Hannah talking about the old man really hits home for me. I quit my job at a nursing home back in July. The most soul crushing aspect of it was the loneliness of the residents. Some literally had no families, and they became wards (incapacitated adult) of the gov't and were placed in our home. No one came for their birthday or for Xmas. We became their surrogate family and I am still proud (even though I don't work there) that I could be there for them in some small way. It was super hard, emotionally speaking, working there and it only got worse, especially because of the pandemic. So yeah, I feel yah Hannah.

I love how Ash knew Hannah would get emotional over the old man's family and made sure to watch her closely

Fun fact: The picture of the Girl that Kevin goes “Woof” to was actually the Art Director’s son. The Director didn’t want to take a picture of an actual girl just to make fun of her so they they had the Art Director’s son put on a wig so they could make fun of Buzz’s Girlfriend!

Not sure if anyone mentioned it yet but the picture in Buzz’s box of his “gf” was actually one of the crew members sons with a wig on because they didn’t want to hurt a little girls feelings.

Two things this movie taught us: 1. One of the best forms of comedy is a reaction. Joe Pesci & Daniel Stern knock it out of the park with their painful reactions. 2. The world would be a better place if we had more people like John Candy.

True story: my late father would crack up just watching the trailer on TV. My sister came home from college for break and we took him to see it on opening weekend which was also Thanksgiving. It was packed! We were in the middle of a huge theater, surrounded by little boys. There was a row of kids in front of us that were having a birthday party (matching shirts) and one of them almost made me have a stroke. I'll come back to him. Anyway, you all know the movie, but when the third act started up, the whole theater exploded with laughter. It was friggin bedlam in there! However, no one laughed harder than my dad! He had the greatest laugh that ever existed! He was also very short and round. I was taller than both of my parents by the time I was 8 (I'm 5'4) by a lot. So this little boy from the party turned around, pointed at my dad, who was in his late 60's, and screamed, "even the big kid is laughing!" I almost died from laughing. My sister laugh-cried herself into a bloody nose. It was awesome! Flash forward to a year later when they released "Home Alone" on to video (for the kids out there, it could take years for a film to be released on to VHS back in the day) and my genius mother pre-ordered it for us. We hosted a "Come Watch Dad Watch "Home Alone" Party," which we had catered and 25 adults showed up, to sit with their backs to the TV, on the floor, just to watch my dad laugh. Best. Party. Ever.

18:20 That's actually right. In earlier versions of the script, they were going to end the movie with Harry and Marv in jail, watching TV. That same movie was going to be on, and Marv was going to suddenly realize where he had heard the name "Snakes" before. The scene was eventually cut from the script and never filmed, as far as I know.

I’m just like Hannah, for some reason seeing old men makes me cry, especially if they’re alone. I thought I was weird but it’s nice to know other people feel this way too.😂😅

It was actually thrown away by accident in the scene where Kevin made a mess in the kitchen fighting with Buzz. Seen this movie a billion times and just realized that recently LOL

Fun fact: Daniel stern, the guy that plays Marv, is scared of spiders, so when the spider is on his face, that's genuine fear. Also he's not actually screaming, so as to not scare the spider. He mimed it, and recorded his scream later.

home alone 1 and 2 are classics if y guys haven't ever seen "cool runnings" u should. that's 100% a feel good movie that's right up your street

He had no toothbrush because it was packed in his suitcase and his suitcase did go to Paris (unlike poor Kevin). Luggage was more priority to those parents than their actual kid, lol!

In this movie, my most favorite scene was Kevin’s talk with the old neighbor at the church - so much light in that old man’s face … just brilliant. This is one of my favorite movies. Especially since my mom tells me, that when I was very much younger I used to look just like Kevin. I also appreciate the fact, that Hannah picked up on just how horrible of a mother, Kevin's mother is. But, if you think about it. How resourceful/mature Kevin was about the entire thing, he was going to grow up just fine!

Don't forget to watch "Home alone 2. Lost in New York" too. It's even more fun

Something I only just noticed after years.. is the cut on the old man's hand, progressively getting better seemingly representing old wounds healing! Symbolism!!!

