Ey op Simon, me and Mrs N absolutely love Whitby and your videos bring it into our living room once or rwice a week when you upload them. I proposed to Karen in September 2020 at the top of the 199 steps....she thought i was collapsing when i got down on one knee 🤣🤣 We holiday there once a year and are going on Friday July 21st (my birthday) for 8 nights staying in Sunnyside cottage on Church Street. Hopefully we can drop on you sometime that week and introduce ourselves. Please keep up the fantastic work you do, take care from John & Karen.
my Mum and Dad honeymooned in Whitby in 1954 and it was their favourite place too, returning many times. Their final visit was a weekend there for their 50th anniversary in July 2004. They climbed the steps and as they entered St Mary's Church the music that was playing (Handel's Largo) was the same music they had played in the Church on their Wedding day 50 years previous. Talk about coincidences. Dad passed away in 2008 and Mum in 2019 but me and Karen always light candles for them both every time we go into St Mary's. To carry on the coincidences, i wasn't aware of the time when i proposed to Karen as i was too nervous but the second she said "of course i will" to my proposal, St Mary's Church bells rang to chime 12 o'clock. We've always said that was our blessing from my dear departed parents. I put this story on one of the Whitby facebook groups and the editor of the Scarborough and Whitby Gazette (i think thats what the newspaper is called) got in touch and used it in one of their editions. We were so proud. We've now been married 18 months and live a very happy life in my hometown of Barnsley. I love telling that story and hope you enjoyed it too Simon. Take care mate.
Hey Simon Cheers for the recommendation & review of the cornish bakery You can't beat a good coffee, pastry & people watching. I bet you're seen some sights, Simon 😂😂😂 Lytham & Lytham St Annes both lovely, but it has to be Whitby for my first choice break. As you know on a lovely day, Whitbys ... It's a top banana. 😂😂😂 It can get crazy when tourist's flood in & don't respect the place, but I guess it's good for the businesses & the town. I once saw a young couple in the Whitby station car park, Open their car door and throwing rubbish from a takeaway meal On the floor then drive off. Why....???🤔 Put your rubbish in a bin or take it home with you. Chin chin, my friend 👍
Yes please do a stint in Lytham! We are in Whitby next weekend and you’ve zoomed off to the West so I’ll buy a rag mag for you and leave it in the Fisherman’s for you 😂
It’s nice but not exactly the beautiful Greek islands is it I know where I’d rather go for a holiday… But saying that I’m coming over for the northern soul weekender staying at the Angel 🍾
@matlockmeat the guys won't leave you alone either...he'll look for some characteristic of you then make a few jokes. Tell you the mag is for charity then walk approx 10 feet with you on the hard sell. As I said....it's like he's putting any timeshare training to good use
Hello Simon how are you love your vidio of the Whitby bake and yes it would be great if you could do a vlogg in st Anne's near Blackpool best wishes take care stay safe xx
I bought one of them mags off him for a quid once and they're rubbish. Avoid at all costs. Noticed a couple of gypsy ladies offering charms for a fiver too so be on the look out for them as well. I think the council needs to cull the seagulls too as there was 💩 everywhere.
