Hi there rilfans.
Today we are exploring the METRA UP-W line through Glenn Ellyn.
It was a relatively slow start but later in the afternoon it was one after the other. I was bound by time so could not stay any longer and then my Metra train back to Chicago was cancelled due to a technical problem, as well as the next train, so ended up taking an Uber back to the hotel. Anyways, here are the trains.
Not too many exciting trains in this one, unless you are a huge GEVO fan, and no EMD's either, at least no freighter EMD's. Then why watch the video? Because they are freight trains and they are awesome regardless...
The first train, is actually a combination of 3 trains, has 3 GE's up front
#6265 is a C44ACM, #7440 is a C45ACCTE and #7264 is a C44ACM
You will miss a few cars because METX 35 was rude enough to block the view for a little while. #87 is a EMD F59PHI
With the METX out of the way there was a clear shot again but the train had to stop for traffic ahead. Amazingly there was a flat bed car right about where I was so I was able to shoot the train passing behind. Magic.
The train passing behind had #6689 a C44ACCTE and #7974 a C45ACCTE
The last one for today, into the sun because I was waiting for my METRA Train back to Chicago that never showed up, #7883 and #7800 both C45ACCTE's
As you might have noticed, UP uses different model designation than GE uses. If you would like to know what GE designation come with these you can check at TheDieselShop or sites similar to that.
