Just adding on that her final Limit Break is "Final Heaven" and her bar is called "Seventh Heaven," so... the angelic touch is rather fitting for her final Digivolution and final Limit Break.
I nearly died myself when you gave Leomon to Aerith, I was taking a swig of my drink, starting to laugh and then choked on my drink. But besides that another great video!
Idea for Tifa's Mega: LovelyAngemon. Firstly because an Angelic Digimon fits in nicely with the fact that the Bar she works at is Seventh Heaven, along with her Limit Break being Final Heaven. Secondly while the magical girl aspects feel a bit random (unless you count that time Tifa dressed up to try and get info out of Don Corneo) she is a Digimon noted to explicitly fight with her fists and is noted as being quite strong. Along with that it even says in its Reference book entry "No matter what sort of crisis arises, it will overcome the predicament with its spirit of never giving up, and achieve victory at any cost." Which feels appropriate for a member of Avalanche. Along with that I like the idea of her having an Angel Digimon as a connection to Aerith, showing their strong friendship and Tifa in many respects inheriting Aerith's will after the latter's death to try and save the world.
I think for Sephiroth, Ravemon would have been a perfect Mega in a what if scenario where he had never fallen to darkness after finding JENOVA in the Neibelheim reactor. Basically where his digimon would have become Ravemon normally, but due to his fall from grace became Tactimon instead.
I think that a better Ultimate to Sephiroth should be Lucemon Falldown Mode,mostly to represent the duality and actions of Sephiroth through the game,scheming evrything from the shadows,like Lucemon did on Frontier,and the Mega being Lucemon X to represent Sipher Sephiroth Holy appearence like a true angel from heavens but with malicious intent behind,truly representing his view of recreating the planet and taking control of the lifestream.
Cool, Spadamon and Cloud sounds fitting wish Spadamon got its own evolution line, still waiting on giving partners to Devil Survivor, Sword Art Online, and more anime characters. And what about partners for Summer Wars characters?
I feel that Nefertimon would be a better champion for aerith plus its less jarring. Not to mention Nefertimon still fits the criteria for your picks for aerith's partner lineup.
I still haven't actually played FF7, although I've owned it for quite a while 😅. I did spend significant amounts of time when I was a kid playing Final Fantasy Tactics though, so I used Cloud there. Incidentally, it's also FFT's 25th anniversary this month. And with Survive coming out the grid based strategy games are relevant to Digimon right now...so Tactics video? 🥺
why not LovelyAngemon for Tifa? It's a punchy female mega and while maybe not fitting all of her personality it's clearly based on the precure franchise in my opinion and those magical girls can rough it with the rest from the little i've seen was it just another mix up of Japanese Ultimate and Western Ultimate uses for levels
It's an okay pick but I think BanchoLilimon (especially how similar their outfits are) is probably a more favourable pick. LovelyAngemon would be a fun alternate for Aerith though!

