While Tergrid might be better suited for a stax/thievery build, I feel like Gisa is more maleable since she doesn't care how the creatures died but she can also somewhat neuter graveyard shenanigans decks. That being said, she's still fun at the helm of this archetype and won't make you public enemy #1 when revealing commanders like Tergrid will.

Homeward Path would be absurd in this deck. Just swing with all of Decayed creatures and give everyone their creatures back with the end of combat sacrifice trigger on the stack!

Oof!! Especially with Tergrid on the battlefield. Because then you'd get control of them due to their owners sacrificing them. YES!

@@TheCommanderTavern even without Tergrid in play, Gisa's own exile and steal effects would happen! Who knew that grouphug would be so much fun

@@crovax1375 True! The clause is only in effect when you control the creature. SPICY!

@Maughan of the Dead End of Combat is a different step from combat damage. When the end of combat trigger enters the stack, respond to it by activating Homeward Path. Your opponents gain control of their creatures. Then the trigger resolves and they have to sacrifice their creatures. Then Gisa triggers. Then at the beginning of your next upkeep, if you still have Gisa, you get the creatures back. If you have Tergrid, then you get them back immediately.

@Maughan of the Dead I see. Hm, so I guess it's better to just let them die, lol.

So can we put switch gisa for tegrid or do we have to modify the deck to play tegrid

You don't have to modify it much. You can add way more discard effects if you wanted to since Tergrid also counts those. But other than that, you can easily swap either for the other here.

First, I guess... I'm curious how a mono b deck works :D

Mono-black works by making everyone else not work ;) Second only to mono-blue in that department, I guess lol
