The fact that you took of her head blows my miiinnnddd! Personally, I never love the ringlets, so I would seperate each curl into 2 or 3 to make it look a bit more natural!

I would highly recommend getting a pet hair wire brush for doll hair, and starting at the bottom of the hair and working up. The bristles give way under any sort of pressure and really help with avoiding hair loss. I would also recommend a hair pick (you might not be old enough to remember those, but they were ALL THE RAGE when I was younger). You can find them at dollar stores. Choose wider spaced teeth. They will help you pull apart the ringlets without pulling out the curl. Also - A Thousand Splendid Dolls (my favorite dolly repair RU-vidr) adds a bit of water-soluble hair gel (the cheap Dep stuff) to water and puts it in a spray bottle for a light holding spray for her doll hair. Actually - waiting a month was probably a very good idea. With a doll that big, water can get trapped, and then you get mildew. So don't beat yourself up too much on that one. Beautiful work!

Another doll upgrade. I kind of wanted this doll but couldn't justify $94 because I thought her default hair was meh.

The Shirley temple ringlets are really cute. Instead of brushing out her hair i would take the ringlets one by one and separate them into two curls, hope that makes sense. I also think that using flexible human curling rods would work in her hair since she is so big and you could choose larger ones to make bigger curls. If you wanted to make her hair look more accurate to the promo photos, I would defiantly put her hair up in a ponytail first, either way she is looking so cute.

Looks great! After a few days, I would separate the curls individually for a new fuller look.

I find that Pantene smoothing shampoo and conditioner works best on rainbow high dolls and it smells sooooo good.

Also, for a doll stand: look into a DIY saddle stand. You can make one with a block of wood and a wire hanger (cheap, flimsy dry cleaner wire hangers are the BEST for this). Use some cheap wire jewelry pliers, or just beat the stuffing out of a wire with a hammer and a round surface, and stick the end in something solid. A Kaiser stand would work well, but from personal experience, the size you need is going to set you back about $20-$30 USD.

Target has the 24 inch doll for 86 dollars. Instead of a tree this year I thought of putting a few lights on her and putting her on the end table

FYI - There is a RH Amaya rainbow wig made for kids that has the same colors. I thought it would be perfect to have to add as extensions and to make that high ponytail like on the package like you did here. It will not work because the wig hair is just like every other dollar store wig/hair extension quality. This comes as little surprise, but the package of the wig says it's very soft and high quality, so while I wasn't expecting the same hair as the doll, I was expecting better. It is super shiny so it will stick out visually against Amaya's real hair. Also, since I'm here with my Ted talk, it's sized for small children so adults couldn't wear it for themselves either.

I love your video! 💕🥰🙏 I have a question about removing her head from her body. I wanted to know if you used the same method on her as opposed to removing a Barbie doll head from a 1/6 scale doll? I've searched high and low on the net and surprisingly I don't see any videos or forms that actually mention a safe way to remove her head or to even see if the construction is similar to a Barbie.
