What an awesome video. Thanks for all this information in one place and getting right to the point. I am so sick of all the intros that take an entire minute and everyone acting like they're on a TV show. I love these straight to the point videos where I dont' have to sit through 10 minutes of blabbing about nonsense.
I love these videos. My local FFL just ripped me a new one that NONE of this was possible. Admittedly, he HATES Glocks, so I believe he turned a blind eye to how versatile they can be.
@@baron8107 // I carry the Glock model 41 in 45 caliber but wish to convert to the 460 which is a round that mimics the 44 magnum in revolvers . All that it takes is replacing the barrel and spring 🔫
Currently my Glock 20sf has the Stormlake 40sw conversion and i just ordered a Advantage Arms 22lr kit, one gun 3 cartridges i love it, 10mm, 40sw and 22lr. Glock nailed it. Happy Holidays and God Bless!!
Great video! I've done something similar with my 20. I have a factory 21 slide and barrel for 45 acp, and a 460 Rowland barrel and spring for that. The stock 20 slide houses a Lone Wolf 40 S&W barrel, and I've got a Lone Wolf Longslide for the 10mm and 9x25 Dillon. What I really like is that Longshot and Blue Dot powder will work with all these cartridges! I think I'll look at the Mech Tech, but It's going to be hard to decide between 45 ACP, 10 mm, or 460 Rowland! Thank you!
Sir Jeff...thanks so much for sharing. This answered a BIG compatibility question that I had between the gen4 frames and gen3 slides. I hope that the .50GI conversion will ALSO work on a G20/21 gen4 frame, as well.
You mention that the 40 Super is perhaps a 460 Rowland necked down, it actually isn't. The 40 Super's parent case is the 45 Winchester Magnum but with increased thickness of the cartridge web area up to the shoulder. Supposedly stronger than the 45 W.Magnum case. Great video showing all the very interesting available conversions.
Holy crap, why didn't I see this video before I purchased my Glock 21 and 41 !!! Now, after working hard and saving hard in a few years will get myself a G-20 and G-40 with all the conversion barrels and springs. Thx for making such awesome video and sharing it with the rest of the world :)
+Antoua B Thanks for the feedback. Really all you need to do is buy a Glock 20 slide and problem solved. There is a guy in Illinois all the does is guy new Glocks and sell them as parts if you want a Glock slide or you can call Luke Johnson at Lone Wolf and get a slide from them like i did. They are about $300.00
+Antoua B You can get a lone wolf or kkm 10mm conversion barrel for your 21 or even better yet get a 460 rowland which is more devastating. Be willing to reload though as all of the boutique ammo is expensive to shoot on the regular. I believe most of the major brands (Lee, Dillon, RCBS, etc) make dies for the most popular boutique loads (10mm, 9 x25, 460 rowland, etc.) Keep your 21 and 41, their frames are exactly the same as the 20 and 40. Extremely good firearms!
The Glock 21 and Glock 20 have the same frame. You can do every conversion he did with your Glock 21. Now doing that with your Glock 41 is a different story. So relax. As long as you have the Glock 20/21 you can do everything.
Of the list of conversions listed for both, the only two you can not do are the 9mm & 38 Super, but you can get conversion barrels to do the: 357 Sig, 9x25 Dillion, 40 S&W, 10MM, 400 Corbon, 40 Super, & 460 Rowland. That is why I chose the model 21 in 45 ACP.
I'd like to mention that all these conversions are available for 1911s also. Everything from 22 to 50GI. Single stack or double stack. In officer, commander and government sizes as well. From dozens of different manufacturers. In dozens of different finishes. In prices ranging from $400 to $4,000+. In steel, titanium, polymer, stainless, nickel. In a wide range of quality. With so many accessories and parts it's mind boggling. You can find them everywhere in the world and parts for them everywhere in the world. There is no handgun more versatile and diverse than the 1911.
Nice video! Thanks a lot! I never knew i had so many options with My Glock 20! I just bought the conversion barrel for .40 from lone wolf. I am gonna get some more of these as well!
