In France, they also make use of small cloches in stores on a table with a lineup of cloched jars of candles with different fragrances. In the stores, the idea is to lift the cloche and smell the interior to get a whiff of the fragrance. It was charming! I was told that the same idea can be used at home to showcase your candle (usually jarred ones) when they are not lit and help the candle retain its fragrance in between the moments you actually light them. Just wanted to share a practical side as well. I have larger ones also that I use for showcasing crystals or other items of interest like my calligraphy feather pen, inkwell and scroll. Cheers!

I love cloches but am only now getting into them and did not know their history so thank you for that. Also, thank you for the inspiration/ideas/varieties. This has helped a lot and I am ready to make my first one!!

I love this! I’ll attest to the fact that “cloche” is French for bell 🔔. They’ve been used for natural history specimens in cabinets de curiosité for centuries, so your nests definitely have their place. Large ones are also used traditionally in French potager as mini greenhouses and to keep pests out! I love your trick for not squishing plants. Will definitely be doing that from now on. 💡

Oh.... THANK YOU for the great ideas! Yup... I love my Glass Cloches! I have 5 of them from Potterybarn that I used for our daughter’s Baby Sprinkle and they were the centerpieces. I also used them as a “ Give A Way” at the end of the Sprinkle ( I gave 3 away). The ladies were thrilled! But would love more ideas to use them... I am always looking on Pinterest. I have the Industrial Spools... I should get some matching ribbons like you had...love that idea! Again...THANK YOU!

Love the crown idea referencing Christ at Easter! I try to do more than chicks and rabbits, so far I have incorporated lambs, lilies, and dogwoods for their symbolism. I have one cloche that I am now super excited to decorate! Thank you!

The first video I have watched of yours, was your home tour. I really enjoyed the video, I love your home and decorating style. You are blessed and lovely also. I loved your fun Ideas using cloches. I use mine and love the look. At Christmas time I use my cake plate to display the many small and tiny bottle brush Christmas trees that I have collected for many years. The vignette of these under the glass dome are so enchanting. It's one of my favorite decorating ideas I do each year. Sending Blessings, Debra

Hi! Loved this! I was wondering if you have a link to the glass cloche with the rope. I know you mentioned Amazon but I was unable to locate. Possibly they don't carry it anymore? I have a couple of glass cake domes and a few of the glass cloches but the rope one if very unique. Thanks!

I'd like the link as well. The only one that I could find that was similar, but seems smaller, comes in a case of 4. Love the size of the one you have!
