I am 67 years old and have used 100’s of concealers. The Glossier stretch concealer is THE best concealer that these 67 year old under eyes have ever used. So Bravo for that! The Boy Brow is a game changer also.
After what happened to Bite when they went vegan I could not BELIEVE Glossier made the same misstep! Rip agave lip mask and now BDC 😪 Edit: lanolips is effective but not the same smooth/glide-y consistency as BDC! Sort of in between the old Bite agave and BDC in terms of thickness. Definitely worth it and more effective than BDC ever was but a bit less cosmetically elegant
The After Baume is a miracle product for anyone who lives in a super cold environment. We live in Alaska where temps can regularly fall below -30 with high winds. My husband has gotten all of his military buddies hooked on the stuff for when they do work out in the field. You see all these buff military guys with their precious jars of glossier, it's kind of adorable. It is truly the only thing that will keep your face from falling off up here.
The shade "Cashet" in the ultra lip formula is the grungy rose toned neutral brown shade of your dreams. As a neutral fair olive its the only lip product I have EVER owned that doesn't look clownish on me. On my specific skin tone, it is undupable! The Pro Tip eyeliner is also excellent if you have oily hooded/monolid eyes like I do. That eyeliner does. not. smear. But its also super easy to remove with a cleansing balm.
Thanks for this video! I do love a lot of Glossier products, but don’t want to turn a blind eye when they obviously can and need to do better. You are special in our hearts! ❤
It's not being sold at sephora, but I hiiiiighly recommend the moon mask for anyone with dry skin. It's a holy grail product for me to the point that if they ever try to discontinue or reformulate it I will buy out their stock lol. It feels like you're putting a layer of moisturizing marshmallow fluff all over your face and is the first thing I go to when I've been too aggressive on actives. Super underrated product from their skincare line imo.
@Virginia yesss I love it as the final step in my night routine too! I try not to do it every day because I end up going through a tub way too fast if i do, but it's been a lifesaver to my skin especially this winter whenever I do use it as my night moisturizer. I wish they sold it in a bigger size 😔
Thank you for making this video! I remember walking into my local Sephora and seeing the new Glossier section. I thought to myself “do I NEED any of this?” This was amazingly helpful. I might end up only trying the concealer, but thank you for saving my pocketbook. ❤😁
If you were to try another Ultra Lip, the shade Trench is a very good pinky brown that leans more brown than any of the other shades you swatched. I don't think the swatch on the website does it justice but Trench is probably more of a you shade - I reach for it and Villa a lot!
I do consider the Lanolips a good comp for the original BDC formula (and likely Glossier’s touchstone, as honestly most of their products are sort of patently copying existing ones - priming moisturizer is knockoff Embryolisse, stretch concealer is RMS uncoverup, etc.). But lately the Make serum balm has been my stand-in of choice. And what I really want a proper dupe for is the old Bite agave mask!
I agree! I’ve been using the Lanolips 101 Ointment in Pear for 6+ months now and it’s worked just great to keep my lips nourished and stable after sensitization, which I appreciate as a perpetually dehydrated girlie. I will say, though, that it’s not the most sophisticated of formulas (it’s mostly just lanolin, after all): I usually have to warm it up with a finger before application, otherwise it can sit a bit patchily on the lips. Definitely more of a niche complaint as I have poor circulation (i.e. cold dead winter mitts) and need to put in a little extra work during application, but something worth noting.
I love the shimmery finish of the Lanolips lemonade lip treatment. But honestly I’ve just been using my $3 tube of Aquaphor mixed with some Cloud Paint as a pretty tinted lip balm ❤
I know the Solar Paint is almost universally disliked by those who are deep into the beauty world, but I really really like it. That said, I'm somebody who has never used bronzer before it other than trying some powder versions and really struggling with looking dirty. So I don't know if this is a good thing for my particular desires, I just dot on the tiniest amount and I like that it sets all the way down.
lanolips is my ride or die. i love that stuff so much. 101 ointment is good for anything any time. they have lip tubes with really yummy flavors that don’t give me a headache. the golden skin salve is super thick and super nourishing. it has manuka honey so it does have healing properties. i slather that in before bed and my lips are so soft in the morning. cannot recommend lanolips enough
Lanolips is ROBUST. I freaking love it. The original Lanolips is like the original Bite Beauty agave lip balm (before they made it vegan). Its an absolute dream.
Glossier has never bothered to distinguish between retinol and retinyl palmitate, which is such a mild retinoid that it’s effectively an antioxidant. That’s what is in the priming moisturizer - it has this reputation for containing retinol but that’s just not true. On the other hand, pro-retinol is another name for retnyl palmitate. Glossier is selling an antioxidant cream under a deceptive name that they’re hoping we’ll read as “professional-quality retinol.”