Thank you for the info on the Glock 20 conversions. I think i will be going with the 9x25 dillion or the 357 sig. I have a 30 converted to 40 super with a kkm barrel & comp and it shoots like a kitten with the comp. I did have to go with a 23 lb Tungsten Spring due to the fact there is so much pressure in that round it bent 3 flanges on standard springs. Have a great day Sir!!!
sarinasepbaby11 Thanks so much. I love the 9x25 Dillon have gotten a 90 grain over 2000 fps in my Glock . 40 Super is a great round as well i decoded the Double Tap ammo in a video as well .
You left out a couple of calibers. You left out .357 sig conversion barrel. You left out the .45 gap conversion barrel. And you left out the glock 20/21 Guncrafter Industries .50 cal conversion barrel. Also you can shoot .40 out of the 10mm barrel with no problems. I think i have also seen .22 and .22lr conversions as well.
Great Vid. This is why I bought a G20 and G21. SO I could have the conversions. One thing I would say... I haven't had to modify any magazines for ammo to function correctly. I have added 9x18, 9x23, 380, and 50 to my collection.
Hello Mr. Kelley, I would like to express my appreciation for your time spent with producing such an informative and in depth look at conversation options for the Glock 20 gen 4. Yesterday I purchased my first Glock, G 20 gen 4, and had no idea to the possibilities ahead. Again, thank you so very much as I look forward to your many upcoming vids.
For anyone wanting to do this, I would only do the top 2 conversion for the Glock 20 or 29, and that's the 40 & 357 Sig. Just 2 barrels and you just use the same magazine.
DAN LAROCA the stock barrel/spring and mags will shoot 40sw you dont need anything extra...i have a 29sf and after getting proficient with it using 10mm i mainly shoot 40sw out of it since 10mm is so damn expensive...im praying LW makes a 9mm conversion for my model! i had no idea this was an option...however the upper slide is MUCH beefier/heavier than any of the 9mm models so i can see that potentially causing a cycling issue even with the replacement spring... also, how exactly do have to modify the 10mm mags? Anyone have any experience with the 9mm conversion? any info would be appreciated...im DEF doing it if its reliable!!
None of these conversions needed ejector swaps? I've heard of other conversions requiring this because of something about the breech face differences. Any insight?
Yeah you need ejector swaps. This guy is ignoring it. I dont think what he is doing is a good idea. Yeah sure, 11 calibers, but pretty none of them are reliable. The case of the glock 23 is different. 9mm and 357 sig dont need ejector swaps. Also these glock 20 and 21 wont take 9mm or 40sw mags you need conversion mags I think. Honestly this video is misleading.
I wonder if that carbine thing can be made Ca legal? I never even knew it existed until i saw this. I wonder if its in the same ball park as the micro roni kits?
I have been to the range on Mr. Kelley's jacket many times. It is a great range, but it is in Los Angeles county, which probably has more lawyers per capita than any county in the known universe.
Yah...me to..if only they still existed...cant find a 9mm conversion nowadays as well as others.Dont know what happened but they now show as discontinued @ lone wulf. Others dont carry it either. Shame..was the reason I bought the gun.
@@killervztwogaming5796 Why spend $1,200 on this when you could just buy a used .50AE Deagle, or a brand new one for not much more. To each their own...
Someone should make a barrel for the 7.62X25 Tokarev as well. Very hot round, available as surplus so much cheaper than the loaded wildcat rounds. Good video, but the acoustics were poor.
I own Glock 20C 22C, 23,24C, 27. I have fired .40 SW out of my 20C 10mm without any problems. The only difference between 10mm and .40sw is the length of the cartridge, The 10mm is about 1/8 in longer to accommodate more propellant. The 10 mm has a stiffer recoil spring 17lbs vs 15lbs. It cycled fine. No damage to the 10mm barrel the same as shooting .38sp out of .357.
Billy B and I'm sure you know the problem with shooting 38s in 357 cylinder carbon builds upon the gap and it doesn't mouth space properly same with 40 and 10mm just keep the chamber clean
@4:48........my friend, the 9x25 Dillon has SEVERE recoil. More than a 10mm. And also....to shoot 45 Super you need a stronger recoil spring AND a FULLY supported chamber (lone wolf barrel) or you will be in for a ka-boom. You can't just shoot 45 Super out of a stock G21. The 45 Super has a much thicker web for the much higher pressure round.
I my opinion necked rounds with a 90 grain bullet don't recoil as much as a 180 grain 10mm and a 45 super at 1000 feet per second is not a 460 Rowland in fact it is little more than a 45 ACP. And if you watch the video I don't use any Glock barrels I have no use for them.
