This was one was a great surprise. Love it. A pure scotch in every sense. Also I’m lovjng non finished/matured single malta, only ex-bourbon.

Oh man. Now I’m worried. Was passing through Rosenberg Texas and saw it in a big store called Spec’s. It had a 2015 date code and I had not seen it at my local stores. Picked it up for $50 as I’m often fond of Highland Scotches. Well I hope I find it good.

I'll have to retry the Glencadam 10 again, maybe it was a bad day for the tasting. I can't remember the flavor issues I had at the time. I'd love to hear your thoughts and notes. Cheers!

just a technical comment - you've gotten your audio balance between the music and the reviews to sound about the same level, I no longer have to turn down the music and turn up the review - thanks and cheers!

Thanks for noticing! I increased my mic levels on my camera for the reviews. I was always having to boost them during editing and that was causing artifacts to creep in. Cheers!

Great video. For the past month, I've been enjoying the Glencadam 12 Port Wood which is an outstanding offering from 2015. Unfortunately, this has been replaced in shops with a new Glencadam 17 Port Wood that is much more expensive. One of the "problems" of living in Taiwan is being spoiled for choice and inventory at extremely affrodable prices. The local whisky museum sells the 10, 12, and 15 for under 70USD. I'm always tempted to grab another bottle, but then the Balblair 2000 vintage second release can still be found on the shelf for less than 65USD. It's a burden. ;)

@WhiskyRiffs 2 года назад
What a trooper you are for shouldering such a burden! ;) My wife and I are planning to move to Italy or Portugal in the next year or two and I'm a bit worried about the availability of some whisky expressions. If we choose Germany, I'm sure the selection would be wonderful. Cheers!

Someone recommended this when I said I was looking for a more mature rounded Classic Laddie. Guess this isn’t it haha? Any recommendations?

My recommendation isn't cheap: Signet. But if you get to taste a dram, you might love it. I have a couple of reviews (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-6RGCKh2AdNk.html and ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-E_wnqGX84RE.html). Cheers!

Hey are really nice. From the 10, 15 , 21, 25. I just love the nose on it. Loads of red apple. I loved doing a review on them all. Nice review. Cheers

Thanks! I agree with the nose, it was wonderful. And I must have liked it enough last year to drink half the bottle. I’ll keep an eye out for your video. Cheers.

Thank you for the compliment! If you like apple notes, I always get that on the nose with Green Spot Irish Whiskey.

My issues with the Glencadam 10 might have also been that moment in time. I'll have to dig out that bottle and taste it again. Cheers!

Hello from the UK. Like your reviews, guitars are good and motorbike to boot; what’s not to enjoy? Perhaps your missus got to the Glencadam 10, first?

Hello, Nigel! Well, if you consider Specialized Turbo Vado 5.0 e-bikes as "motorbikes" then we do those too. I'd be fine if Judy wanted my whisky, but she's more of a wine drinker. ;) Cheers!

No need to be embarrassed... You have tasted so many it is hard to remember them all; this is why I use a tasting tracker spreadsheet that was provided by Aqvavitae.

I wasn't thrilled by this whisky, I wouldn't buy it again. I also still have half a bottle, It's been sitting in the cabinet for two years.

@@WhiskyRiffs what’s your favourite Highland Scotch no older then 12 years?
@WhiskyRiffs
@WhiskyRiffs 2 года назад
@@oliverburns1984 That's a tough question to answer, Oliver - I love so many of them. I would say the Glenmorangie Quinta Ruban, but that switched from a 12 year to a 14 year a couple years back. The Aberlour A’Bunadh is a sherry bomb favorite of mine and is NAS. For the price, it's hard to beat the Glenfarclas 12. I'm always buying another bottle of that along with their 25 year expression. Cheers!

@@WhiskyRiffs looks like Glencadam is just not you whiskey profile , all whiskeys u mentioned have sherry or port finish . I’d say Glencadam is in the same group as Deanston Virgin oak , Clynelish and AnCnoc light and floral.
@WhiskyRiffs
@WhiskyRiffs 2 года назад
@@oliverburns1984 I have owned a Deanston Virgin Oak (maybe I still do?), which is an interesting comparison. Floral isn't one of my go to notes though. Cheers!
