Ever wondered how to pump that big bocket of magma?
Are you dissatisfied with your piping situation?
Hey Everyone here we go! Instant Liquid Transport!
This is my Glitch-Pump that teleports any Liquid
(exept visco Gel because it doesnt flow)
instantly vertically to the last connected tile.
You can hook up infinite storages or whatever you like.
The transport rate is around 350 kg every 1 second per pump.
The Energy consumption is miniscule compared to the classic liquid pump.

How this works:
Liquids that are in movement (falling) don't get deleted when pushed into a tile via a door.
I found that out last year or so when building a floor cooling mechanism
but couldn't find the reason and forgot about it
until i build my Volcano Material Extractor ( • Volcano Material Extra... ) last week
and magma always endet up on top of the insulation until i changed the door placement.
Pitfalls:
1. This is heavily lag influenced. So the stronger your PC the less problems i guess.
When the game makes an autosave or freezes for a second
it can be that water ends up in the chamber down below.
Thats what the fail-safe pump is for.
2. Don't use 10x or Dev-Mode-Game-Speed when using the Glitch-Pump it screews with the timings.
3. If the water in the chamber with the pump reaches 2 tiles high your game-speed is too high.
4. Changing the Values of the Timer-Sensor can lead too problems but is possible in a very narrow range.
5. Water that is not falling but filled in with open doors WILL be deleted by te game.
Tips:
1. The timer-sensor values can be changed depending on your PC but these
settings worked for me at 1x,2x,3x Speed.
2. When sucking up a whole water planet I had to use 2x speed and one more door.
Pitfalls:
Changing the Values of the Timer-Sensor can lead too problems.
Materials:
Depending on what you want to pump. Magma = everything possible out of steel
(the fail-safe pump still won't survive for long if magma ends up there (but it shouldn't end up there anyway)
Sensor / Building Settings:
Timer-Sensor: 0.8 Green / 0.8 Red

I think we can use this to directly teleport hot nuclear waste from an underground reactor right up to the rocket launch pad for radbolt recharging. Going to test.
@Luma_plays
@Luma_plays 3 года назад
Nice Idea. I tested to create an infinite radbold loop with small amounts of nuclear waste, but the radbold generation wasn't very great. Where as the amounts produced by the Nuclear generator could be of impact (whether for engines or other use cases).

It was hard to believe there was a useful tutorial in this game that wasn't 20minutes long....but it does exist.

absolutely amazing to me the highly technical builds the community is able to come up with. i still struggle to build mechanical filters, while y'all are exploiting game code to drain entire planets in a day.

Hey Guys it is finally here: the method to transport Magma fast (with just steel) and other liquids all the way from the bottom of your base all the way up to space, while beeing energy efficient. CHECK the DESCRIPTION for more Information on the Pump!

Hehe thanks. Not sure where you get the 18 minutes from though 1 cycle in game is = 600 seconds. How lomg your PC needs for those 600 seconds is kind of random xD If you watch my let's play episode 14 there i am storing a water planet as well but with less material and another method :)

I have no clue. I found that out last year or so when building a floor cooling mechanism (Water endet up in a closed room) but couldn't find the reason and forgot about it. Last week when I build my Volcano Material Extractor i rediscovered that. The magma always endet up on top of the insulation until i changed the door placement. Then i looked how i can consistently replicate it without deleting water. And found that when it is falling it will be displaced without loss. Must be a game mechanic to prevent Geysers and Stuff from deleting Material when a frozen biome is close maybe?!

its an old bug since the beginning of the game. I even recall once I saw it years ago being used with shove voles to control where regolith would appear above a tile thats above the door for pips planting then moving the door over a space for the next regolith to pop up above edit: this glitch also deletes about 25-30% of the original mass
@Luma_plays
@Luma_plays 3 года назад
Hi @@maireen3517 good to know that this doesn't seem to get fixed :D. There is no deletion with liquids in this version. You only delete liquids if they are stationary. If they fall as you see in the example with the 4000kg water, then there will be no deletion.

Dont think ill use it, but might come in handy, though if thers blocks all the way up to space and some regolith in the 2 last block op in the red, then what happens? Also does it work both in normal game and dlc?
@Luma_plays
@Luma_plays 3 года назад
Hi Silas. Regolith seems to be no problem it can cross natural tiles. I had to retest that. Thought is was only build ones. I don't know if it works in both the DLC and the base game. But since i discovered the first glitch in the base game there is the chance of it working there too. Someone has to confirm that though.

Discovered the channel yesterday, enjoying the content! Quick general question: can you share the layouts (piping automation etc) for an easier quicker reference when building this kinda stuff in game?
@Luma_plays
@Luma_plays 3 года назад
Hey Giorgio. Thanks. No for now I did not. Sometimes there is more background in the discord but I don't have a place to put the layouts / overlays at the moment. Thanks for the suggestion. Maybe I put that in a extra discord-channel or a patreon at some time.

What part of this ensures that the liquid populates in the designed container up top?
@Luma_plays
@Luma_plays 11 месяцев назад
Heyhey. The falling liquid (as an entity) will -when a door closes on them- look for the first tile-less spot above it. It will then appear there.

Hi Fabio I actually already made 3 videos. 2 shorts and one Lets play for aquatuner setups. Or do you mean something other than that? Check out the #short playlist (ru-vid.com/group/PLGygOKAJH72_2K9Ky9Y1Ui2fhkqcfEz1W) maybe there is something that helps :)

thank you, I'll do some research, it's just that I'm suffering from a heating problem at the base, I can't cool the water and the environment, but thanks for the tip, I'll look for it
@Luma_plays
@Luma_plays 3 года назад
@@cepahkoll If the environment keeps heating up the base try to insulate the hot walls/parts. Then cool your oxygen supply. That could slowly reduce the heat overall. Good Luck with your base :)

It reminds me the setup to destroy gas. Does it transport Gas? Or is it destroyed? Or moved to another direction? What about Sand?
@Luma_plays
@Luma_plays 11 месяцев назад
Doesn't transport gases. They are no falling entity. I think if they are trapped inside they will be destroyed. which shouldn't be too much of an issue since you either have a liquid above preventing gas from coming in or you are in a vacuum. Sand while it is falling is a good question but not relevant for the setup since you cannot get falling sand into the correct spot while at the same time having the top blocked. Maybe if you open the doors and fill them with sand and then time the drop correctly. Hope that helped :)

@@Luma_plays Thank you very much. I was having trouble of getting random pools of water inside of my base once. This setup gave me a clue. Never gonna put doors inside of an Ice Biome ever again. XD

@@Lorens4444 Random pools of water can also be from melting ice and from steam condensating. 2 more options that can annoy the player :D

How does this work? Is the pump and pipes necessary?
@Luma_plays
@Luma_plays 2 года назад
The pump and piping is not necessary. If you have lag some water falls through the setup. Falling water gets transported lossless upwards. If you would open all the doors for a longer time fill them with water and then close them you would destroy most of the water. BUT if the water is FALLING this is basically lossless.