Hello, I hope you're safe over there? I hope this year brings happiness, prosperity, and love all over the world, I would love 💚us to be good friends in honesty and in trust if you don't mind. I'm Doctor Christopher Johnson from San Francisco, California, where are you from if I may ask?❤
If you have dollar (and a quarter) tree, check out LA Colors cream gel blush. It's very bright but it sheers out. Their color correctors and brow pencils are also very decent.
Well timed. Thank you. On with the video. But seriously, do these companies not have a DB with who gets PR from them? Is it seriously just a list on one person's laptop? Like, come on.
Yeah, I'm pissed about the absence of lanolin in products... I know it's not vegan but sheep need to be sheered(?) Shorn? So, as long as the sheering (can't spell) process is humane, I don't see why lanolin isn't considered vegan... And Lanolips is bangin! Someone educate me if I'm wrong but I love lanolin. But if you're allergic it makes you itch like crazy...💚🖤
I love the after balm, too! Also, the skincare serums, for anyone this might help, were the only serums my skin tolerated and benefited from while I was going through chemotherapy. They are simple, gentle, introductory, and helpful. And finally, I just purchased the Make reverse emulsion, and I love it! Buuuut I’m curious when you use it in your routine? That would be very helpful - final step after SPF before makeup? At night?
I am hoping that Glossier comes to Sephora in Aus only for the Future Dew. (But we will no doubt have to pay what I call the “Australia Tax” and it will cost us three times the price.)
Another suggestion for the slugging layer that will save some $$$ and I think is a better alternative to the La Mer range (because it has actives instead of fragrance…) is the Heimish Marine Care Deep Moisture Melting Cream. She’s thiiiiick, but like melts like butter! (The eye cream is also to die for.)
The skin tint is the only product on the market that doesn’t skin in all my lines wrinkles and create polka dot pores. Every dupe does. I don’t know what they use but it’s amazing. Of course I wish the coverage is better but it sits on my skin better than any other product I’ve tried and I’ve tried them all!
I actually really like the new balm formulation! That said, I have a beeswax sensitivity, so the old version gave me sad, upset, chapped lips. I know people loved the beeswax and lanolin version, but it is quite easy to develop sensitivities to those ingredients with extended use (that's how I got my sensitivity). An upside, perhaps?
Only about 2% of the population develop any sort of lanolin allergy and it’s even lower than that for beeswax so I don’t know that I’d call it easy. It sucks that it happened to you, but I don’t think it’s common enough that most people need to avoid it out of fear of developing any allergy.
I like the formula of the Glossier Ultralip, and even enjoyed the cloud paint....but as a very very pale person, I find it hard to get a good read on how the colors will look on me from their website. They aren't shown on anyone even approaching pale. And honestly their colors look straight up clownshoes on my skin. The ultra lip in Coupe looks like I got an orange popsicle all over my mouth and it's not cute. But I can layer a less hydrating but better color for me lipstick over it and make it work.

I love the stretch concealer and I can also get behind the light weight tubing mascara. I also love the boy brow. I can appreciate that they don’t have 20 shades for brows. I was paralyzed by the choices other brands offered and walked out of Sephora empty handed because of it. Taupe, light brown, light taupe brown?!? I don’t know!! 🤪 I have not tried any of their other products and, based on this video, I’m not missing much 😂
I couldn't use the old bdc because I'm allergic to beeswax and lanolin (they make my lips swell and split open ick), so fwiw I tried the new one and feels like it works better than a lot of petroleum-based balms. It lasts a good long time on the lips and doesn't dry me out. Can't say if it's as good as it used to be, but I can say that for what it is now, it's great!
29:27 As a person with sparse asian brows who need to draw them on with a marker to have some, I strongly disagree about three prongs markers. They’re harder to control, way more messy and suffer from all the felt tip liner problems but three times over. Brush applicator brow pens are the way to go if you need an illusion of a natural eyebrow.
My skin is extremely dry and allergic to 95% of the sunscreens out there… I have psoriasis and eczema and the skin tint works for me. Everything I use keeps getting pulled from Sephora or discontinued !!
It's funny to see you talking about Glossier like an ex-best-friend :) I don't think I've ever seen you start a video with less enthusiasm, so atypical of your normal bouncy personality. I still love a lot of glossier products myself and will be recommending it to my sister who doesn't love to put on makeup and needs things that are easy and fun.
