Thank you, Glass Tiger for an Amazing Show @ The CNE in Toronto, on August 28, 2022. So happy I was there. Excellent Concert!! Please come back next summer!!!! :)
I still remember watching this video for the very first time as a young teenager back in 1988 on CBC Video Hits. I was a fan of the first album, The Thin Red Line, and this was from a brand new album release with new music, new sound, and a slightly new look for the band. It took a little bit of time for this album to grow on me when I was a kid since I was more used to their pop-sounding songs from the first album, but looking back this was a great album with a more maturer sound, which I definitely like way more as an adult now.
Glass Tiger is a Canadian rock band that formed in 1983, in Newmarket, Ontario. Origin: Newmarket, Canada (1986) Members: Alan Frew, Sam Reid, Al Connelly, Wayne Parker, Chris McNeill Genres: Rock music, Pop rock, New wave, Electronics in rock music
SO remembering! Back in the days before RU-vid (gasp) or the Internet and couldn't see a video whenever you wanted. I remember actually setting my alarm clock so that I wouldn't miss the MuchMusic premiere of this video! The days when Glass Tiger was the ONLY band, I constantly had one of their albums going in my tape cassette player and their songs constantly coming belting out of my mouth. And my family, friends, and co-workers had no choice but to SUCK IT UP! They are still the BEST thing Canada produced! Muah ha ha ha=maniacal laugh. My but it was good to be young! Love Laura-Lee
I remember those days! You had to wait for it to me on tv. I remember watching Video Hits with Samantha Fox, after school, with a blank tape in the VCR, all ready to record Glass Tiger when they came on. You know what I think is kinda weird? Okay, for those of us who are a bit older, things that were nostalgic for us (like Glass Tiger videos), we experienced them, and then they pretty much went away - then 80s came and went, and there wasn't any RU-vid or Internet yet, so, you couldn't conjure up the things from your past...you couldn't watch GT videos or whatever. When the Internet and everything happened, it was like a Tresure Chest, to me - I could look up old 80s movies, tv shows, commercials, music, everything. But, for people born later on, they didn't have that time period where they couldn't look up their nostalgic stuff. It was just always there for them. To me, being the age I am, that would be odd to have just always had that there at your fingertips. It kinda would have taken the fun out of it, too, if you ask me. It wouldn't have felt like a Treasure Chest if I could have just accessed it all along.
I loved this group glass tiger in 1986 1987 1989 when I was in middle School back then and I still listen to glass tiger to this day of 2019 at 46Years old . Love Glass Tiger . Thanks TroyFrost / Troyster 😎 CoolRiffs😎 Cool🎸 🤘🤘 🤘
Yet more PROOF that Canada rocks!! So glad as an American that I live a few miles from the border so I can hear all of these outstanding bands that never got played in the United States
I was only about 11 when this song came out, but it sure brings back alot of great memories of growin' up in the late 1980's in B.C. (and Canada in general!_)
One of the 10 greatest bands from Canada: Rush, Honeymoon Suite, Loverboy, April Wine, BTO, Glass Tiger, Bryan Adams, Aldo Nova, Triumph, The Pursuit of Happiness, Platinum Blonde, the Kings and Steppenwolf are my tops !
Maybe this song didn't go as far as it should have back in the day, but that's ok, because it is on regular rotation in my workout playlists! i love these guys and "Don't forget me". The whole "Diamond Sun" was a good album anyway!
The rumors are vicious My ears are burning It's been a long, hard day Telephone rings I still got nothing to say Considerations tossed Out the window I feel a little bit wired The rules say anything goes But I don't want to play You said I could walk away Take me back to where My life burns I'm still searching for something I'm still looking for someone But I'm caught in the middle Of a broken heart And a life on the run Took a long walk I went down through the backstreets I heard the city scream Reminds me of the time I run wicked and free Now, here I stand all alone But I'm back to where My life burns One heart One home But I'm still holding on I've loved But I've roamed Now I'm goin' home Goin' home
My dad would say, "How can you like these guys with their sissified hair? " Guys in the 80s were fun & friendly. I'd be afraid to even talk to a guy in a bar nowadays, I'd probably end up with a knife in my throat.
White shirt with suspenders and teal shirt in bar scene..Michael Hanson is super hot in this video. For fans of MH, he will be releasing a CD in the Fall so watch out for it.
The 30th anniversary for the Thin Red Line Album was 2016, maybe as late as 2017, and there was no reunion tour for that. If all the original band members didn't reunite for a reunion tour during these last 2 years, then they likely never will. Even this year 2017 the original bass player was not there for their live shows. The reality is that there is not enough demand in ticket sales for Glass Tiger to do a full reunion together because most of their fan base are now middle aged adults in their 40's who are too busy with so many other things in their lives such as work, their kids, aging ill parents, or have simply lost interest in the band long time ago. Sorry :(
If this came out today, sounding exactly like this, I’d be like wow, what is that?! There’s no music like this anymore. It’s either autotuned or just lame.
My biggest problem with Glass Tiger, just like Journey, is that I have never been to a concert of theirs'. If I could go to Canada to Glass Tiger, I definitely would!!!!
