I recently just bought a 43. In 2021 at that. Why? Because it’s a Glock. I could’ve went with Springfield or Sig. but they’re not Glock. I may sound like a fanboy, but none of my Glocks have failed me. Especially the times I needed them most.
and when exactly did you need them most? please take this the right way, I just think it's beneficial for people to have a definition for when they need a gun. Thanks man.
@@eaclest I’ve unfortunately found myself in some shitty situations. Situations I couldn’t prevent. Had I not had my firearms in those situations, I may not have been here to type this comment. Glocks are the number 1 choice in law enforcement, SF, and law abiding citizens across the globe. I firmly believe there’s a good reason behind that.
I really liked the Hellcat, but there was (and is) an issue with the trigger locking up. At the range it’s no big deal when you are taking your time, but when I practiced in a fast situation the Hellcat trigger failed. There are videos about it.
@@frozeneskimo313 From my research I have seen issues in every small micro compact that can cause the gun to stop working regularly occur in both Sig and Springfield offerings. No such trends with the Glocks.
The Glock 43 is still and will always be one of my favorites! I like it more than all others including the new Sig 365 and older Kahr PM-9s. I dont fall for the hype and go with what I know is best for me. Theres a lot of pistols similar to size and shape but a lot of these pistols can be fussy and I dont have time for that! The Glock 43 is 100% reliable in all conditions at all times and thats what matters to me most.
In thailand vary hard to get gun i love this G43 next month i will get it. I all way use HK , M16A2 A4 cus i am Just Private first class in TH (In TH gun G43 40,000฿-60,000฿ ) ☹️
I bought a Hellcat and for a few weeks compared it to my G43, Hellcat grip is thicker to accommodate 11 rounds, the G43 single stack felt a lot better, i added a plus one extension for 8 rounds total, I did not like the Hellcat trigger, I sold it, I love my G43, 8 rounds to escape a dangerous situation, not to engage into a firefight.
So I got down to a P365, Hellcat amd G43. The P365 was literally $200 more so I bumped that off my list. I liked the Hellcat a lot but yes, that trigger locked up and that was a big issue. I couldn’t trust it. There are videos about the faulty trigger. I went with the G43.
@@larryjacobs3637 G43 felt better in my hand, single stack like a 1911, Hellcat grip was wider, 8 rounds to save my life, love the G43, it still goes out with me wherever i go.
I changed the capacity from 6 to 7 with Mag Guts without increasing the length of the grip. Now these newer pistols that are out with 10 plus rounds, those extra rounds add up to more weight. You will notice it as the day progresses. I bought the G43 because my G26 with 11 rounds really sagged in my pocket and I wanted a 9mm pocket gun to replace my Ruger LCP. That is what I wanted the gun for, up close personal defense. That being said, gun selection is just like underwear and shoes, you buy what fits your lifestyle and suits your comfort.
You’re absolutely right. It’s a very individualistic decision and all we can do with our videos is share what we have discovered by having access to many firearms and pass along has worked for us. Thank you very much for watching. I appreciate your comment.
If you already own it keep it and order a complete Glock 43x/48 frame, and put the slide and barrel on the 43x frame. Keep in mind you will have to buy new mags for it to work in this con figuration. My frame cost $120,pre-covid. I normally carry with my 43 slide on the 43x frame using a 15 round mag from Shield Arms. When I want to go small, I carry it in its original condition
Disclaimer: I have never been a Glock fan. Why? I had other handguns and never thought I would own a Glock. However, the last few years, as I watched more wacky crap happen in society, I decided to switch from revolvers for carry to semiautos. Why? Reloading time and ease. Semiautos beat the crap out of revolvers for reloading, especially in stressful situations. Many times, I must carry as small a gun as possible. I am not large and find it hard to hide a toaster sized firearm. Also, I live in South Texas. We have two seasons; Africa hot for 9 months and not so hot. This led me to buy the G43. What I learned? I can shoot this little gun extremely well. It never fails. Reloads are easy and quick. It hides well. What of the new guns? OK, they may be fine, however, I cannot change guns like I change my socks. I have to budget my firearms purchases into my activities of regular daily life. I am not wealthy. I really spend a long time deciding to buy each gun I have purchased after a lot of reading and research. OK, my little Glock does not hold many rounds. I carry 2 spare mags and feel well heeled. Works for me. Still not a Glock fanboy. They are plain looking, ugly in fact. I don't care. My little gun will do what it is supposed to do. It is paid for and I have 10 spare mags. I'm not going to ditch it for the latest gun out there that might hold more ammo. My approach to defensive weapons is simple. They must work every time and be simple to operate. I view them as a tool. I do not evaluate my framing hammer based on looks, nor my carry gun.
