My one and only girl group. nobody still cant replace them.i remember how i downloaded every mv and watch them over and over again ) thank you for this sweet nostalgia
A ballad to consider: Time Machine. Yoona really is walking through a snow storm in a wedding dress in the video...no more spoilers... and if you need "the feels", Divine. My opinion is the ballads and slower songs are the best discography of SNSD. It's all good but SNSD is able to convey the emotions of the song best.
These were their more iconic Japanese releases but that Love & Peace album was just hit after hit! Love&Peace, My oh My, Do the Catwalk, and Karma Beautiful still gets played in my household in 2023!
In terms of ballads, SNSD is vocally top tier, but I would recommend Sailing done for their 10th anniversary. If you choose to do Sailing, check out a lyric video since the MV doesn't really have much (more like cues to their past songs but the members themselves don't show up or anything) SNSD has also done a lot of fun collaboration songs like Cabi Song and Seoul with 2PM and Super Junior respectively and those types of interactions you don't come across very frequently these days (Cabi Song also has shirtless men fyi lmao)
I feel that,if you think their korean songs are good then there's a good chance that you'll find their japanese songs even better. The production of the japanse songs of SNSD is SO fuc*ing perfect!!! Vocals and instrumental in a high quality!!! In my opinion their Japan album B-sides is fantastic,Thanks for the snsd reaction😄 Btw:To be honest, You should really watch snsd's Japan tour and live stage NEXT:1:Girls' Generation 少女時代 'Gee' MV (JPN Ver.) 2:Girls' Generation 少女時代 'Genie' MV (JPN Ver.) 3:Girls' Generation 少女時代 'Oh!' MV (JPN Ver.) 4:Girls' Generation 少女時代 'ALL MY LOVE IS FOR YOU' MV 5:GIRLS' GENERATION - Divine (Official Video) 6:Girls' Generation 少女時代 'Time Machine' MV.......and more😄
Fun Fact #1 When 'Galaxy Supernova' was anticipated until it was just released, we all thought it was supposed to be a Samsung promotion, as the 'Galaxy' series was just been launched during around those years. But in the end, it was actually a jeans brand promotion of a famous international fashion line named 'Samantha Thavasa'. Fun Fact #2 'Mr. Taxi' was their Japanese debut song. It was so reknowed that Universal Music Japan released their own of SNSD's Mr. Taxi but a dancer version one. That video was like unnoticeable since it was not posted under SMEnt's account. It reached more a hundred million views during the time that Mr. Taxi MV under SMEnt's account was around 70 to 80 million.
Live stages Ballad style: Let It Rain Karma Butterfly Indestructible (such a beautiful song omg) One Last Time For cuter/Chill: Echo (honestly one of my top5 soshi songs) Way to go Wait A Minute (more chill than cute tbh) Baby Baby Say Yes Flyers (smth ab the combo of this, way to go and karma butterfly makes me cry but at the same time tells me to get my ass up and go live)
Mr Taxi iconic song, i I still know the choreography😂 i think the same i like super nova more than other song, i love Paparazzi too, well 2NE1 is my favorite girl group but i like SNSD and i respect them, they are the Nation Group of Korea, and my 2NE1 the Queens 🥰🌻
The Japanese ballads with MV’s are Time Machine, All My Love Is For You, and Divine. The other Japanese title tracks with MV’s are My Oh My and Love & Girls. There are also MV’s for the Japanese versions of Genie, Gee, Run Devil Run, Oh!, and Catch Me If You Can, but the last one is just the same MV as the Korean one, just filmed with them singing the Japanese lyrics.
