Does giving "everyone" the benefit of the doubt include Tim Ballard? Or just the high-ups and heads of the church's media department when they release email statements to VICE? Some implications can be uncomfortable, especially when they call into question dogma. Truth is almost without exception uncomfortable.

OUR, the organization that Tim founded found the has found that the accusations of sexual abuse of female members of the group are well enough founded that they kicked him out. One of Tims friends has publicly said that he hopes that Tim gets back on the right track.

There is no official Church statement. Reporting before all the facts are known is a dangerous game. Of course, the church denounces deception, lies, and evil, no matter the source. If you expect them to name every evil person, its a very long list.

First off Tim Ballard isn’t a “child rescuer”. Personally as an adoptee I would go as far as calling him a human trafficker due to his family adopting children from a Haitian orphanage. But I do agree that it’s a little odd to call him out and not Lori and Chad or Jodi Hildebrandt.

Interview Hatian kids without the opportunity. Interview the neighbors to see if the kids seemed happy. Smith)...meaning he's a poster boy for Mormon nepotism in high places. Hard to find information now, but I seem to recall that his dad was quite close to church leaders and may have had some kind of arrangement with the church with regard to supplying automobiles for the leaders. His daughter married into the billionaire Huntsman family. Russell M. Nelson's son-in-law was also an executive for the Huntsman group and is now a General Authority. The ordinary members of the church don't really understand that the leaders mostly come from a few well-connected and interconnected families...and the leaders think of the commoners as...well...commoners...or perhaps livestock.

He came to my stake around 2016. I was so desperately wanting to hear something inspiring from an apostle of the lord. Zzzzzz. It was the most boring, content poor, verbal nonsense.

I would think glenn beck would no longer be active LDS when making such a powerful statement against some of the church's actions. I remember when he would actually talk about general conference or president hinckley on his radio show. back them, he had nothing but good things to say about the church. a true believer that was for sure.

Tim is a Mormon not Christian. He used a wirthy cause to indulge his sexual wants and cheated on his wife regularly using hand picked women and using donated funds fir 5***** hotels,resorts, alcohol, drugs, etc. He's predatory and abused the trust of many LDS women and those donating $$$$.

One of the many accusations Tim has received is that during operations he would use a "couples" cover. This would involve using a female volunteer to pretend to be his wife. They have stated that he would use that as an excuse to "share a bed" and shower together under the pretext of maintaining their cover. When Tim has spoken in his own defense, all he said about it is that it is an important way to maintain your cover and confirmed that it was something he has done, but didn't specify what was involved in that. Depending on how it was approached, if the female volunteer was fully informed as to what would be required of them beforehand, he would be in the clear. If he did not make sure they knew beforehand and sprung things on them, that is sexual assault. Without drawing conclusions myself here, one of Tims friends has made a video stating that he hopes his friend can make the changes he needs to in order to make himself good with God.

So you and Tim are both just as guilty as the things you are accusing others of? Cuz for Tim at least, it's getting proven that he sexually assaulted women and caused more children to be introduced to trafficking....so... you're admitting you too, huh?

As I recall around 2007-2010 Glenn went pretty hard with end of days stuff echoing Ezra Taft benson on his Fox News program. He floated ideas about Armageddon prophesy. I wasn’t surprised when his fox program was cancelled shortly after.

I always thought Monson was kind of a joke. But as a guy who spent his whole life working for the church (including church-owned enterprises)...or perhaps more accurately working the church to his benefit...he kind of knew how to keep the members lulled into a feeling of security and complacency. I'm sure his ego was huge, but he knew how to present himself in a "regular guy" kind of way that was disarming. Nelson was no doubt a brilliant cardiologist and surgeon back in his prime. But he was apparently catapulted into a high-ranking position through his special relationship with Spencer W. Kimball. There's no indication that he's a really good "people person". His ego is constantly on display. Right off the bat, he basically decreed that all his predecessors in leadership had been giving victories to Satan by promoting the use of the nickname "Mormon". Thanks to Nelson, even the "Mormon Tabernacle Choir" lost all the brand value that had been built up over generations. It was like watching the kinds of unimportant things that an egotistical boss would obsess over when asserting dominance as soon as he gets power. Nelson seemed to be particularly obsessed with changing the names of things. Even "home teachers" had to be replaced with "ministers" or something like that. Nelson doesn't seem to be a big picture guy. He doesn't seem to have any good instincts or feel for the way things look to people who don't worship him as a "prophet". It's just ego, ego and ego. "Who's the boss??? I'm the boss!! Don't forget it!" That kind of stuff.

I’m still “lurking around” because my son is a bishop and I have a granddaughter on a mission. While the church is not part of MY life, it is very much a part of my families’ ! I am very happy, thank you very much. I like to stay in touch with what is happening in the church because I never know when/if someone else will leave. I don’t know about you; but I had zero support when I left and it was painful. I don’t intent for that to happen to my family should they make that decision, some day…
