Native Tonge family was So original. They made it cool to be yourself, regardless of what’s trendy. De La, Jungle Brothers, Tribe, Black Sheep, all had the balls to be themselves, in an art form where showing vulnerability wasn’t celebrated. The fact that most of them came up in the early HipHop scene in NYC (Union Square Ballroom, The Latin Quarter, The Rooftop…) gave them undeniable credibility.
J Beez Coming through pulled me outta church 223rd white plains road... never forget... dude came by church in Suzuki side kick house speakers in back blasted that. Liked rap before but that addicted me. I do remember the tide changing from that joyful inspirational sound to more serious wild delivery when Brand Nubian shifted the game... majority left the native tongue sound behind that's when rap started getting serious more anger..
Loving this one thanks for sharing very information blessed love to all knowledge is power hopefully everyone pays attention keep up the good work just give them the credit and respect that they deserve a game changer for ever 🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲
@15:13 why would a peace loving group throw up an allegience to Satan? Sorry dudes that's not 'hang loose' or 'i love you' in sign langauge.. all of them do it promo photos .
The album Done By the Forces of Nature is a criminally slept-on and underrated project. It should absolutely be mentioned alongside 3 Feet High and Rising, Low-End Theory, Nation of Millions etc.. as an album that raised the bar for Hip-Hop production!
Absolutely! ‘Forces’ album is definitely amongst the all time greatest in HipHop history! It’s bangin and still CLEAN!!! Great for children to understand who the true and living God is!
Yes it is. That album is a timeless classic. Still in my rotation, from day one. I remember going to 3 different record stores, in the snow to cop that album when it dropped. Well worth it!!!
@@RobertDGordon I bought it at some record store inside Birchwood mall in Port Huron Michigan - in the long box CD - didn't even know it was released it was a surprise to find it since I was vibing hard on 3 feet high and rising at the time.... it was actually a sunny day like extended fall in November.
The JB’s song “Because I got it Like That” is 1 of the greatest hip hop songs I’ve ever heard…..I was playin it when it 1st came out & I still rock that shit to this day 🖤🎼🥶love & respect from the DMV/Baltimore 💙💣💥☠️❤️
Sooooo dope ! Bout time the JBEEZ get them flowers !! They not talked about enough in hip hop !! P keep doing ya thang ! Dope show & we needed this 🙏🏾 The native tongues were just different & dope
Great video on THE JUNGLE BROTHERS, they had some classic joints and thier influenced is like wow! and you can see the balance of HIP HOP in the GOLDEN AGE with a variety of sounds unlike HOP HOP today, those were the days! The NATIVE TOUNGES was something special 💯
Time-line of rap is really wild. I always think Brand Nubian drop before Das EFX but nope... they brought the oddity rhyme pattern first. And I always felt the Jungle Brothers lyrics made the most sense out the native tongue.. lyrics got to the point
The Native Tongues Are My All Time Favorite Hip Hop Clique. I See Myself In Them. They Marched to The Sound of Their Own Drum & Didn't Follow The Crowd. Their Style Was Way More Original & True to Their Roots & Personality. Salute to The JB's.
"Jungle Bros." Taught us about being original....step away from your norm & express yourself. Plus just like "Tribe" they brought the forefront of the Africentric flava to Rap. They made it cool to rock a Africa medallion, raise your.fist in the air & rock red black & green & not be too far gone. Go back & listen to "JBeez Comin' Through", "Beyond This World", & "Tribe Vibes"....you will clearly hear how "Jungle" can flow over amazing "Sammy B & Red Alert" produced Tracks nicely......Even when they go another vibe such as "I'll House You (You In My Hut)". They continue to make.grooves that will bop your head, dance or blast the music out your "Boom Box or Ghetto Blaster". You want to give them there flowers....I want to give them there Diamond Cut Mic for.all the years putting it down for.rap & there music is just as dope as it was when they recorded it...... 🇦🇫🇦🇫🇦🇫🇦🇫🇦🇫
Yeah man...Loved these guys right from the start was lucky enough to see them live a few times over the years ..Those first 2 albums were the soundtrack to some great times as a little toy graff artist in the UK...O-Tip on that 'The Promo' track ! Wow, that voice gripped me and obviously I was a huge Tribe fan too...What is crazy watching stuff like this is how much older the artists I was listening to seemed when in reality they were the same age we were or ppl like KRS were only a couple years older but with nothing but the vinyl on the other side of the world we had no clue about anything but the basics of who ppl actually were...
It was the drum patterns they rap on that I like.. it distinguished them from the others. DJ Premiere would do that few years later with J Ru Da Damaja. The distinct drums patterns
that's all I see now bro. It's boule 'house' cats marking the new music to the young scene. I'm sure you know who the Boule are (Black Masons) . That's what the baby Chris guy is (the one who is the mega millionaire now)...who works with the synagogue of satan - even his logo for 'violator' is the basic symbol for the Goat head. (a V) . IT was all fake. and the Islamic thing was a hook to get the rest of the God fearing kids in the 'hood' away from the Bible scriptures and into a coffin.
Naw my brother, the universal Zulu Nation was building a positive hip hop nation and community of Afro Centric street artists, & soldiers artists like ATCQ, DELA SOUL, LATIFAH, MONI LOVE & WHOLE NATIVE TONGUE COLLECTIVE but some went astray, BAMBATTA unfortunately artists are human and people make mistakes & bad choices and pay with there career or life, he has to answer to a higher power for his crimes, but no one is perfect, regarding Baby Bam/AKA Afrika for the record on his solo venture in 2000'S were u claim he's suspect shyt, in 2014 AFRIKA left he jungle brothers 2 pursue an unsuccesfull solo career & went far left from the traditional hip-hop community to establish himself as an indy artist and collaborating with a left field wack producer from europe named Mr. Dero? and creating some horrible alternative hip hop music, the album called Bamboozle which have him wearing make up in the music video with some white crazy chick, no crime in that it was acting he's an artist, he made a bad musical decision with that project, not making an apology for that brother, but he's back 2 form keeping it jungle now a days. Facts peace brother!
@@garrycampin all actuality he was doing version of glam, punk rock and heavy metal. That was where the make up came from, and that pagan devil stuff. It is shame that he got that stigma from just stepping out and experimenting.
