I have read a lot of questions and reviews on the Glow Shift gauges and how to get the wires to work but, I haven't found any videos showing exactly what they do. here's my version of a bench top demonstration for you, describing each wire's purpose and function. ENJOY!

I have a digital wideband and a 7 color boost gauge. You just proved that I do need the 12 constant power to illuminate the LED to view the numbers. My boost gauge works but i cant see the numbers. And also with the digital wideband gauge, I guess that also has to have the 12v constant along with the ignition power for the gauge to power up? I will try tomorrow,

I believe so. The schematic and instructions don't tell you what the wires actually do. Annoying, but hope it helps 🤷🏻‍♂️

@@BlackAndBlueGarage I tried it today and everything is normal. Glowshift needs to pick up your video and post it with their troubleshooting page.

If I wore both the constant and the non constant power wires together to the same add a fuse would that cause my gauge to not read anything? Turns on just fines just stayed at 0, water temp

@@davidspisar3906 that's a good question. I'd have to read up on that one. I would go back to the original wiring suggestion. I had to look them up in the past because each guages are not exactly the same depending on type. Could be a bad gauge tho, I've only used one till now

@@BlackAndBlueGarage i apologize I put the sensor on the thermostat hose and I have an aluminum “race” rad. It reads fine but my thermostat rarely opens and when it does it only opens for a second making that hose always cold. Beat the piss out of it then idled it once it started to creep past 180 it started reading just fine. My fault

I hooked mine up with just ignition switch and ground and my gauge doesn’t work do I need both constant power and switched power for the gauge to work?

@@deontejones2140 pretty much. You can splice the two together but you lose some functions. It's easier than the explanation sounds for sure.
