I really love therm. I think I like the mod podge one more. Here’s a tip for the resin. You can use a tape border around your canvas. Go around the canvas with the tape but leave a lip at the top. This will help the resin stay on the top.

Thank you. Yes I have been doing alot of experimenting with resin, I have a video that comes out tomorrow where I do just that to fix one of the canvases. Now that I have been doing some experimenting, ( I made this video about a month ago) I think it may have to do with how I am preparing the canvases. I think I may have just painted them and not used Gesso. I don't know if that would make a difference. But willing to hear any suggestions.

@@crazyglasslady You could try using something underneath the canvas. A piece of cardboard that fits tightly up against the canvas should help a lot. Once the resin is cured, you can remove the cardboard. Some people use clothes underneath too but you have to fiddle with that to make sure it’s level. Love your work. Oh also, there’s a product called liquid glass. It is high gloss and looks like resin. It’s acrylic. I thin it out with water and use a torch to pop the bubbles. I found if you put it on too thick it seems to yellow but thinned out it doesn’t. Not sure why. Not sure where you are and if you can get it. It’s a Canadian company but it is sold in the US. I use it as an alternative to resin because I live in Canada and in winter it’s hard to ventilate my apartment because of the cold winters. Safer to use than resin. But your techniques are working beautifully. I think once you iron out the kinks in the resin you’ll love it.

@@jayelleart Thank you. i have heard of and seen someone using liquid glass I think but I think it was in a real small container not like our big bottles of resin. Next Im trying a resin called art Resin, sounds safer then the other ones.

Thank you for showing both ways. I like the mod podge one the best. With my children I tend to stay away from resin. So hard to find time to use resin when the kids aren't around. LOL

Yes I don't blame you. I think I like the Mod Podge one best also. I have a few more cute Mod Podge ones coming out in a couple weeks. I am also going to start using just the brand Art Resin , It is supposed to be much safer.

Thank you so much for showing us the comparison I have found your video so helpful especially seeing firsthand that mod podge works and looks identical to resin!! I’m definitely going to try this technique👏👍 Look forward to more crafty/arty vids. Best wishes, Lisa from Victoria Australia 🇦🇺🐨 Ps isn’t it interesting after ready comments thus far, we all love the mod podge!! I imagine it would be much cheaper the resin too🤔

Yes it is amazing how strong it is. It does have its pros and cons. I do not think it is as shiny as resin but in some ways on canvas I like the look better. I do not think it would work with glass on glass., but it certainly is less expensive then resin.

Thanks for showing us the Mod Podge example. I just made 10 trees using resin and it takes so long to cure. Also, I was using a ton of Ailene’s clear glue to glue my glass down before I applied the resin. It was a messy and time consuming project.
@crazyglasslady
@crazyglasslady 2 года назад
I have never used glue to hold the glass if Im using resin , that should be all you need. Are you doing it on a flat surface? So if you do it with Mod podge be sure to use shiny glass like what I had because the Mod Podge will not make the glass shiny like the resin does.

I’m so excited to try this! I just bought canvas and glass. Quick question: did you paint canvas using acrylic paint? Trying to decide what medium would be best. Thanks!
@crazyglasslady

Yes I used acrylic paint. Are you doing Mod Podge or resin. If you are doing resin I would stay away from the silver spray paint that i mixed with it. but if doing Mod Podge its fine.

Would this still Sparkle if I used beads?
@crazyglasslady
@crazyglasslady 8 месяцев назад
If you use sparkly beads, so the Resin and the mod podge will make it glossy the sparkle will come from either Glass or the beads but you have to be careful with some beads because some beads. When you pour resin over them, they will lose their sparkly or iridescent quality, so you may want to test them first.