You're right. I have the 9x25 for my G20 and have used every kind of ammo you can imagine. The 10mm has MORE kick... no matter WHAT 9x25 you compare it with. ^..^~~
Just a barrel and spring is not all thats needed for 9mm/38 super, the extractor and ejector are not sized for a rim that small. It may work, but most likely not 100%. You need a whole new slide for that... Also all you need for a 40 s&w coversion (since your not worried about things being fit to size) is to just load up .40 in the mag and go to town in its original 10mm version. It works just fine, the chamber is just a little longer than needed for the 40.
+glenwood89420 It is very interesting with regards to the 40 cal out of the 10mm barrel you are absolutely right even S&W states that in the instructions. However, if you don't want the carbon build up like you get from shooting 38's in 357 mag revolvers you should use a 40 cal barrel. On the topic of extractors and slides that probably would be optimum but that massive extractor that Glock uses hasn't failed me yet and i have shot at least 2000 38 supers and 5000 9mm out of this thing and have had no glitches.
I seem to be unable to get any of these, Super sad, Probably 2 grand worth of barrels on the table in this video. Pretty crazy to think its actually possible to fire .38 super out of a glock.
You can now add TCM 9r to that list so that's 4 different types of ammo threw the Glock 27 if Armscore makes the full upper kit. I been looking into these multi caliber type of side arms an back up handguns as well as AR 15 style rifles for when #shtf. I micromanage think on situation like this. Great video in detail for me as I continue my search an homework. I Been looking at 10mm Glock 20 an want Baby Glock to match. Also the AR57 5.7x28 is one of my first buys because of conversion aspects into a 556 and others. Trying to cover all bases if I need a clip from a friend at zombie or any time...
Thanks a mil or should i say 10 mil. super informative. you did not mention but i'm assuming the 40 super uses 10 mm or 40 mags. Which mags do the 460 Rowland require? one subscribe mentioned the 50 GI can you tell us a little more about it? thanks again super informative but your gonna cost me a lot of $$$ now. lol
+David Figueroa Don't know to much about 50 GI maybe Lone Wolf has info on that. 40 Super is a round based off 45 win mag neck down so it takes 45 magazines, The 460 Rowland is a longer 45 cartridge with a thicker base so 45 magazine as well.
I used to have a gen 1 mod 21. One of if not the best slide guns ever made. I enjoyed the video, but I had a hard time with chin doing all the talking....
You do not need a .40 s&w barrel to fire the .40 out of the 10mm. Plenty of videos on youtube confirming this. Also, there are conversion barrels from 10mm to .45acp that do not require a slide swap.
yes, I think i mentioned that Glock 21 would except that barrel. All these barrels you are going to have to look on EBAY because Lone Wolf isn't making them anymore.
I just spoke to Lone Wolf Distributing. Apparently they do not offer these barrels any longer for the 20. Well other than a 40S&W barrel that can be swapped. They told me they are working on some new ones though. Seeing how people have said any barrel you can put in a Glock 21 you can put in a 20. You may also be able to use a 45 ACP barrel. If I understood correctly. With that being said. It appears that the information in this video may be a little outdated. Unless of course you can still get these barrels from places other than the Lone Wolf website. Please correct me if anything I have said is incorrect. I've just started researching the Glock 20 since I am seriously considering purchasing one.
You left out one conversion. Maybe it wasn't available at the time of the video. But howabout The Advantage Arms .22lr conversion kit? They do make one for the G20/21.
I believe this can also convert to .22lr if not mistaken. As for the 9mm, you mention having to crimp the magazine a bit for the rounds to fit, will standard glock 17 mags not fit this one? How much did that glock 21 upper run you too? By the way i love oak tree gun club, lived up in the valley for a few years and i went there religiously, i live back in san diego now and work at a large indoor range, but whenever someone asks about good shotgun ranges, some mention p2k down here but i always inform them of oak tree, to me that place is worth the drive all day long over some of the lame ones we have down here. Better service and just a nicer experiance.. if any of yall are in the so cal region looking for a great outdoor range, oaktree is the spot to go. Not mention they have an onsite bbq and bar for after you are done with shooting! And they have archery now. Check em out for sure you wont be dissapointed!