Another Japanese tracks you should listen : Beep Beep, Love and Girls, My Oh My, Bad girls and of course their amazing japanese ballads: All my love is for you, Divine, Time Machine
I’m surprised you haven’t reacted to “Dancing Queen” yet. That song came out the same time “I got a boy” came out. It’s a song they did during “Gee” era but waited all the way until 2013 to release it
The reason some MVs seem more like performance versions is because their Japanese albums and singles would have CD-only MVs, so sometimes the dance version would be released and you could get the "regular" version if you bought the album, or vice-versa. I think the Beep Beep MV you reacted to was actually one of these cases, except you could only get the full MV on the album and no other version was released aside from a short version (a lot of Japanese acts do it this way). The lyrics to a lot of their Japanese songs are really good. Their image is a lot stronger and more powerful there than their image in Korea so they have a lot of upbeat dance tracks. I particularly like the lyrics to Flower Power and the lyrics to Galaxy Supernova are fun, they're hyping themselves up. Galaxy Supernova was a CF song for Samantha Thavasa jeans, which is why there are some booty shots there. The choreo also incorporates dance moves from some of their other songs like Gee, Hoot, Dancing Queen, and Genie. Some more "chill" songs are Baby Baby and Echo, which both have MVs. They have a lot of chill b-sides too, for some recent songs you can check out Mood Lamp, Summer Night, Freedom, and Paper Plane from the album they released last year. Ballads: Time Machine (MV), All My Love Is For You (MV), Indestructible (only has a lyric MV), Divine (has a story MV without the girls and an MV from the album with the girls) -- For Indestructible and Divine, I HIGHLY recommend their performances of these from their Tokyo Dome concert, just gorgeous. Also definitely check out their performance of All My Love Is For You from their 3rd Japan Tour, it's an acoustic arrangement and their vocals there are heavenly. One of my favorite vocal performances they've ever done. Also check out Love & Girls, I think you'll really like it. The choreo is easy and fans join in at their concerts and they invited fans to come and shoot the MV with them. They actually did a flash mob of this song at Universal Studios in Japan, there's a video of it on one of their official channels.
Mostly performance based MVs weren't unusual at the time, you may have heard of the SM box era? Also some Japanese MVs were released exclusively on DVDs that came with the physical albums with only performance versions uploaded digitally!
for ballads, time machine and all my love is for you and indestructible are a MUST !! time machine is one of my all time fave SNSD tracks too !! for non ballads, Bad Girl is a b o p !
flower power is the best, make sure you crank the bass up for it, it's like a whole new level of amazing. They preformed it on Japanese shows if you want to see the full choreo.
For softer sound like you said in the video I would like to suggest checking out MVs for Kissing You(search for fan upload cause SM still has quality of 2008😭), Baby Baby, Chocolate Love and Sailing(0805). And as for more japanese MVs I think you'll like My Oh My, All My Love For You, Time Machine and Divine. Btw Paparazzi has full performance/choreo version(gold set with pink gloves). Also agree about Flower Power and I def prefer Karma Butterfly to that one😅 But most perfect mood makers are their last album Forever1 bsides.
thanks so much for these snsd reactions! i check your community page every week to see when soshi day will be >.~ (LONG COMMENT AHEAD srry) for ballads, it's really only the japanese releases that have mvs so that's "all my love is for you", "time machine", "divine". but there's also the concert versions of "complete", "forever", "not alone" which are perfection. it's amazing how they can command the stage with just their voices. of course, there's "into the new world" (ballad version) at tokyo dome. it holds a big significance since it took place closely after jessica's sudden departure so there's a lot of emotion behind that performance, which can be hard to watch, but in a way that's kinda what makes it such an incredibly moving performance. for japanese releases, "bad girl", "great escape", "you-a-holic", "lips", "do the catwalk", "t.o.p.", "blue jeans", "flyers" and "karma butterfly" are a few more if you're interested!! most of these are only live stages but totally worth it ^^ also, since you mentioned moulin rouge, taeyeon and tiffany did an cover of "lady marmalade" for one of the concert stages and it's HOT w/ insane vocals. plus, it led to creation of the subunit, tts! there's tts' iconic "cater 2 u" cover that is frickin exceptional omg... but i believe it gets blocked so definitely watch it on your own if you get a chance. and i do hope you get to react to oh!gg's "lil touch" as well! i could literally recommend videos and just talk about them all day. snsd's discography is really vast, then you get into subunits, concerts, solo work, VARIETY. it's a lot... but so much fun :D
Mr Taxi is their Japanese debut, that’s a hit. At the first time, I think Galaxy Supernovar is Commercial Film for Samsung mobile 😅, but it actually Commercial Film for color jeans 😂
Mr Taxi had a Korean version that they promoted as a B-side during The Boys promotions. They performed the Korean version quite a lot during The Boys era.