Vincent with Beelzemon was my favorite pick. And I feel like blast mode is a great reference to his chaos transform with his Death Penalty ultimate weapon
One thing I hope they reveal in the next trailer for FF7 Rebirth is how they are going to pronounce Cait Sith in the series from now on, they have to do it for dialogue. I don't care if it's the phonetic way or the Scot way of Ket-Shee, I just want Nomura and Kitase to finally decide the defintive name so we can stop angsting over it.
10/10 video, Spadamon is in it so I am obliged to give as many likes as I can... which is sadly only 1. Clouds and Barrets lines work super well, not just for their characters, but also as general lines for these Digimon, imo. On Lopmons line generally being seen as a rabbit, I'd personally consider it a cross between a dog and a rabbit, or at least Rapidmon primarily seems to be a rabbit to me, I mean, its name can literally be read as a pun on rabbit. Tifas line... makes sense, but I can't help being hung up on how weird the progression is. Maybe replacing Dolphinmon with Kangurumon would make it flow a bit smoother, but I feel like the dolphin-motif is too important for Tifa to just replace like that, so alternatively, I feel like just letting the line continue through Mermaidmon to AncientMermaidmon would be another way. Ah yes, one of the most fundamental spoilers of the internet. Darth Vader is Lukes father, Dumbledore dies and Aerith dies... don't google that last one... Anyways, choosing Leomon for her is interesting, but I think it works maybe in a similar way as Leomon being Jeris partner in Tamers, and with Leomon also having a sword that looks like a small version of the Buster Sword, you could maybe even say it parallels Cloud a bit. It going to Angewomon also strangely works in my head, primarily due to, again, Jeris Leomon, which used the powers of LadyDevimon through a Card Slash at one point from what I recall, LadyDevimon of course being a counterpart to Angewomon. For what it's worth, Cait Siths Japanese spelling in FF7 is "Keit Shi", so treating it as a name of a fictional character instead of a mythological figure, I think pronouncing it that way is the safest choice. Anyways, not much to say about the next few except how well Espimon going into Blimpmon works considering its "natural" evolution, HoverEspimon, seems to go in a similar direction. For Hojo, I'd maybe suggest going with Death-X-Dorugamon instead of regular Dorugamon, I feel it examplifies the cruelty of Hojos experiments better if we're going with an experimental Digimon, but the rest still makes complete sense. Yeah, Sephirothmon definitely wouldn't have fit Sephiroth, Sephirothmon is a pretty direct reference to the concept of the Sephiroth, which the only connection the character Sephiroth has to that I can think of is somewhat following it in ascending towards a godlike being. As for the Mega, I'd also suggest Bagramon, as a Fallen Angel Digimon that fell due to tragic reasons, and while I could've sworn it only had one pair of wings in one of its forms, which appearently doesn't seem to be the case, it's still very... one-sided, with its bone-hand and all that.
I love how when you do these series you always give full evolution lines to the characters. Bothered me when some digidestined/tamers had theirs stay in champion or ultimate levels all the time. Here's a question. If Davis, Yolei, and Cody got their own unique crests, what do you think those might be?
I would have gone with Knightmon with to reference to Cloud's belief that he was a 1st class Soldier (as a knight is basically Soldier given rank by his king, in Cloud's case as He was granted the title by Zack) plus the huge sword on his back, then going into ancientGarurumon but more to reference Cloud's lone wolf nature. Even so, still great line choices.
I think banchoLilymon is great. I’d like to think that in a digimon/ff7 crossover official media, the BanchoLilymon would be wearing the same outfit as Tifa
I always love these videos, giving Pokémon to characters is something I love to do and I’m starting to feel the same with Digimon! Can I suggest MadLeomon and Cerberusmon as an alternate Champion and Ultimate? 🤔 MadLeomon works as a reference to Galian Beast AND Hellmasker, and Cerberus is the name of Vincent’s gun, plus I just think it fits the vibe, claws kinda remind me of his gauntlet.

So aerith I think a plant line would fit her easily giving her flower girl and Certa background. Floramon to Sunflowmon to Lilamon to Ceresmon. For Tifai think mamemonX to Queenchessmon would be a cool ultimate and mega

-For whatever reason I completely forgot that Ancient Garurumon existed and was fully convinced you were going with CresGarurumon, for whatever reason. -Terriermon should’ve just been localized into “Hopmon”, if only so we could justify never having that conversation again. Like, even if he were meant to be based on a dog, they made it too similar to Lopmon to the point where he’s definitely more bunny than dog at this point. -personally, I would’ve given Red XIII a more humanoid Digimon, to be a sort of inverse on the standard Tamer/Digimon dynamic. -
Does with really matter who you ship Cloud with when one of them dies and the other doesn't??? I like both pairings so me choosing who is better it's hard for me
I think the Mutant variant of Beelzemon would be the best mega for Vincent. Mutant having a red colour scheme like Vincent’s cloak, as well as alluding to the fact that he was experimented on by Hojo (hence Mutant) I also think that LovelyAngemon would be the best mega for Tifa. Referencing both her melee/monk fighting style as well as Seventh Heaven and another of her limit breaks. All and all another great video Karn, keep up the good work! :) Edit: I like the whole partner line for Vincent, Astamon works great, I do like the idea of Cerberusmon Werewolf Mode as the Ultimate, as a direct reference to Vincent’s gun Cerberus, and his limit break Galant Beast. Werewolf Mode also kinda has guns for hands.
Personally, I can't say that I agree with most of your choices. You've obviously paired the humans and Digimon based on style or themes... but I personally would've wanted to give the tamers Digimon that complimented them in battle by covering weaknesses in some way. Still this was clearly well thought out and shows a great deal of passion for both series, so we'll done! ^__^
Great video. Waiting for your take on Final Fantasy X characters and their Digimon. I think it will be hard for Yuna, since she has several AEONS (Valefor, Ifrit, Ixion, Shiva, Bahamut, Yojimbo, Anima and Magus Sisters), but I would love to see your picks for that game. And... as a side note, I think that Tifa should have gotten BanchoLeomon. Just my opinion, though.
You absolutely knew I had to comment on this one. (I know I might have failed to comment on the KH one but I loved that one too shhhhhh) Anyways I think this is one of if not the best partner assignment vid yet, so many of these picks I absolutely agree with and didn't even think of until I saw them here and realized their potential. Honestly these are some really strong picks and some highlights that I enjoyed the most would be Barret, Vincent, Cid, Cloud, Tifa, and Hojo. A few alternate picks I could see working would be LovelyAngemon as Tifa's Mega, Lynxmon for Red XIII's Champion, and of course the Lucemon line for Sephiroth. Which would actually give him an interesting connection to Cloud because of the Warrior Ten being the ones who faced Lucemon in Frontier lore, with AncientGreymon and AncientGarurumon being the ones to take him down at the time from what I remember.
I like all your picks but for Vincent I would have given him instead of the regular beelzemon I would have given him beelzemon mutant because both share a similar red color and Vincent is basically a mutant because of all the experimentation done to him and then it would become beelzemon X for the wings but still keeping that red color

