We sound like our parents now, who back in the 80s used to tell us how awesome the 60s were. They actually were pretty awesome also but as teens in the 80s. The 60s seemed primitive to us. I'm sure sure 1984 seems extremely primitive to a 16 yr old in 2024.
Actually I think the good range of when the crux of all the good music was made was 1967-1988. After that the bell tolled and the downward spiral started.
Yes they did! I was about 3 people back from the stage. I can still see the blue eyes on stage. Wish they could have played longer. Damn those were the days
Just saw glass tiger last weekend November 30th 2023 in calgary alberta Canada, and they were still phenomenal 👏 thank you for the opportunity to hear the classics after all these years, unforgettable 👍
Absolutely. I am almost 40 and I am so glad I did get to be a little kid in the 80s to early 90s then middle school in the height of the grunge era. I miss passed times so much. Today seems so forced and fake compared to back then.
When music meant something. Today's music can't replace or even come close to the music of the 80's. It's truly sad kids today will most likely never hear such amazing songs.
Way back time machine to high school 1986. I was stopped at a stoplight near my house and a girl who I had a crush on at school pulled up behind me in her light blue Volkswagen beetle. We both had the same radio station on, this song comes on. I watched her sing the whole song in my rearview mirror. I am transported back in time to that moment every time I hear this song.
YOU SHOULD. HAVE IT. THE BRAKES. TO.MEET HER. A CHANCE TO TALK TO HER. YO7 MIGHT HAVE MARRI3D THAT GIRL. NIGHTFENCER. GATEKEEPER. BRAINTREE. BOSTON. 636 PM SAT 🌙 NIGHT. ROCK ON. BROTHER. FANTASTIC. SONG
These great tunes from the 80s are so needed right now! It's a cruel rough world these days! Songs like these help take me back to better times and for awhile I forget all my worries.. 💗💕
I know that being a black male, I would have probably be made fun of in high school if my homies and homegirls knew that I like this song. But now being 43 I wonder if my friends and acquaintances from school can now be more open-minded about what music they would all like.
I am 50 and a black female. From the south. i have always listened to pop and rock. Was never a problem with me and my friends. But then again, I was always known as an individual. Was never made fun of due to my activities. Perhaps the problem for you was socioeconomic and not race
It's so weird that this doesn't have more views. It's *such* a gooood song!! And embodies so much of what I love about the 80s. Feel good music, big hair, and of course...Bryan Addams 😁👍🏻
This song was playing at my local grocery store the other day. You best believe I was straight jamming in the aisle! Hands down one of the greatest songs ever made.
Man, this brings it back. 1986, I was working at an art gallery. I remember a gallery opening party, this song was playing. I was wearing my sharkskin sport jacket and one my late father's narrow silk ties. My date was wearing a one-piece sequined LBD, and a green surgical glove tied to a barrett in her hair. Sounds like an absurd thing to wear, but she was such a gorgeous blonde that no one ever noticed what it actually was. All evening, she just got all sorts of compliments on her cool hairclip. Almost 50 years and that memory still wows me. That was the 80s.
One of the best decades for music! I born in the late 1960,s. This. Is real music ever ! Better than this crap out today ! This music blows dust off this so called today !
Marvin, the 80's was a heck of a time to live. I went through every moment of it, the skinny ties, the great music, the...just everything we did. It was very cool to live through those times!
So glad I was an 80's babe, went to those concerts and lit my lighter and enjoyed clapping and jumping and singing along with everyone in the crowd. I will ALWAYS LOVE MY 80'S feel sorry for the "kids" today. Thank you 80's will forever cherish you...
I was 15, was 1 of only 2 girls in school with motorcycles, went to the dance clubs on the weekends & danced my ass off to this music. Those were the good ole days for sure. I’m sad my grandkids will never know times like those.
It's a great song. Especially with Bryan Adams pitching in. Watching the video I know now, I'd rather just listen to the song. Lol, I lived the 80s too, but I have to admit, I had a good laugh at the band's attire.
+Ray Villeneuve I read somewhere that Bryan Adams was a good friend and was around when they recorded it. It started as a joke, but they decided to keep it because it sounded great. Bryan Adams never was credited for it, always saying he ''only had fun doing it with his friends''.
+Dana W I read somewhere that Bryan Adams was a good friend and was around when they recorded it. It started as a joke, but they decided to keep it because it sounded great. Bryan Adams never was credited for it, always saying he ''only had fun doing it with his friends''.
I was born in 1960 and have been subjected to so many different types of music and songs from the different decades. I have listened to an abundance of music in my life and like only a select few groups mainly from 70's and some from the 80's. This group stays in my mind for plain and simple reasons they are just amazing. I live on the mighty St. Lawrence river in the USA across from Canada another great country that produced amazing groups and singers. This group and The Guess who are among my favorites out of so many from Canada.
Just heard this one on the radio, and I swear I could hear Bryan Adams sing "For heaven's sake!" Checked it out on google, and yep. All these years I never thought about who was singing that line until today, haha. I saw Glass Tiger play at Calaway Park outside of Calgary in the 80's ~ Good times!
It's high power and melody almost guaranteed for this one to be a hit. Lots of 1986 memories here, mostly good ones. Doesn't seem possible that this is nearing 38 years now. One thing I like about these videos is seeing the crowd having so much fun. Life can be good.
Anno Mundi The lead singer is cock eyed lol! My sister and I used to lip sync with our eyes crossed and my parents loved it. Oh wait! I just realized it's the big nose with a deviated septum!
