I just find it amazing that the guy fell right at the beginning of the last climb, almost got ran over by his own team car, and still managed to effortlessly win this stage and get the maglia Rosa... what an athlete! Glad I was born in this era to see athletes like him competing! Also great team effort by UEA to get him in the lead. Bravo 👏

I think he means that he got the lead very early in the race and keeping it through all the stages can be exhausting. For example, so did Remco last year before he dropped out.

Intentionally "giving away" the jersey in early stages is not uncommon in grand tours, as it means less pulling on the peloton for the contending team.

@@mine-bx9if Jonas is the best grand-tour rider at the moment, sure, but Tadej is the most complete cyclist (look at how many monuments he's won). And it's not even clear how much better Jonas is in grand-tours, given that Tadej broke his wrist last year and didn't have an optimal prep for the tour. There's no one else right now who is competitive both in grand-tours and monuments, hence Tadej is unique in that regard (though there have certainly been riders like that in the past).

Pogacar's performance today was 27 seconds slower than Pantani's in 1999. With all the new materials and techs and all. Pogacar today pushed 6,7 watts (human limit. Above this you are most likely doped, experts say, obviously not counting extremely different ratios like Doumulin that pusehd 6,8 on this very same climb but was 6 seconds slower than Pogacar since he was so much bigger and all), while Pantani did 7,11 for 17 whole minutes. You want to know what's kinda funny? This Pogacar's performance is very similar to the first real climb stage of last year Tour de France. Yes, the one where he lost 1min and 6 seconds to Vingegaard. So if there's even the slightest doubt that Pogacar is doped, that doubt should be a certainty for Vingegaard. [This is only one of the many cases where this applies]

I had the same thought Pantani it was a mechanical problem, Pogaçar is even stronger! A fall, a return and he flies away. Then Pantani didn't win 365 days a year, on all fields. No really Pogi is incredible, doing better than Armstrong and Pantani without doping. Well done champion. it's a shame that the others don't train seriously

@@guilhem3742 At least Pogacar showed us he's apparently way weaker than Vingegaard and at least he has some awful days where he loses 7mins on a mountain. Vingegaard hasn't had any trouble on any climb for at least 3 years now.

Others, when they finish the climb, have a very different rythm that the one they had when they started, you can see it on the line. They are out of breath. Pogi, at the end of the climb, has exactly the same rythtm he had when he first attacked, and dosen't even sweat. Amusing. Or not.

Qu'est ce qu'ils font les autres franchement ? Faut aller s'entraîner les gars ! Le mec ça fait 3 mois qu'il domine sur tous les terrains. Il crève et chute à 10 km de l'arrivée. Il revient, il attaque (après avoir déjà forcé hier) et personne ne peut le suivre ? Alors que Thomas ou Oconor ont basé toute leur saison sur cette course ! Franchement les gars bougez-vous un peu ! Après on va entendre des "Pogi est dopé" si vous ne vous y mettez pas sérieusement ... D'ailleurs il parait qu'il a demandé à faire le TDF avec sa fille sur le porte bagage. Là franchement les gars plus d'excuse !
