That machine would be a late 1986 or 1987 model-that was when KHD started using the sea green striping and silver painted wheels on Gleaner combines. Before that, the machines had bright orange painted wheels with black, white and orange stripes. It was Deutz's way of trying to rid itself of the Allis-Chalmers appearance and give the machines its own. I'm not sure what that box is by the unloader but it appears to be some kind of storage box.
Very nice machine-I grew up with a 1983 L2 Gleaner-was the first combine I learned to operate. Picked many thousands of bushels of corn and soybeans with that old dog. I could hear your diesel singing. Ours had the 3500 Mark 2 turbo diesel engine in it with just a straight pipe off the turbo-you could hear that diesel singing half a mile away. Finally traded it for an R62 rotary with the Cummins engine in it. Nice machine but doesn't sound close to the old one. Awesome video!