I just sold my P365 TacPac yesterday. With the money, I bought a Glock 43 an hour later. I was also able to pick up hi-viz sights, an Overwatch Precision trigger, a +2 and +3 magazine. Why? Because that’s what I WANTED. Simple as that. No matter what micro I try, the G43 is at the top and I keep coming back to it as my go to EDC. It fits my hand better, I’m very accurate with it, it’s comfortable to carry, it’s comfortable to shoot, it’s lighter when fully loaded, and it is simple to work on. Not to mention there’s 1 million ways to customize it which makes the selling points of the P365 and Hellcat a nonissue. The whole capacity thing is overhyped. I don’t know about you but I don’t plan on fighting Spetsnaz. There’s the 3-3-3 rule... Most gun fights happen within 3 feet of the person, it lasts less than three seconds and there are less than three rounds fired. It’s pretty hard to claim self-defense out on the street when you pump 10 to 12 rounds in someone. Don’t forget that the 43 is a flat out beast when it comes to reliability. It’s going to go bang every time, no matter what. It’s worth noting I’m not a Glock fan boy. My G 43 is the only Glock in my collection but it’s what I choose to carry. We live in a glorious world of choices. If you want Sig, get a Sig. If you want a Hi Point, get a Hi Point. If you want to be Bruce, be Bruce. If you want to be Caitlyn, be Caitlyn. You do you man!
For me its still relevant. I bought my 43 4 or 5 years ago and its still my edc gun. I carry it with the flush magazin with the magguts inserts. So i have 7+1 rounds with a flush fit magazin and thats enough for me. I know the P365 is the same size with 10+1 rounds. And i was thinking about the 365 but there were so many negativ reports. Ive never had a Problem with my 43. Another reason why i still go with my 43 is that i have no problems to get parts for it. I life in Europe and for my Glock i can buy every single part i need. It wont be that easy with an other brand. 🤷♂️ Hope my english is ok
Your English is very good. Thank you very much for making the effort to communicate in my language. I appreciate it. You make good points and I thank you for taking the time to share it!
Love the 43 still a sweet little pistol. I'm waiting on shield arms. To come out with a higher capacity mag for it. Sooner or later they will. I carry a 43x with 15 rounds and love it. But will never sale the 43. It's a Glock!
Shield Arms won’t come out with a wider magazine for the 43 like they did with the 43x/48 magazines. At least they won’t come out with one that’s flush with the bottom of the mag well. If they come out with a higher capacity for the 43, it will extend out the bottom. The 43 magazine is already narrower than the 43X/48 magazine and that’s why it can’t be made wider to hold more rounds in an already magazine.
That’s been my EDC setup for the past couple of years, combined with a backup mag that has a Vickers +2 base plate on it. I’m confident that 7+1 and my additional 8-round reload is plenty relevant. 🤣💥💥💥💥
I just got one of these myself. I got this because I wanted a light, deep-concealment gun. I love it for the versatility it gives. It can be light edc and back up to a primary edc. Add in the massive amount of carrying options(iwb, owb, ankle, off-body in a handbag/fanny pack, and pocket carry it is highly versatile.
If you carry or use other GLOCK handguns, the 43 is very relevant as a "small" carry gun. GLOCKs have a common feel across the models, but it is the trigger action feel commonality that would be most important to me. Muscle memory and all that. It is nice to have a full size and mini/small models with a common trigger feel (the stacking, stages, etc..)
Absolutely still relevant. It's a Glock so there's that, it is a great carry gun, 6 rounds is fine if you are proficient and carry a 2nd mag. It's not a bring to war pistol, so relevant for sure.
I think its still relevant, at least for now. For one thing, there is a lot of brand loyalty. Plus, if your already into Glock, my guess is that you are probably going to have to adjust your grip significantly to get used to the Sig P365.
This is the best concealed carry firearm I have ever had. I had every kind of concealed carry even the p365. The 43 is better to shoot and if people complain about the capacity I get it....but you carry more mags. I carry 2 extra mags for a total of 19 rounds of 9mm . This gun is the best.
Capacity isn't everything. I'm a long time owner of a G26 and more recently a P365. Both 100% reliable. But my most often carried 9mm is still a tiny 6+1 Kahr CM9.
I really like this video because I'm really torn on this. I really like glock 19 and for some reason really like the 43, but I already have a walther pps m2 which is pretty similar. My trouble with buying it is that it doesn't really fit a niche for me. If you already had a single stack, would you pick up the 43 just for shits and giggles?
