Zargothrax, Album 1: Undead Unicorns and putting Dundee on ice. Zargothrax, Album 2: Chaos Wizards, Demons and summoning Super Satan. Zargothrax, Album 3: Proletius, Death Knights of Crail, tries to ascend to godhood. Zargothrax, Album 4: Emergency clone, nukes, a laserblaster and basket weaving. Credit where credits due, he keeps finding new tools of evil.
@@thegamerator10e was so passionate about weaving baskets as he does spells that he went evil, pretty legit argument for the basket weaving being the root of all evil.
They swore a mighty oath *to say* "Dundee will never fall!" As long as they can utter the battle cry before the nuke goes off, they've fulfilled the oath.
Yeah, but I don't want any other studio or director to do it. It should just be these guys, with maybe half again as much budget as goes into their music videos.
No, that would be the one mage who's name I don't know. (Though they seem to have resurective immortality since they also get got in 'fly away' so, iunno.)
Huh! Interesting. They're really leaning into the world-building. Kinda dig the way they open it like a DM opening up a campaign and laying out the setting. With that opening, it really is kinda nice to see what Dundee looks like when it's not being destroyed by undead unicorns, chaos wizards, or an entire army of horrifying fecal zombies. EDIT: holy shit they nuked Scotland
When the leitmotif from Beyond the Galactic Terrorvortex started up and it played the translated Morse Code, I got goosebumps. Gloryhammer is my favorite D&D campaign xD
So, the clone setup by the OG Zargothrax showed up to an alternate reality of the OG Dundee (Medieval Times) and brought himself 800 kilotons of nuclear justice with him. He probably screamed "Parry this you medieval paesant" before hurling a nuke at Angus.
Proletius voice: if i had a farthing for every time i died in a horrible nuclear bombardment, id have two farthings, which isnt a lot but it is weird it happened twice
I'm glad I saw this before posting about it. I'm late, I know. But man is that freakin' funny. Whoever does the captions for Napalm Records is a funny bastard.
Any fortress they attack is doomed to fall too, though! Seems like they could just lean up against any fortress wall and the whole place would just collapse.
There is one thing that the army of Dundee needs : a crocodile. He could be named Dundee crocodile, he would speak with an accent from New Zealand and have a big spoon as his weapon
Nah, flamimg is the descriptor. It is a holy hammer that appears to be flaming that governs unholy cosmic frost. But that's a mouthful, so we get, Holy flaming hammer of unholy cosmic frost
Thought, sense angus is from 1022 I imagine he got to the nuke and was like “wait I have no clue how to disarm this thing, I don’t even know what it is”
My Spotify DJ just played this song for me because I've listened to some Gloryhammer in the past. I was cry laughing at the name because I wasn't expecting it. 10/10 best part of my day
Reminds a lot of their older stuff, especially the first album. Love the song, I hope we get more songs like this one Also love how they tossed in Sanctus Dominus in there
First listen: Rhapsody/First album vibes. Classic, nice. After guitar solo: Wizard talking, more Sinister vibes... Okay what's next I was not prepared, WTF IS HAPPENING I LOVE THIS
It has a strong "Rhapsody vibe", that's for sure. Shaping up to be an epic, legendary tale of unicorns and nuclear devastation... The new singer is great imo.
Far be it from me to question a dark lord, but it strikes me as... unwise to have your armory of nuclear ordinance right next to your extra life clones. It seems an enterprising rouge could take advantage of that.
I'd just like to record here, in the event that almost all of humanity perishes and a few survivors are tasked with rebuilding, if some historian of the future sees this, let it be known this music video is a true and accurate account of the events that led to the destruction of the world as we know it.
As someone who got introduced to Gloryhammer by this song, I'm gonna say that it's a great introduction. Love how it creates the expectation of a medieval RPG metal song and then turns 180 into a freakin' scifi. And since I was raised on Might & Magic games which mixed scifi and fantasy in a similar fashion, I am absolutely in love. Currently listening to the entire album for a 2nd day already, and diving into their other work. Why didn't I know about them before?! The whole Return to the Kingdom of Fife is a masterpiece! BY THE HOLY FLAMING HAMMER OF UNHOLY COSMIC FROST!
where are we in the Gloryhammer universe?, as in which king and what universe? because i seem to remember Angus the 13th (thomas) dying and now were here , am a tad confused. (have we gone back in time?
Zargothrax was defeated by Angus XIII but before he died he awakened an Alpha-1 clone in the time of Angus II. So now we're back to right after the first album.
I think we are in a different timeline, since this is Angus McFife, first of his name, but, in the description, we are at a 30 year celebration of defeating Zargothrax and imprisoning him in ice
I love the background sound tech guy who plays the knight Zargothrax pushes aside. He's great, can never remember his name but he was good in the Fly Away video too!
Me at the begining : oh interesting they turn back to a more medieval fantasy setting... 2:37 Zargothrax clone alpha 1 : ACCROSS THE INFINITE VOID OF TIME AND SPACE... *nuke bombing*
I'm pretty sure Zargothrax could have conjured a spell to similar effect, but it was more amusing to just use a timed atom bomb instead and watch everyone's reactions to the countdown to annihilation. Facetanking the blast to him would be nothing as he's survived planetary destruction before.
Seems like we follow the same structure. Dundee is royally zargothraxed in the first song and through the album Angus [insert number here] gains power, artifacts and mighty warriors to get revenge in the last track. The only question is how Hootsman is going to save the day this time? (We already have Deus Ex Hootsman in the first album, detonation of nuclear heart in the second album and (literally) Deus ex Hootsman in the third album) Anyhow, love Sozos and much appreciate lyrics. Still going strong
A few thoughts to ponder..... 1) Is the Silver Gun mentioned in Universe on Fire the same weapon as the Vorpal Laserblaster of Pittenweem? 2) Holy Flaming Hammer of Unholy Cosmic Frost makes the one-time Sozos portrays Angus I (as the character meets his demise after Zargothrax A-1 activates the floor nukes). And that also means that Sozos has been 3 different incarnations of Angus, Angus V in Fly Away and of course Angus II for the rest of this album. 3) Do we count the destruction of the Castle via the nukes as a defeat for the Knights of Crail? (At least Proletius didn’t die this time, unlike his evil alternate counterpart from Terrorvortex) 4) Zargothrax A-1 apparently knows the Multiform technique/shadow clone Jutsu. 5) At 4:27 Angus the 1st "Guess I'll die."
Can we stop for a moment to truly appreciate the nonsensical naming here? "holy flames of unholy frost"? It's incredible, sounds like a lvl 90 item from some second-rate dungeon crawler game.
What strikes me as interesting is that this hammer, used pretty much exclusively by the "hero", is referred to as *Unholy* in its name, and at the same time, Zargothrax, who is undoubtedly Evil, wields the Celestial Flame. not an Unholy or Evil flame, a Celestial Flame. which you'd think would normally be wielded by a force for good. The hero uses Unholy Frost, the Villain uses Celestial Fire. what a conundrum, huh?