Please do react to All My Love is For You, Forever, Not Alone, Indestructible and Divine esp for live performances. These ballad / slower songs are really something else. SNSD and ballads are really perfect combination.
awesome reaction as always bro, paparazzi always been such an underrated gem. here are some suggestions of their ballads - back hug (live performance) - goodbye (live performance) - lost in love (live performance) - time machine - all my love is for you - romantic street (live performance)
yesss soshi ballads always hit the spot🥹, i suggest all my love is for you, divine, time machine, forever (live at girls and peace tour), complete (2011 girls generation tour)
Great reaction! BTW, I dig how you noticed Sunny. She's not my bias or anything, but I gotta admit she has a way of getting herself noticed. The short hair is the most obvious way she does this, but she has a whole kit of other stuff she does to stand out in a lot of their MVs, stages, and TV shows. Check out "Flower Power" again ... Sunny doesn't have any more front-&-center time than anyone else, but something about that vid made me think Sunny totally owned it, the first few times I watched it. She's actually kinda brilliant in that ability, not to mention having a beautiful voice.
For Japanese ballad MVs you can check out Time Machine, All My Love Is For You, Divine and Indestructible (that last one is an official lyric video but there are concert clips in the background so it's still fun to watch!)
When I first listened to Flower Power, it's the way the chorus was sang that caught me off guard 😅I did not expect it to go that way but I warmed up to it eventually 🤭. Do check out their ballads too cos those are really good as well 😁
Yes please watch their japanese ballads mv : All my love is for you, Time machine, Divine For live performance : Complete, Forever, All my love is for you, Time machine, Stay girls, Divine, Indestructible, ITNW(ballad ver)
I recommend you 'One Afternoon' and 'goodbye'. And i feel you'll like 'check' also . They have live performances of these songs. You could check them out.
Please also check out these Korean songs: 1. Girls Generation (Yeah, the song name is Girls Generation lol) 2. Kissing You 3. Baby Baby 4. Way To Go 5. Forever 1
you mentioned lady marmalade taeyeon and tiffany happened to have a cover of it they did it way back in snsd first tour you need to check some of their solo live performances in that tour they were insane
SNSD's ballads are the best For Japanese ballads: All my love is for you Stay girls Indestructible Not alone I recommend the live/concert version For Korean ballads: One last time Forever Sailing Complete
Actually taeyeon and Tiffany did a cover of lady marmalade . And they have a lot of amazing ballads like one last time ,forever, divine ,complete ,not alone and the ballad version of into the new world
Taeyeon and Tiffany sang a cover of 'Lady Marmalade' live! Also, the Japanese ballad song 'All My Love Is For You' and the music video for 'Time Machine' are still available, so please react. and more ... When I watch modern K-Pop, there are some songs that make me think, "Wow, that's amazing!" However, when I look at their next song, I feel disappointed with the same dance as the previous song. Girls' Generation's dance is always fun with the best dance that matches the song! We want to enjoy the music, not just watch the acrobatics!
Oh ballads? If Japanese I would recommend: Time Machine Divine All my love is for you Stay Girls - this doesn't have an official MV though The ITNW ballad version is definitely worth checking out. Korean ballads: Complete Forever ^They've performed these in concerts so there should be videos out there
No react to this mv Bad Girl, Time Machine, Chocolate Love, Visual Dreams, Al My Love Is For You, Indestructible, Divine (Story Ver & MV ver) and u gonna be too stunned to speak hahahhaha
Please go and listen to their ballad songs. I swear, you gonna love all of it. But I highly recommend you to listen to Sailing, All My Love For You, Divine and Time Machine 🔥🔥🔥
They have many ballads! Japanese ones with music videos - all my love is for you, time machine, indestructible maybe 'my oh my' not a ballad but more vocal focused Korean ballads like one last time, forever, back hug are pretty good