Never thought that coming back after all of these years to watch this movie it would fuck me up. The bit at the end with the old man & his family, added in with your commentary is what did me in. My son who I raised on my own for the majority of his life started spending time with his mom when she decided to come back in to his life at the age of 16. He came home for the holidays after spending a month at our house. Everything seemed fine and I thought we were getting along because we've never had any serious issues between us, he was always well behaved in front of me and I've never even heard him swear before. He was home for 2 days and Christmas Eve morning I woke up to go to the store to get some last minute shopping done I told him to wake up and get ready because we're going to go get a haircuts and go outfit shopping for my grandma's wake when I got home. So he woke up and again everything seemed fine, we were joking around and everything that morning, so I want to the store. I was gone for about 45 minutes then came back to realize that he was gone and he robbed me for $22,000. At first I was in denial and thought something happened to him, but then when I called his phone and want to send him a message on Facebook I saw that I was blocked on both of them, which is when it hit me and that it was definitely him that robbed me. I found him finally after searching for 3 days all the way on this other side of the city in a bad neighborhood that his mom used to give him the freedom to go to by himself without me knowing the entire time that he was with her. But by then all the money was gone and the only thing he had left to show for it was a single $900 diamond earring that he bought with the cash. I tried to talk to him and ask him why he did what he did but I never got an answer. Being upset hurt and mad all at the same time I told him that his mom's going to come pick him up and that he will be living with her for now on. I told him if he ever decides that he's generally sorry and wants to make it right then call me until then it's better for both of us if we don't see each other right now. To be honest I just didn't trust myself with all the rage I was feeling. That was 3 years ago this past Christmas Eve and I still yet to hear from him and still never received an explanation or an apology. All I know is that it ruined holidays for me and I haven't celebrated one sense. The betrayal destroyed me sending me into a downward spiral that I still haven't pulled myself out of. I go 3-6 months at a time without talking to friends or family, I just sit in the dark alone with my evil thoughts and ignore their calls and knocks. I'd like to find a way out of this, but I just don't think I have a strength to. So yeah the last bit hit a little bit too close to home. Sorry about the long story

Hannah, have you watched It’s a Wonderful Life? Might be a good film to do for your channel. (I love Ash, but I can’t see him sitting still for a very old movie 😂) You two are an absolute joy to watch. When Hannah said she couldn’t bring herself to delete the poo picture I just cracked up. Joe Pesci filmed this right after Goodfellas so he kept a swear jar on set to keep things family friendly. For a split second when Peter is throwing away the soiled napkins you can see a passport and AA ticket with "Kevin" written on it. That's why they didn't notice an extra ticket or passport. The Angels With Filthy Souls movie was just that scene and it was made for the movie. Blockbuster even had signs saying it was fake. The name is a take on the James Cagney gangster flick Angels With Dirty Faces. If you thought the slapstick in this one was good, watch the sequel. Kevin goes full Jigsaw and the crooks go full Wile E. Coyote.

The greatest crime committed in this film. Is that Mac didn't get to enjoy his highly nutritional microwavable Mac N Cheese. I love that Macaulay and John Candy were reunited after Uncle Buck. Even if they didn't share a scene together, the heart was there.

Ash actually the "girl" in the movie that is suppose to be Buzz's girlfriend is not a girl but a boy dress like one, because the producers thought would be unkind to put a girl in that role of just to be insulted.

Omg. When Ash mentioned sliding on the stairs with a mattress, it reminded me of something similar I did when I was a kid and I can still remember it clear as day. School was closed due to the snow so I came up with the idea of placing both single mattresses from me and my brother's room on the stairs to slide down and have pillows at the bottom for safety. Boy, that was a fun time.

One of my absolute favorites. I can't think of a single kid my age at the time who DIDN'T go around the house playing these kind of tricks on each other with strings, little pranks, and booby traps. Not to the degree to inflict this type of serious harm, but it definitely opened the humor option of it when it came to playing around with your brothers and sisters.

You guys gotta watch a the film that started the slasher films, Black Christmas. Before Halloween and Friday the 13th, there was Black Christmas..and it's better. Christmas horror! Oh and Bad Santa..is perfection.

Actually many fans would say that second one didn't come close to the first one. But I always liked both movies just the same. Also its funny that this was the first time I ever saw Joe Pesci. "They would've realized by now...with the passport checks." Actually, they got you covered. When Kevin pushes Buzz and drinks spill all over the place, someone goes to wipe it up. You can see, when they throw the paper towels away, one of the passports accidently got mixed in and tossed, so the count of passports wouldn't be off.

Actually to your point at 9:30, Chris Columbus (the director) thought it would be mean for Kevin to call some random girl ugly, so for the picture of Buzz's girlfriend, they dressed up a guy as a girl and had him really ham it up for the camera. So the kid actor has fun, no actual girl gets called ugly, everybody wins.

Hey Ash, just some feedback. I think you're videos are a lot more enjoyable with just you and Hannah talking. The abrupt memes kind of ruins the vibe IMO. You and Hannah have enough personality, you really don't need all the random joke memes.

All right I've left a lot of comments telling You “Evil Dead” (2013) is the best horror film of this decade. I have another one that is a big contender and it's “incident in a ghost land” Both of these movies are *hidden* gems. Don't judge me if you watch incident in a ghost land. Its a well done movie that I'm completely disgusted with which is the point.

The second one is definitely better cause you can't beat the NY element at Christmas - it just upped the game. But both are top 5 classics for sure:)