David Carter He has an awesome voice! I love this song and "SOMEDAY".....We all say or do stupid things as kids and some even do it as adults. You can call me a bitch. My boss/best friend says it hourly ;) Actually he says "Fucking Bitch" & bf stopped calling me a bitch because he said it didn't fit me, neither did the bad "C" word. I guess at times when I've reached my limits I can be down right evil. I mean how many times, languages, formats and grade levels does someone have to explain something for another person to get some clue as to what you are explaining? That's another problem. Don't ask a question or for an honest opinion then get all butt hurt about the response.
WOW, I didn't expect as response, especially one I agree with. Eyes tell a lot about people, yours are captivating and they say bitch. Please take that as a compliment.
David Carter And, if you think my eyes look bitchy, you should see my mom's eyes and face when she was young. She knew she was gorgeous but her eyes were never sincere so when you look at her pictures you can quickly feel uneasy. Very sad but c'est la vie!
The 1980s was the best decade for music. The 1960s and 1940s were also great. I was 18 in 1980 so I got to experience the entire decade in the night clubs. ❤️
35th anniversary of album release: The Thin Red Line, the debut album by Canadian band Glass Tiger, released on 11th June 1986. The album is most famous for the single "Don't Forget Me (When I'm Gone)", which featured backup vocals by a certain Canadian musician, by the name of Mr Bryan Adams, IMO, this song is a perfect example of how glorious the eighties were when it comes to music: just simply unforgettable, timeless melodies & vibes, great vocals, with a mean key change to boot.
I'm almost 59 and I still dig the music from the 80's... I don't have,"big hair" any more, but I still have all my hair. Lol thanks for the great memories!!! 🤟🎸❤️🤟👍😎
When i was in the Army and leaving Germany. This was my going away song. I have so many wonderful memories from back then . Good friends , good times and good tunes.
I grew up listening to Glass Tiger in the 1980's and it's was just awesome time to listen to music from the 1980's and I never forgotten how talented they were back in the 1980's when they were popular on the radio stations every where in the world
Such memories of being in a California mall in summer of 1987 hearing this played every where when almost everyone in Cali was bleached- blond fond memories
Take me back to the 80's OMG a blast from the past. Saw them and met them had a beer on the bus, the best time ever, they opened for the moody blues. AWESOME
“Don’t Forget Me When I’m Gone”, if only those words spoke true to the one girl I cared about throughout my years in both middle school and high school
You take my breath away Love thinks it's here to stay There's still so much for me to do And I can't stop loving you Oh, can this be true If you could see what I have seen Broken hearts and broken dreams Then I wake up and you're not there Pain finds me everywhere Oh, but you don't care Don't forget me when I'm gone My heart would break I have loved you for so long It's all I can take You, you take my breath away Love thinks it's here to stay Still so much for me to do And I can't stop loving you Oh, can this be true Don't forget me when I'm gone My heart would break I have loved you for so long It's all I can take
I graduated in 1987..... So I got a taste of junior high and high school...this might go down in history as the best years for music and I lived every minute of it,,,,,,he'll yeah
Saw this band do this live in Fresno, CA as Glass Tiger opened for Journey on Journey’s Raised On Radio tour. I even remember the date. January 2nd, 1987. Love Bryan Adam’s cameo vocal in this song.
Such a great song! The first time I heard it when it came out, I was like, “is that Bryan Adams”?!!! It was just so random, lol. He made it even better!! “FOOOOOR HEAVENS SAKE!!” 80’s kids, unite!!
I was 10 years old when this came out in 1986. This song was playing my head earlier today and I had to come watch it. Brings back happy 80s childhood memories.
To be fair, 70s is a close 2nd for great easy listening love songs, classic rock, and OF COURSE....some AWESOME DISCO!! Yes, I said it. You can't honestly deny that bands like Kool and the Gang or KC and The Sundhine band were bands that made parties PARTY
Saw Glass Tiger at Western Fair in London, Ontario in Septermber 2014 with my wife. These guys and gal still got it after all these years. I just discovered this group (very late) thanks to my wife. They had great energy at the Friday night show. Class Act! They have done several concerts for troops in Afghanistan as well!!
David Dimitrie Holy shit man!!! What kind of fuckin demons ever possessed you? No really. I actually respect that level of unabashed honesty to admit that you've actually followed this 'band'......all these years later. Now that's loyalty, my God! No sarcasm here at all, seriously. I truly respect you. Even though IT IS disgusting & terrifying in every way, I can't deny the selfless courage. Also, I'm currently in training to become a certified EMT,...should I check your pulse & blood sugar??? Any traumatic spinal injuries to speak of?
David Dimitrie, it's great that you got to see them in concert. Seems like they still know how to rock. It's also great that they played for our troops in Afghanistan. That must've been great for them to hear good 80s music again.
@@jessicadavis9177, people who work in the medical field need to be sympathetic to a patient's feelings. He obviously isn't. He should get sensitivity training before going into the medical field. That way, he'll be a little more sympathetic to people who hurt physically and emotionally.
Wow 80's was something else. Those were good days. I wished I could go back and live them over. It's nice to be able to go back and listen to good music and reminisce way back when.❤
I didn't grow up in the 80's but since I work with Michael Hanson decided to check out your songs and they are very cool. And look at you Michael playing the drums wow! 💯💓💓💓
I'm 30 and my mother played this song and I loved it. I couldn't remember the song and in a store, this song played. I sang it. And now here I can play it again
I hate housework...who doesn't!?! I decided today to put on some 80's music and clean. holy crap, my house is immaculate and even made homemade potato soup. God bless the 80's.
The 80's were famous for cocaine. If you did some and cleaned you would get 2x as much done! Im not condoning drugs just pointing out the irony. Also if you did a time lapse video of cleaning you could make an 80's music montage. Have your house work done in 2 minutes! Ala the nerds fixxing their frat house!