You should definitely make a similar video using characters from the critically acclaimed MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV, which has a free trial that includes the entirety of A Realm Reborn AND the award-winning Heavensward expansion.
I'd have liked the idea of giving Sephiroth Arkadimon Super Mega (or whatever the stage above mega is called nowadays). If there's any character ever that deserves being given one more digimon level is him even more considering ArkadimonSM's similarities with Sephiroth first monster form on the final battle of FF7 (the one you fight with 2 teams of 3 characters you have to swap between) And... Idk maybe give Cloud UlforceVeedramon Future Mode to do a theme of him defeating our favorite mommy boy?
I double checked. It's called Ultra... just Ultra. I mean, it.makee sense since Ultra > Mega but sounds very mundane and lame. It's Super Ultimate in Japanese tho. Also apparently Omegamon, Millenniumon and even Examon are Ultra digimon. Somehow the stage above mega lost a bit of its wow factor. Way back then it was a level reserved only for 2 super rare Digimon, not 35 (according to the wiki) Agumon Bond of Courage and Chaosdromon are Ultra digimon... Ok I'm done. I'm so bummed this previously mythical stage of evolution is now given to whoever evolves while already being mega, or even to form changes (Imperialdramon fighter, the Burst Modes of Digimon Savers, Beelzemon Burst mode, and so on)
@@OtakuJuanma2 To be fair, Omegamon is the 2nd strongest Royal Knight, and has the Omega inForce to cement that, and Examon is based on exabytes, which are equivalent to ONE MILLION TERRABYTES. The rest of them however, yeah it kinda detracts from the majesty of the title doesn't it?
@@coltonbrown2395 Yeah Omega and Exa make sense, they are some of the top royal knights, Omega is the posterboy for ridiculously powerful digimon and Examon is the most powerful dragon digimon (Still weird he doesn't have -dramon in his name). What really ticks me off is Imperialdramon Fighter Mode. Not even Paladin Mode, Fighter. Gallantmon Crimson mode isn't Ultra either. 😵. I'll stop, I'm rambling at this point
Mamemon to BanchoLilymon is kinda weird when BanchoMamemon is right there. Or maybe going back to the more bestial roots of Gaomon to become BanchoLeomon.
I'd like to point out the Yuffie-Asuramon connection runs deeper since you have to fight a multi-face boss that resembles Asuranon even closer (her dad) in the sidequests to aquire Yuffie's level 4 limit break.

Final Fantasy might be a little hard for kids these days... they are used to have everything simpler. I would suggest you introducing your daughter to Kingdom Hearts, since it uses some Final Fantasy characters, and then you introduce the FF franchise. Just like you would do with food. Some foods go great when the ingredients are mixed together, but alone might not taste as good. Pizza is great, but just the sauce, or just the dough, might not be tasteful. In the same way, you show her Kingdom Hearts (the whole meal), then the "ingredients" (the origin of the characters).

Love Final Fantasy and Digimon so bringing them together just makes sense. Love the video as always Karn, some of these picks were an absolute chef's kiss. Gargomon for Barrett, my personal favorite getting one of my top ten Champions gave me a ton of happy feelings and I clapped at Sephiroth getting Arkadimon. Hope to see more, this was super fun and can't wait for the next vid
Absolutely love Vincent's picks. They are perfect to fit a idea of the digimon digivolution being based on the partners personality at the time that it digivolved
Cloud certainly works, but it feels like something is a bit off. Maybe a different champion or mega? Jesmon, maybe? Barrett has guns for months, if not years, and the line feels great. Tifa works. Pukumon is my choice of mega, as it is a punchy aquatic Digimon. Mamemon isn’t even a bad ultimate for it. Aerith definitely fits cutemon. I am conflicted on the champion here, and would go with ancientirismon for a mega. Red XIII works with the solar god. Yuffie getting ninjas and getting the specific mega works real well. Cait Sith, in my opinion, betsumon should be forever forgotten, and if I were to pick another mega it would be eldradimon in reference to gold saucer or ghoulmon in reference to being a bad guy who certainly isn’t as bad as their peers. Ghoulmon even sorta kinda looks like the moggle he rides. If you squint. Vincent works more or less perfectly, however I personally think avengekidmon. Sid works well enough, but I don’t think that regular gallantmon works. Perhaps medieval gallantmon would fit better? Hojo is a monster and anything but bodily mutilation would be wrong. Sephiroth. It arguably couldn’t be better.
