I own both of these guns. I prefer the Glock overall because I find it to a more robust with more straightfoward internals. The FNX feels better in the hand and seems a tiny bit more accurate. I can reload the Glock faster due to the mag well shape and grip angle. The mags for the FNX 45s hold 15 vs Glocks 13, unfortunately the FNX mags are 50 to 60 dollars vs the 30 to 35 dollar Glock mags. The FNX 45 Tactical is a sweet gun but I paid twice as much for it as I did for the Glock and sadly, I don't find it to be twice the gun. I keep the FNX in the nightstand after damaging the FNX safety on a seatbelt of all things. If I had to do it again for the money I would have gotten the HK or the Sig P227. I don't think they make the p227 anymore?........too bad.
That FNX really appealed to me on paper. But after handling one, I just can't spend what they ask for it. Certainly doesn't feel like a 1200$ gun in my opinion. Already own a G30, so I'm trying to find a G41MOS now. Would get some extra mags to use as well. I really like the new 545, but still I just can't see 1000$ for it. Not to mention, FN mags are made of gold apparently. M&P45 new model would be great as well, but I've still never seen one anywhere. Just me...EDIT- picked up the new OR M&P45 Threaded.
The FNX 45 is a fantastic piece of kit, I owned one for about 1200 rds. However, I switched to a Glocck 41 after the FNX mag followers began to tilt and prevent feeding. FNH had no fix other than new mags that would wear out again. Well designed pistol and not so well designed mag followers.
It looks like the FNX is actually longer, if you count the beavertail. Additionally, the Glock barrel is longer and adding a longer threaded barrel makes the difference even greater.
What was wrong with your trigger? Mine works fine on all three of my FNX .45 Tacticals. Only issue I had was the slide is stainless steel not aluminium, like the Glock so it wants to give recoil issues. I had to install a Zahan recoil spring and a muzzle brake. now I can shoot the .45 Super, +p, ammo like it's candy.
I bought an earlier gen 4 g21 with the older gen 3 finish. It's my edc and love the way it shoots. I love the kiss ( keep it simple stupid) line of thinking with glock. Curious on anyone's thoughts on fnx 45 preformence. It looks pretty sweet too
I own both a G17 & a G26 which I love but when I went shopping for a G41 I came home with a FNX-45 Tactical instead which I have since equipped with a Vortex Venom 6 MOA RDS & a 450 lumen LED tactical light. I seldom carry but the G26 with G19 15 round magazines (with X-Grip adapters) is my designated carry piece. But the FNX-45 “T” is now my home defense unit. Among it’s many attributes the safety system stands out for me. The ability to decock/lock like my Berettas is very good but the FNX also can be cocked & locked like my 1911. You say that if you decock it leaves you “SOL” having to do a full double action stroke... well it’s DA stroke is smoother than most I can think of but you’re a big boy.... don’t be afraid to grab that hammer and pull it on back. I love my Glocks, I love my Berettas, I love my S&Ws, & I love my Rutgers but this FNX is something special. That said while I own more than one of many brands if you consider the cost of FN products I doubt I’ll ever be able to justify a second one of theirs. That's a fact, I have three FNX .45 Tactical, and while I have no use for a Glock, I have a bunch of buddies who think they are God's gift. I never saw what the big deal was with them, but everyone is different.
Hey thanks for the comment and welcome to the channel. I am glad you watched the video if you are getting one of these. Make sure you watch my video about mounting the RMR! Are you going to use a trijicon rmr? If so make sure you get the adapter plate kit and be very careful you do not overtighten the screws because they will bottom out when they hit the slide and strip. Happened to one of my screws when I removed the RMR and I had to cut the screw to get it out.

Keith: Thanks for the comment. The FNX is a beast no doubt. It sets the bar for firepower so very high! I wonder if people would rather have 15 rounds of 45 acp or 20 rounds of 9mm?
FNX.45 tactical was my choice too. Comes down to feel, and I never have found the Glock to be very ergonomic or comfortable, not only that but the FNX come 15 + 1 ready from the start. I did change mine slightly to shoot the .45 SUPER which is a +P load and it shoots a 255 grain hard lead slug. It shoots sweet right out of the box and yeah, there are a lot of guys who believe they need to change the triggers, sights, barrels and God knows what else. I had a Glock buddy who gave me grief for paying over a grand for my first one then pointed to his Glock and said, "$650.00 bet that hurts" Then I reminded him of all the after market stuff he added and it came to about the same price and he looked shocked. So he says, "Well you spent after market on your FNX." I smiled and said, "Yes I did, all total came to about a hundred bucks." Then I reminded him he was just complaining about having to get his new Glock in shape for shooting and it costing him $400 bucks. All totaled he had about the same in his as I had in mine and I had the higher round capacity, not to mention that the FNX are modular constructed which was part of the Army requirement. I can purchase any part and replace it myself without the need for special tools or skills. I see now they have a titanium slide for the Glock 17 and 19 for about $600 each. I guess he'll be needing that too before long, huh?
