This pool table was $12,000 when first revealed. The table itself isn't glass, its actually a synthetic material that looks like glass but feels like felt, this way it functions with the levels of friction that a normal pool table has.
That lady is REALLY skilled. She is a terrific shot; her ability to place the cue ball for the next shot is impressive and accurate. It is a nice table too, by the way.
You would assume that there would be some weird imperfections and flaws with the way the table plays but it seems quite the opposite, this could be a very cool concept if it isn't expensive to build
@Aim4Perfection, if you truly aim for perfection, you should remove the comma after the word "table" due to the fact that it is grammatically incorrect to separate a subject of a sentence from its own verb or verb phrase by ONE COMMA. The main subject of your sentence is "better than the pool table" and its verb is "is". Therefore, there cannot be ONE comma between them. There may be two commas, between which there is extra information. INCORRECT = "better than the pool table, is ..." CORRECT = "better than the pool table is ..." CORRECT = "better than the pool table, which is red, is ..."
+AngrierGorilla I don't play pool but i play snooker, at 0:26 on the red striped ball she hits the cue ball with loads of top and it reacted as it should, i was quite surprised as the cue ball is often aided with spin because of the cloth. Amazing to see a ball react like this on glass. I was hoping to see a nice screw back shot too but never mind. would need to be bullet proof glass though lol...
I'm suprised the glass is so transparent and not rough, but than again, felt is surprisingly smooth, glasslike almost. the difference is that felt is biased based on the direction it's combed where glass is not. The balls react equally throughout the table with glass unless their were surface imperfections.
I hate it now 5 years later you have to spend extra for a non glass case... If you can even find one. Thought about doing a sleeper build but old cases don't have EATX :(
Looks like it plays very close to a standard table. Id like to know if the finish of the play surface breaks down over time and loses friction and makes it uneven.
Why would you type the rest of your comment in English but not her name? How are English-readers (the assumed audience of your comment) going to know what her name is?
@@wernerpoeschl0510 Are you from PRC? She's called Chou Chieh-Yu, or Rita Chou, but NEVER Zhou Jieyu! She's Taiwanese, who use a different kind of romanization system!
I always played on marble table covered with clothed. I am not sure if the experience on glass table is the same. Its like playing carom on glass surfaced carom, it sounds nice and smooth, but playing on it is extra "smooth" and have to have extra control over speed. Plus moving balls below table wont let you concentrate on shot.
@@danielholley1633 no this isn’t slate but good try notice how this is clear the slate on regular pool tables is hard and if it was only slate that was clear the balls wouldn’t roll right it has to feel the same as a pool table hence it cant be slate as even normal pool tables use a layer of fabric ontop of slate
@@Realisticskate I was commenting in reference to the original comment, guy..when he said a marble top with felt on it...it's not marble ..it's slate...dumbSs
Hate to say it guys, but it's all about the concentration, and the see through part makes it a huge distraction, especially when calculating angles. This also looks like a bar table, not a pro table. You can't do that on a pro table.
a bar table for a bar set up. nothing wrong with that. unless the rose woman has some really serious issues that makes her blind to this point. i bet if the people in the video were not asians, rose was not so eager to make such a pointless criticism.
@David M Exactly, pro players and or good players will not focus on "distractions" they worry about pocketting the balls and setting up for the next shot. Just like she did here. There was no distraction she was focused the whole time.
@@gtb_greedy7208 Well if you play Pool the reason why the shots are "set up" is because she did knows how to set up for her next shot which is important in 9 ball which shes playing here, well even 8 ball gotta know how to set up the cue ball for the next shot its called cue ball positioning. Pool/Billiards is not just about pocketting balls, it's also about cue ball control. That's why pros can clear tables coz of the cue ball control/positions for the next shot. She's a pro btw.
If you look at the trajectory and the English she put on the shots there's actually a decent amount of friction on the table for those shots to be possible.
i remember watching Texas storage wars and a couple buyers built a pool table out of glass, it was such a horrible idea they found out all their hard work was wasted...

Glass doesn't mean slick and smooth. I guess if they get the roughness correct, you can get decent results. Part of pool though is the cloth can compress allowing you to jump. So something things might still be off.
@@BaksanaHD man stfu there’s nothing to get. the table is cool but she impressed me more with the way she plays. It has nothing to do with having a small brain you fucking idiot.
Due to the fact that this was in my recommended, I assumed that the table is gonna break somehow. I'm pretty disappointed but also very surprised, regarding how good she played.