Lanolips is my absolute holy grail, most effective lip balm/mask I’ve ever tried. The 101 ointment that’s unscented in the pink tube is pure lanolin and lanolin oil with no other ingredients, I prefer that one for dry patches and on my cuticles and whatnot, and the scented 101 ointments that have more ingredients like shea butter is my favorite for the lips. It’s very thick and glossy and it stays put all night. I wake up and my dry ass lips look plumped from the sheer amount of hydration and the balm is still on. I’ve gone through 5 tubes now 😅
I bought 4 of the balm dot coms last year, and while they smell amazing, they dry out my lips. I do love the mascara, and I like boy brow (but always reach for ABH or kosas instead), and the stretch concealer is good for me to throw on quickly when I'm trying to look not dead before running errands (but not wearing foundation). I totally forgot I have 3 cloud paints, and while they are fun and look nice (storm is a great sunburnt look), I never reach for them unless I'm just playing around with makeup. The perfume. Hmmm. I almost returned it because it smelled like old lady/mothballs on me. Until I layered it with my fave viktor&Rolf spicebomb extreme (the coziest vanilla-by-the-fireside spiced scent ever). And it oddly smells amazing together. Always get compliments on that combo. But the skincare.... my skin hates glossier skincare. It's too sensitive and acne prone. I stick with my overly complicated routine of averr aglow cleansers with tatcha water cream and odacite black cumin oil and lush tea tree toner lol. 🤷♀️
I forgot I bought the eyeshadows too! I like the lightest shade but I hate the bulky packaging. I wish they were available as singles. I would get the matte buff shade and matte jute shade. Maaaybe one of the shimmer buff shades.
Haloscope was modeled after the Italian highlighter stick (name?) Pat McGrath would always use at her shows. PM later created her own version that was double sided like the original whereas Glossier put it all in one tube. Not my fave but that’s why.
Re: lip balms. I've started to wonder if I'm weird for having a shower lip balm. Beeswaxy stiffness is key for a good shower lip balm. The Kosas Sport gets too melty.
I love the skin tint, boy brow and cloud paint, but since I’m in Canada, I hardly ever ordered it. As soon as Sephora started carrying, I bought these three items immediately. Still love them!
Love the OG BDC! So unbelievably disappointed - like beyond - that they decided to change the formula, but I have 3 unopened balms of the five flavors (Yes, 15!) I love to tide me over until I find a replacement. I love, love, love the Stretch Concealer. Also, really love the Ultralip in Portrait, but I wish they would update their bullets - so cheap looking and feeling for the price point...plus, I often read reviews where the caps crack and fall off. Love your look here - you are beautiful! Thank you for recognizing mature skin - reason I love their Stretch Concealer.
Can you review the flower beauty liquid blushes? I’m curious to see where they fall in comparison to the Saie/Glossier/etc! I have them currently but want to try the others if they’re better or worth it
Kackie, or anyone who keeps tabs on ingredients changing, has stretch concealer been reformulated in the last couple of years? I could have sworn it had other ingredients when I bought it pre-pandemic, say '16-18? TIA! Thanks for the breakdown of what sephora is carrying, Kackie.
Love the skin tint! So so good! It's like a tinted primer, it really just perfects your skin in a very natural way. Great for everyday. Also, the cloudpaint in 'Haze' seems different than the other colors in texture. It is more of that translucent gel cream stain. For ultralips, I think 'Cachet' is the shade in ultralip that corresponds to 'Leo' . ❤

I just wasnt excited about them coming to Sephora. Ive had some of their products abd felt they were just okay, not really worth a repeat purchase. And they feel old now...what was inovative is now boring with the packaging.
It's so good!! I just need Auric to come out with the refill version so as not to order that jade applicator every time. But goodness, what a perfect balm
Of course they had to reformulate the one product I REALLY fell in love with. I have 2 samples of the balm & last time my eczema made my eyes look like straight out of a horror movie, I had nothing else at hand to stop my skin from losing moisture. Put it on at night & boooy, my skin was so lovely the next day. Was planning on purchasing 2, 3 proper sized tubes in London soon, but I guess then it's worthless 😔
Glad to watch your video and confirm my initial choices with selecting a few of my first Glossier items. I'm in Canada so Glossier is new to me now that Sephora is carrying it. Uncanny how everything I picked is something you have ended up recommending! I love the skin tint for the reasons you've said. It's lovely, ultra light coverage, and more skin care than make up which I really like. I also love the oily skin moisturizer! It's been the only moisturizer I've found that is keeping my skin from getting super oily a few hours into the day. I have mid 30's skin, so it makes sense to me what you said about their products being ideal for maturing skin. I also love their lip stick for a good wash of colour that remains moisturizing without being intensely saturated colour. I feel the same about the mascara exactly. I got the brown one as a lighter mascara for when I don't want the intense eye lashes going on. It's good for that, but certainly isn't a true tubing mascara and I don't think I'd like the black either, but the brown does what I wanted it to do. I'm excited to try to milk jelly cleanser, which is on my shopping list, and you've convinced me to try the recovery balm I was on the fence about. I think I'll take your word along with the reviews about the highlighter and leave that one off my list now. Thanks for the great and honest review!

