Gladiator (Arcade) Playthrough longplay retro video game 

This game really was so underrated and ahead of its time. It paved the way for many common features in many types of video games of today. I think the only reason it wasn't a well known and massive smash hit in history was because of its difficulty level. It was an early stage in the evolution and a really pivotal one.

I played this at the pizza shop. I couldnt beat that fucking skeleton, but by the time i was done a few games, my pizza was ready.

Wow. I remember playing this in Kindergarten in '86. Very first video game I can remember with a "final form" last boss.

I could never remember the name of this game, but I remember loving it as a child. Only ever saw it in one arcade in my life so this was like a fever dream in my memories. Gotta say it actually does look fun for about 5-10 minutes. I thought there was a medusa lady or something.... ah well.

Holy smokes!! I remember This in my youth. My dad got this arcade from someone at a garage sale. I played it every day and night to beat the game.. It would piss me off that sometimes it would not let me win..🤯💥😮‍💨🤦😁 But I finally beat it and learned how to defeat the bosses..😁👍

I remember being intrigued by this game as a kid but never playing it. For years I had always wondered about this game and what it was called. It looks quite difficult. Maybe it was a good thing I didn't sink too many quarters into it.

I played it as a kid now i am 40 and a veteran gamer. I got a Arcade so i searched for it found it and it still imposible for me. You are some kind of martian if could finish it without cheating.

I absolutely loved this game as a teen playing in the arcades.

Catchy ending w skeleton ...

Your footwork and shield work is really good. Couldn't tell for sure if the cheat was enabled until the skeleton because your blocking and dodging was so on point. The skeleton reveals all, though. LOL A few more attempts and you could have pulled this off without the cheat with those moves.

So, what I gather is: Legends and stories spread of the 'Treasure Place', where riches beyond your wildest dreams lie in wait, if you possess the steel to claim it as your own. Warriors flock to claim this great wealth for themselves. Swordsman, brutes, soldiers, and even demons. Only one warrior was deemed worthy, after fighting his way through all that stood in his path. The guardian of the Treasure Place rose, to challenge and test the mettle of the warrior. After immense hardship and combat, the lone warrior claims the Treasure Place as his own, as it's champion. Yet he knows more warriors will come to challenge him for the treasure. And so he stands vigil over his wealth, awaiting worthy challengers... Thus, the cycle never ends.

Watched the history on Ikari warriors and wondered if there was one for this, too, not on youtube it looks like. This was a fun game I liked playing back in the day.

I remember playing this game as a kid. It was tough, but with some skill you could get pretty far in the game. I never got to the space stage, so it was cool to see what the "ending" was. Kind of lame it wasn't anything really story related. The game play was great with the armor, shield and weapon. I remember hittting the other characters sword until it broke and then you could just attack. We always took our time with the female warrior and knocking off her armor ;) What a walk down memory lane.

Laundromat the next town over had one of these. 9yr old me LOVED it.

I beat this only once back in the day, but definitely not on a single credit. This is only the second time I've seen the treasure room.

I loved this game. I remember waggling the stick up and down rapidly created a force field in front of you. Never got past the skeleton boss though.

Loved playing this game as a kid... Thing was...I couldn't get past Irene (the female warrior you fight) for the longest time. After about the 20th time, I got mad. I slammed about $2.00 worth of quarters in the coin slot, hit start, and I just started moving the joystick in all directions, hitting the buttons randomly, and within about 20 seconds, Irene falls to her knees, still alive, and reaching for me as I walked off screen. Apparently, I had knocked off all of her armor without killing her is my best guess. Never was able to duplicate it after that...

This game was brutal in '86, and still is today. Quarter muncher!

Eu sempre achei macabro esse jogo em todos os sentidos. Seja pela trilha sonora grotesca, propositalmente tosca, seja pelo cenário deprimente e sombrio, ainda que suntuoso (que absurda aquela primeira fase totalmente revestida de mármore verde!) ou pelos inimigos horrendos, de meter medo mesmo. Na época em que eu jogava isso (e não passava da primeira fase!), eu devia ter uns 13 ou 14 anos e, puta merda!, que impressão ruim isso me causava!