If I already had a PPS M2, and I was happy with it, I would not buy a G43. That’s just personal opinion. BTW, I like the PPS M2 better. Thank you very much for taking the time to watch.
I'm doing the same thing. Went to a p365 and now I'm heading back to a 43. I have larger hands and the Glock feels more comfortable and the controls for me are more accessible.
Just got one love it.. going to get a +1 mag extension. 8roumds is plenty if you have good shot placement and are not just mag dumping in a general area.
Excellent video all about the Glock 43 he really explains every detail of it and also I like what he did dress it up a little bit it's a great carry gun not heavy not light just right you know when you carry your gun all day you don't want something heavy like dirty ounces or more it's just going to hold you down 😊🇺🇸💯
I just bought one and I think it fills the same niche as my EDC, the Walther PPS M2 Roughly same capacity, worse ergos and trigger but far greater aftermarket Capacity isn't everything, it just isn't The 43 absolutely has a place in 202X and beyond, its simply a great, slim choice But I would of course take my PPS M2 over this
Nah, I would say the 43 is irrelevant now but not the X version. Btw your pistols are always immaculate! I find myself anxious to see what your gonna feature next. Lol
I have a glock 19 if I want more firepower. I went with the g43 because of the ease of concealment and in that area the 43x can't compete. If I didn't already own the g19 I think I might have went with the 43x.
Literally just bought this for when I'm not carrying my G19 in the summer, plenty of fire power and if I plan on going to a really shitty part of town I take my G19
We have a lot to pick from nowadays which is a good problem to have! But until I can shoot a little blaster as well as my Glock 19 I’m carrying my Glock 19!
@@jayveionjohnson5113 "Nice" in the respect that it looks nice and was relatively affordable and fits in the mag well or "nice" because it's a 10 round magazine for that gun that actually works correctly? I'm not trying to be a wise ass either, I'm being serious. The first red flag to me is the fact that it's a "Pro-Mag" product. Their track record for making consistently well functioning (or anything functioning) magazines is dismal. Horrible. Atrocious. Abysmal. Pathetic. It should be criminal. If yours actually functions well under live fire, congratulations. If you haven't live fire tested that magazine in your gun, you might want to give that a go before you think you've gotten some great 10 round solution to the G-43 low round count dilemma.
The Glock 26 is same silhouette and you get double stack versus single stack cheap factory mags all the way up to 30 rounds. quarter inch difference wide 26 all day long
@@jlinka79 I own both and as stated here, there is a huge difference as the 26, my beloved 26's, are distinctly heavier and less comfortable to me as well.
Okay so I just bought the 43 and the 48 I think they're both excellent I bought an ATS automag for the 43 which gives me 9 round capacity if I carry one in the pipe that gives me a 10-round capacity also for the 48 Shield makes a very good Metal magazine that is absent the plastic polymer that coats the outside of Glocks normal magazines I think it fits 15 I'm not sure I can't remember love them both I think I'm just going to stick W/ Glocks from now on
I have the Glock 43 and what I did was buy (2) MagGuts springs +2 that only adds about 1/4” to the slide. The way it’s in my rotation is in a fanny bag on my waist for all my morning runs. Also I use it in a Vedders IWB Light tuck holster when I dress up. So it still has a place in my rotation.
I don't get it, doesn't matter what you use as long as you feel comfortable with the firearm. Glock 43 is probably the best concealment weapon out there, lastly I am a retired L/E, officer. If you want firepower then get the Glock 27... As I said you have to feel comfortable carrying the weapon and using it...
Still relevant yes. Are there better options absolutely. It’s 2021. Six rounds is anemic when you can carry twice that with a 365 or hellcat in a slightly smaller frame. I’m a Glock lover for sure but their engineers need to get to work. No resting on laurels.
@@tyg9155 Do yourself a favor if you haven't already and run that ETS through your gun before you rely on it for a backup mag. My experience with two different ETS mags @ 12 rounds and my copy of the 43 as well as a friends, hasn't exactly been stellar, shall I say.
Why would it not be relevant? And relevant to what? A Sig? A sharp stick? People who own this firearm bought it for what it is... Not because it was revolutionary. ...you know they still make revolvers and single shot rifles right?
@@MDpolo Like I said... You realize they still make snub nose revolvers and single shot rifles... should they be considered obsolete because they don't have the capacity as guns in a similar foot print and weight? I'm not being a smart ass... I'm asking.
For me, all depends on the task at hand. Of course I’m aware of the existence of the firearms that you mention. In my example, if I shoot a Glock 43 equally well as a P365, why would I choose 6+1 capacity versus 10+ 1. If you watch the video till the end, you would see that I made a comparison to the P365. That’s my point.