KACKIE, they just released new shades of the rare beauty bronzer that are cooler toned, not necessarily contour shades but less orange. There’s also two new mucky shades of the liquid blush coming 🙈
To powder the stretch concealer, I tap the powder on my brush and then almost completely tap off and then pat under my eye. If it over powdered I spritz my beauty blender and tap over it.
The L’Oréal foundation is super super extra dry on me. I’ve hear people saying that is amazing though. I just tried the skin tint and it’s amazing, i can really build it up, it’s the opposite of drying on me. I haven’t tried glossier before because you could only buy it online and now being on Sephora makes it easy to return if needed. And actually was watching your previous videos on glossier before making my purchase.
I’m not vegan, but I’m one of the few people who can only use vegan lip formulas (unfortunately allergic to both lanolin and beeswax). Hence, I’m limited to very few nourishing lip options. I very selfishly welcome every new vegan reformulation 🙈🙈
I hear you. Similar boat. Do research on ester ingredients and lip products that have them. They give lip balms that great texture like the Laneige lip mask. Can't quite compete with lanolin, but it's the closest thing I've found that works.

Vieve just launched eyeshadow quads. Lure looks like it would be up your ally. I’ve been waiting for the liquid blushes to come back in stock on cult beauty to try them yet though

I love to hear that someone else doesn't like the Glossier Perfume. On me, it smells like stale baby powder. You are the only person I have ever heard not hype it up.

WAITTTT. Back it up! What is the bubble wrap? If it’s discontinued, what else is out there. I had no idea there was a “puffer upper” for under eyes! I totally struggle with that!!!
Not expecting the vegan call out, but all I'll say is that Bite Beauty was great, but made missteps with their packaging(specifically their blush and lip glosses) and their execution. Vegan products can and are being done well, but it's all about the execution. The new Fenty lip balm and Auric's lip balm are both vegan and great products.
If a brand cannot make effective vegan products, I kinda judge their products and formulas much more. It is much more impressive when a brand can make effective vegan products. Examples) Summer Fridays lip butter balm and Merit lip oils - absolute holy grails for me
I tried lanolips 101 after the BDC reformulation and I have to say I like it sooo much more… so annoying after collecting 10+ flavours of BDC. ALL my BDCs separated and they feel oilier, compared to the thick, glossy, imo more luxurious texture of lanolips, so I’m a convert now. I don’t think any balms have beaten the shades of cherry and berry though, they are still staples for me but as a colour product rather than a healing balm. Can’t understand how the formula is so unstable compared to lanolips.
RE: Balm Dotcom reformulation - I've had about 5 of the old formula, loved them for their efficacy, texture and scents (although, they do tend to split over time...) and comparing to the new formula in lavender, I find the new formula not *quite* as effective in terms of that rich, hot-melted-butter softening quality that the lanolin gives. To my mind it has a slightly more slippy silicone-y feel to the texture and it can leave my lips still a little bit dry. BUT THAT APPLICATOR IS HORRIBLE. The gd lid has a spike in it that inserts into the hole of the applicator tip and it makes it SO messy. There's no avoiding it. Screwing the cap back on, you're just inevitably squishing product from the applicator back into the lid. It's awful. I hate it. So... yeah. You have been warned. Bring back the old packaging at least, Glossier.
Came for the review, but I’m highly distracted by the beautiful earrings! My Aries sun and rising are now laser locked and I need to find them. Do you remember where you got them? ❤❤❤
Unfortunately almost everything I’ve tried from glossier just didn’t do much for me… the only things I did like were the old eyeliner pencils (sadly discontinued) brow gel,and their setting powder (for winter only, it doesn’t set my oily skin for summer weather at all). Their skin products just melted off my skin or made me break out. Everything else was underwhelming. At the end of the day even the products I did like didn’t seem worth the price.
The new BDC is not good 😭 at least the fig one isn’t. It feels like applying a lip oil that also tastes like soap. I’ve noticed that all the good reviews for the new formula are for their untinted ones (original, birthday, mint). I squeezed them out at Sephora and it appears that the consistency for these ones is thicker than fig so fingers crossed 🤞🏼
Tried the new Glossier BDC and, while it smells wonderful still, it's a big nope. Dried my lips out and no staying power. I emailed them and they said not to rule out a return of the original formula in some way, so fingers crossed.
I will say the Niacinimide serum is so effective if you’re a niacinimide girl! It was more effective than Paula’s choice for me and I think it’s really well formulated and for a good price