I don't think I could justify all the exotic rounds. 10mm is exotic enough for me. But I think it's very proactive policy to be able to convert a semi-exotic 10mm to more common calibers like 9mm or .45ACP in a SHTF or TEOTWAWKI situation. When infrastructure goes to pits, have an option to use the conventional calibers as a backup to your primary. That could be a whole other gun, or a bag of conversion kits.
Great video but I would love to see a video of these barrels actually be shot through the G20 I’m sure there will be issues with some of these conversions.
Great video. Thanks for taking the time to film it. Does that MechTech carbine upper fire .40 cal as well as 10mm? My thinking is that... from a SHTF perspective, if one carried the Glock 20 and the MechTech upper, they *could* shoot .40 call all day long if in a pinch (not having any 10mm ammo).
40 super is a necked down 45 win mag. i wonder if you can take the mech tech 10mm, ream it to a 40 super, take the g20 and stick the 21 mag in with 40 super rounds loaded. make a 40 super carbine.
Jeffrey Kelley wont work if not kept clean? glocks run better dirty if anything...im serious. only 2 times i ever had a FTE on a glock was after i cleaned and oiled the shit out of it
I didn't do any, but they all worked fine except for the 9mm it worked just ok. It might be a mute point now because Lone Wolf makes very few conversion barrels anymore.
I wasn’t aware that shooting 10mm was such a “problem” at ranges. Never heard of such a thing. Isn’t 10mm just .40 cal? Don’t they make a Glock 21 which is .45 ACP? Isn’t that “more powerful” than 10mm?
Have you noticed any issues with using the Gen3 slides on the Gen4 frame? I have read online that some people have noticed damage to the frame. Have you experience anything like this? Lone Wolf says you will only have a gap like you show in your video but I dont want spend the money on a slide and then trash my frame.
Jeffrey. Thanks for the reply. So the Dillon could not be done in a Glock 21? I was a little confused by your answer. I figured the Dillon would be very similar to the 10 mm barrel. of course these conversions may not be available anyway. Thanks for your time.
You need a 10mm slide to do 10mm case heads , as in 9x25 Dillon 10mm 40mm 357 sig 9mm 38 super and Lone Wolf has plenty of 9x25 barrels and Underwood and Double Tap have all the ammo you want . And Dillon has dies if you want to reload them
Very cool , noticed it has a Zev trigger , is that the full kit or is that just a shoe and bar? And with changing so many different rounds any issues with that trigger system ? Thanks again great video very informative
thank you because of you i learned some new cartdriges the 40 and 45 super wich are damn powerfull as 44 magnum and 50 ae youles level wow thanks thats sick
I'm a noobie when it comes to guns. what do you recommend when learning to shoot? the 10mm is too expensive to practice with so I was thinking either the 45 acp or 40 s&w. Can you give me your input?
To learn to shoot i would get a 6 inch S&W revolver like a 686 and shoot 38's out of it. When i go to the range and focus on precision shooting that what i use. Get yourself a Redding Big Boss 2 single stage reloading press and a set of 38 caliber dies and have a ball.
If you like the 10 mm, then buy the 10 and buy a laser bullet to practice with interspersed with actual shooting sessions. You can become a very good shot without wasting a lot of ammo.
Mr. Kelley I have looked into multi calibers on a single platform. T/C was the first to come to mind, however at +$300.00 per barrel it could get up there. I checked the whole LoneWolf website and I am only seeing one or two conversions for the 20. Are these products you discussed still available?
Hi, i'm new to Glocks and have the G20sf. My question is you showed a conversion barrel to run .40 S&W. Is that necessary? I was told that the 10mm is the same diameter as .40cal. Also you showed a lot of caliber conversion but my concern is how does the 10mm magazines cycle with all those calibers? I would imagine lots of malfunctions when using different caliber sizes in the 10mm mag. I know you showed squeezing the lips to run the 9mm but doesn't that break?
Yes you can shoot 40 cal in a 10mm barrel but you will build up carbon in the chamber as you do shooting 38's in a .357 magnum. the reason you must crimp the lips on the 9mm is that's the only case that isn't the same diameter as the 10mm. All the others are made from 10mm cartridges.
The bore of the barrel is the only difference they don't flop around I have all of those barrels and a few more they work flawlessly and are very accurate
