I knew someone with ADHD and ODD. What she describes is not ODD, but merely the emotional dysregulation that is part and parcel of ADHD. ODD is characterised by oppositional and defiant behaviour to any person or authority; it renders the sufferer unable to take on any feedback or advice even when it would benefit them. They come across more like a form of narcissism because they are adamant that their opinion is right, even when it clearly crosses other people’s boundaries and violates their psychological safety.

Yes, it is ODD. It co-occurs in over 40% of people with ADHD. Emotional dysregulation is also a part of ADHD, and the two can exacerbate the issues.

Why are you trying to mansplain a person who was formally diagnosed by a professional. She doesn't need your "I knew someone once" unqualified opinion.

Damn why this video ain't so popular? is it because she speaks the truth about the conditions? I have those myself and without knowing it back then got myself majoring into Psychology and the way the profession is it's a bugger to shape myself to be useful in that profession

My wife of 40+ years opposes anything I say, share, propose. She rejects everything from me outright. Attempting to reason with her leads to her arguing and continual criticism of me. She has a base need to portray herself as "tough as nails," a "Short Woman Syndrome." Worst of all, she has no ability to self reflect. Very bad situation.

anybody ever looked into the life styles of parents leading up to and during pregnancy of people that have these "behavioural styles"?

As an adult, she cannot have ODD.

I shouldn't say this, but I find her very attractive, even though she has this going on. She's amazingly talented, and a brilliant chef. People have issues. I live with someone with OCD and other things going on, but I accept these things.

What a load of tosh...ODD is an outdated diagnosis...basically she gets irritated and angry easily..they are emotions..we are obsessed with medicalising normal emotions.

You have absolutely no idea what your talking about. Parents that raise children with ODD and Adhd understand how very real and debilitating living everyday with conditions like this can be! Its not just a grumpy day. Its complete defiance, anger, aggression, emotional dysregulation everyday 24/7 with no breaks and never knowing how to help your child experience a full happy life!
@dem8667

@shaylenegrekul628 just because my opinion is different than you does not make it wrong. i have actually worked in psychiatry for over 10 years so i think im able to give good opinion without generalising like your comment does without making a valid point...adhd is very profitable for private doctors and ODD is an outdated diagnosis just like adjustment disorder. It is hardly ever used anymore by psychologists or psychiatrists.. They are classic examples of medicalising normal life. Bringing up a child is 24/7 job regardless, and all those emotions u list happen every day whether you have a diagnosis or not. Your comment was completely facile
