of them got to know his best and worst parts, but only Maya accepted both of them. If you look at it from Lucas perspective, Riley should be the easy option. She was the kind of person he wanted to be, and with her he wouldn't have to think about his old personality. Maya, on the other hand, was hellbent on breaking the rules and he could see in her the part of himself that he hated. And yet, I still claim that he would pick her if he was given a choice. Why is that? Because, in the end, he's like her on the inside. That's why he enoys their banter, why he lets her affect him in ways that he shouldn't be enjoying(if we take into account how opposed he was to her insisting on breaking the rules). 'Texas Lucas' will always be apart of him, and he can't always run away from it. In a relationship with Riley, he will always be suppresing that part of him. In a relationship with Maya, he would eventually come to accept it as just another part of him.

I really like this show, i have to said that i think that Maya and Lucas are meant to be just for the fact that people really don't fall in love with someone without know the person as Riley and Lucas did, i mean they just see each other on that train and they magical fall in love. What Maya and Lucas has is more real they have been knowing each other for long time, Maya get to know Lucas and he get to Maya, is more real cuz they fall in love with the person they get to know not with a handsome guy/girl that they just see one time. I think Riley and Lucas are just crush. And i know why fans are continuing talking bad of Maya and Riley cuz they are amazing friends. Maya back off and hide her feelings for Luca to not hurt Riley and Riley did the same of her. Both of them made sacrifices for each other and i've never seen 2 friends performing so well in this type of situation. They're doing the best they can.
Okay, when he looks at Rowan, he smiles at her because she smiles at him, he seems totally fine (I'm totally a love expert *flips hair) when he looks at Sabrina, she doesn't smile at him but he smiles anyways, she looks down at his lips, and he gulps meaning he is nervous... Why do people say that Riley didn´t know Lucas. that doesn´t make any sense. I think that she got to know lucas even better than anyone else. Throughout the serie the told things to each other like when Lucas told riley that he saw a baby horse born in season 1 or in "Girl meets the secret of life" She also knew that Lucas wanted to be a Veterinarian. They really know each other and it´s all that matters

She's liked him ever since and hid it to not hurt Riley, and now that she almost had him, Riley has to admit she still has feelings which ruined it and made it awkward. I just don't think josh really cares about Maya that much. He haven't done anything that shows that he cares. What he talked to her once when he got rejected. That's the only time he showed that he sorta cares. I just don't think josh will make Maya happy and I want her to be happy. That's just my opinion though.
They really wasted season 3 with a love triangle, they shouldn't have made a love triangle if the ending was too obvious (Rucas/Joshaya/Smarkle). And how did they end it? Too lazy to write it. First of all, Maya was never Riley, if she were Riley, would Riley pour a smoothie on Lucas' head? And for all of you who say Maya never stepped back, Riley herself admits in Texas Part 2 "You step back, I know you step back". And I'm not a rucas fan at all, but I think they act more like a couple when they're not officially dating. To be honest? In fact Smarkle acts more like a couple than Rucas, and they only started dating in season 2. And the two were dating due to pressure, Smarkle was pushed by Riley, Rucas was pushed by Maya. And Smarkle learns a lot from each other (Smackle gets more comfortable with hugs, Farkle understands emotions) And I really find it funny how Michael Jacobs is only focused on Corey Fogelmanis (Farkle) reaction to Riley's departure rather than her own boyfriend.

Lucas and Riley are endgame. The whole show is based around Riley meeting the world, and she has chosen Maya and Lucas to be apart of it. Riley's whole romantic development with Lucas isn't gonna be pushed aside, so Maya will be with him. If that's the case the whole plot of the show will be ruined. And to those saying Maya liked Lucas from the start, when he asks Maya if she still likes him, she talks about the campfire, meaning that's when she officially liked him. But when he asks Riley if she still likes him, she says ever since meeting at the subway, so Riley liked him from the start.

Lucas and Maya's story was more natural than Riley and Lucas bc of the fact Maya saw him first and pushed her on his lap, that literally the first and second season was basically whether Rucas was "will they or won't they." Riley thought Maya liked him bc Maya makes fun of him, however, I truly til this day will believe that Maya never understood her own feelings for Lucas bc of her storyline with Shawn as a father figure, where she never had a secure/satisfaction feeling about knowing her true self. But the writers honestly did shit towards Maya knowing her true self with the whole identity crisis storyline, when she was going through her character development!!!!! And they all were like, "go back to how u were in the Pilot episode. The secret to life isn't about people changing people, even though our main topic in school was the fact people change people."

Man, this show really should have gotten more time on the air. They could have explored so many topics. Like right here, they could have explores ethical polyamory. A throuple or other polyamorous relationship would have made a lot more sense for these characters than making them choose. They could have also explored homosexuality, bisexuality, transgender issues, the list goes on. If they had gotten the 7 seasons that Boy Meets World got they'd still be on the air and they'd be able to tackle all of these issues and more which are major points in today's world.

That's actually a great point, she did like him first. Which is exactly why they won't end up together. Unstable. The two had instant feelings, making their relationship weak. On the other hand, his relationship with Maya took time, making them have time to develop real, true feelings. He's likely to end up with Maya.
