I think a good talking point for a video would be the future generation of commanders for the schools we see in Das Finale 4 as i think we will be seeing more of them and seeing them taking a bit more of a leading role in the upcoming films, also we have seen some building for this in earlier films like in Chihatan. Also i think a speculation video on who would be the furture leaders for the schools would be, outside the ones hinted at in Das Finale 4, because their are some intresting options for some of the schools
Certainly agree with most points. It was definitely the most action-filled part we ever had. They really stepped up their animation game too and we got a lot of insight on characters with lesser screen time in the past episodes. Though I would've preferred a little more slice of life stuff with Oarai and maybe some aftermath of the match with Kuromorimine and Gloriana, but heck. We got to see Erika drink German beer, so that's a worthy trade off.
I think we will get the slice of life stuff in part 5. And get a smaller battle segment at the end. I don't think that Oarai will lose any tanks at the end of part 5.
I haven't watched it yet, but the trailer alone had me hyped beyond belief and I still hold true to my thoughts that this will be the best Das Finale yet. But I still want to see it for myself before I start making my own judgment calls on this.
Perfect timing, I just watched it last weekend, and oh boy, loved every second of it, my heart rate was going throw the roof during both battles. Just a minor complaint, the explosion sound in the BT clip is a little too loud my dude, would appreciate it if you reduced it a little to sinc better with your voice volume
Some interesting things I noticed. There will be spoilers. 1. When Katyusha discovers that the KV-1 was formerly a Pravda tank, Klara actually speaks in Japanese to roast Katyusha on how she suffered her own Winter War from Mika. And Katyusha never even seemed to notice that she didn't speak in Russian like she did earlier! 2. This is the only show I know of where a character gets character development in the OP! Namely Saunders. We see Naomi forcing Alisa to call someone while Kay smiles in the background. They are obviously trying to get Alisa to make up with her boyfriend! How sweet! (Just make sure she can't wiretap him this time LOL). 3. The skiing section is definitely hard to follow the first time you watch. But by the second to third time it becomes much easier. Also, complements to Leopon for being able to get their gun unstuck. That took a lot of skill and coolness. Showing how far Oarai has advanced 4. I love how the Fins can communicate with music. However, I was slightly disappointed that we didn't get a new song from them. 5. The battle beginning and ending in the same village was really nice. Also, I love how Mika's cryptic comment about the truth within a snowman first foreshadowed them using the snowmen and then how they would be defeated. Mika also forgot her own advice about how being in a winning position can blind you to your weaknesses so that you let your guard down. She "knew" that the gamers were there and didn't think about a trap. 6. I think we will see some major character development on the part of Rosehip as a sub-commander. Up until now, she has mostly been a crazy solo act, but now we begin to see her as a leader. Of crazy crusaders. She orders Vanilla to ease up a bit when she is risking dropping the tank into the canyon. 7. I think the avalanche was a little uncalled for. Do we not remember what happened on White Friday? 8. I like how they balanced the White Witch. She is crazy accurate, but only when stationary. Also, as a true sniper, she targets leaders first which is probably why she took out Anglerfish instead of the gamers. 9. I still have no idea how that KV-1 bounced that 88 shell from Leopon. 10. I love how Shark team and Rabbit teams are now working together. Formerly Shark liked to frighten Rabbit but now they work as a team. Looking back, I can see how they foreshadowed this when Rabbit helped Shark when crossing the river in ep. 1. 11. One of my predictions was that Rabbit was going to use Shark as a ramp to make a jump like in the movie.
4. Actually, we got a new song from Keizoku. 9 responce: So it is cannon the Finnish team mod the hell out their tanks, its the in universe reason their tanks are so much more crasy then the others, for the KV-1 its had extra armour bolted to it, we see in on the turret and just after the Tiger (P)'s gone down and when the KV-1 and BT-42 are chasing the rest of Oorai you can see the KV's got more frontal armour bolted to the front, so thats the reason the KV's taking the 88mm rounds. 6 Responce: Yes i did notice that, also Rosehip did come up with the plan to try and forcefully manufacture the shot-trap the Panther suffered from, which was clever and did work. 7 Responce: "Que the Sabaton!" Addionally two more points around Koume, 1) she seems to have become Erika's number 2 in the German team which is nice to see, plus would be good for Erika as Erika does show some uncertianty at times and Koume's personality is a good counter to it, much like Carpacio and Anchovy. 2) She's the first person on screen take out Rosehip (At least that we are 100% sure it was Rosehips Crusader), the only other times we are sure it was Rosehips tank and she was taken out it was more Rosehip taking herself out, she more hit Momo's shot then Momo's shot hit Rosehip and the big battle against the University team her tank was taken out after it hit the wall if the wall hadn't been their it's possible her tank could have kept going. Which would also point to more of Rosehips growth, shes restrained herself enough to not do something reckless enough to take herself out, which we did see somewhat in Das Finale 3 when she did her "Escape to Victory" moment which baited Anzio into a trap.
Indeed, my favorite part about IV was seeing so many otherwise minor characters get their moment in the sun. I found myself becoming more invested in their stories and abilities. It was very well done. The worst part about it, was knowing I'll have to wait over a year for part 5!!!!
My quick review. Also spoiler free but specifcic Some say downhill battle was disorientating. I dont think it's true My only complaint is the st gloriana fight Its presentation and pacing made it look like the flag popped out later than it shoud even if one tank got hit first Also one tank seemed odd and out of place for me
I really did enjoy this my only issue with das finale 4 is that i wish we got to see more of the Oarai girls back at the school ship doing relaxing slice of life stuff maybe seeing how Hana,Saori and Yukari are doing as the new student council.
Nice to see that Alice will get her wish after all. I thought that was a rather clever way to resolve her subplot and connect it to the main story. Good writing!
I thought das finale 3 was hype af, but after watching das finale 4 that changed everything for me I am also really happy that one of the predictions on who will lead Ooarai was actually true, that made me tear up a bit and clapped that it was a unanimous decision by the other commanders too. Lastly, that reveal during the St. Gloriana vs. Kuromorimine battle was something I was also expecting since it was hinted even all the way from Der Film and the 4-koma manga, but it still made me pause and I had to rewind it just to know I wasn't wrong with what I saw. I am predicting that Ooarai might bet a new tank or upgrade a tank judging from the new OP where Yukari was seen scouting their ship. Time to wait for another year for the next part, waiting a whole year for another episode is definitely the worst part but they always deliver every single time.
I'm really glad you enjoyed Das Finale 4! I certainly enjoyed it too when I saw it in theaters in Japan. I was able to see it in 4DX and actually was on the edge of my seat during the mountain scene. It was probably the best 4DX experience next to Der Film. Commander War also came out today! So please have a watch of that too. I look forward to hearing everyone's opinion of Das Finale 4 and Commander War!
