Hi, I've just replaced a few radiators at home, whilst refilling the system by opening the blue filling loop tap, water was gushing out the brass nozzle on the filling loop, I had to catch it in a bucket, the bookers pressure did go up slowly even though most of the water I was letting into the system was escaping, what would cause this, could it be a blocked valve in the filling loop, would descaling fix this or just replace the whole filling loop part

Hi - how do you set the timer? I’ve just moved into a new house with this boiler, tho’ it’s heating only, and we cannot find the timer/controls. Thank you.
A+R Central Heating and Boiler Repair Experts Ltd - hi there - I can’t see a timer anywhere. My Dad (who used to be an engineer) couldn’t find it either. I’m wondering if there was a separate one that the previous owners took with them? We’ve searched in cupboard, in the hall, all round the boiler. Bit miserable really. Thanks so much for replying.
@@johnpeacock1293 Hi guys, I had a similar issue i think, are you talking about the overflow for the Pressure Relief Valve which drains through to the exterior of the house? If so then all i did was change the PRV.
@@johnpeacock1293 As Cannons says this is a sign that the PRV is on the way out (or is already knackered!). It's the brass valve that the water is coming out of when you try to pressurise the system. You can replace the valve and it's just a case of removing the clips and replacing the valve. If you can get hold of the individual valve then you can get a filling loop set which has the PRV as part of it. You can pick this up for about £60 and it's usually a quick job to do. :-)
