Big shout out to Happy Kat! Thanks for your patience, HK! I really am surprised at how much I liked the Glen Campbell original. I never really listened to him, But wow! And as always, Gigi slayed it and the band was amazing!!

Glen's version was a sign of the times, radio ready and simply beautiful. Gigi put a bit more heart and passion into this. Loved it!!

@@nancyskomars1230 thank you Nancy! I was surprised by the Glen Campbell a lot I had never heard it. Gigi did an awesome job also. I think the difference is the Gigi is not hampered y the same boundaries Glen did 60 years before. Just my thoughts

@@Anothercoverlover62 Exactly! Many singers, like Harry Chapin did not get their music heard because it was too long for radio and had to tailor their music to fit. Have you heard Neil Sedaka's "Breaking up is hard to do (slow version)? Follow that up with Gloria Estefan's version. Very tasty. Thanks ACL, so glad Gigi is singing these classics. Love Glen Campbell, they dont write songs like this anymore. Im not going to request anymore bc i have so many already haha! But im eagerly waiting for her recent performances at the Wish 1075 concert (Bring Me To Life, etc). Remember to use only the videos on Nica & Carlos Grimaldo channels bc they are very clear.

I agree. The violin solo at the beginning sets the tone. This song oozes nostalgia and often painful regrets, essentially to folks like me who have many more yesterdays than tomorrows. Gigi doesn't have the mileage I have , but she and her band manage to convey the message that Glen Campbell also did so well. Gigi is a singer, and more importantly, she is a story teller. By the way I like the way you play the original version first.

@Anothercoverlover62 as you may be able to tell, I am a huge Gigi admirer and have been from the very first time I heard her. Which surprisingly was only about 3 months ago. The rock I was living under must have been huge. I didn't know that "music reaction videos" was a thing until I discovered Gigi. Thank you for taking the time and effort to do these videos so folks like me can be exposed to singers we otherwise wouldn't have heard.

yes I agree Gigi is such a great storyteller. To me she's an actress 1st & a singer 2nd. That's why she is able to morph into different characters & genres.

Happy Kat is back and with purrfect ideas. She starts with Glen. Part of Phil Spectors " Wall of Sound " as a member of " The Wrecking Crew " a group of studio musicians that had waiting lists for their talents. Elvis, Frank Sinatra, The Monkeys, The Rightous Brothers, Beach Boys are just a few of things where you have heard Glen's talent for years. He even toured with the Beach Boys - My favorite Beach Bum. Did I say he could sing? Then right into Gigi. That violin - sweet. Her cover of this song of reflection is sublime. Even I got that rumble in my chest listening. Is there anything this songbird can't do? Love her style, class, and the joy she has performing. Happy Kat will keep you on your paws Jeff. Thanks for the colab. both of you.🤠

@@HappyKat9 Hi. I love kitties. They are verey smart and very independant. They treat us as equals. They show all the time they don't need us, they just like our company. Even after sharing a can of tuna with us they will go out and bring home a mouse or such to share with us. Mutual respect. That's why you can't train or herd a kitty. So in that thought I know you love Gigi, me to. She is in my top new vocalists. May i suggest giving a few of my others a listen. I like Lucy Thomas, Emily Linge, and Connie Talbot to name a few young ladies in my nest. So perhaps nap time you could try one on. Good day my lady.

The chaos with the aftermath of the storms is better but not yet finished I did get the huge branches and pieces of fence out of my neighbors yard and got temporary fence up for the dogs. I had the front yard mostly cleaned. But the back yard is still a mess. Take care brother
