Glycines are great. So underrated. And they catch a lot of flak for being merged with Invicta and a lot of misinformation around that. They still design their own watches, still make their cases out of their HQ. they share marketing, distribution etc. In regards to the movement, they used to use ETA movements but more recently they switched to Sellita. Not all of the materials on their website (which admittedly is pretty shitty) is up to date. And they are moving back to their old logo as well, thank god
Bangs the watches...oops sapphire crystal, No problem! Best reviewer on youtube. Straight forward, clear unpretentious. With watches the average Joe can actually afford.
That's a beautiful watch case. To me it needs a black or brown leather strap. Also I believe glycine was bought out by Invicta a few years ago. Thank you.
Have the 36 mm combat 6, with black dial and numerals on the org. metal bracelet...love it. It's has a surprisingly high quality feel...I wear it day to day next to my Rolex, Tudor's.
I really like it. I almost bought the black dial version a few years ago but I ended up getting a 40mm Hamilton H70595523. If the Glycine had been 40mm instead of 42mm I probably would have bought it. Nice review as usual. 👍
Being a white dial freak I can tell you that a white dial without a bezel or with a stainless steel bezel looks larger than they are to the eye. And yes Rob, you are absolutely right that a black outline around the handset would give greater visibility. Think Rolex Exp. II Polar.
Rob, I have recently picked up a couple of different models of these at really good prices off Drop (formerly Massdrop) and I am down for a Drop of one ☝️ right now actually, they always offer them in several variants & colours. When on Drop, they are always heavily reduced as well.
@@RandomRobReviews here is my current link to the current DROP RR FYI as they all have been in the $350 price range, I can look up previous purchases if you want more detail but I have choosen the standard black model on this DROP for a change: drop.com/buy/91515
Nice review. I have the dark brown dial version of this watch with the same white (green lume) hands. Very legible. I love it. I changed the strap for a bund style leather strap and I reused the original buckle. I also ordered a black Horween chromexcel leather strap for it. I think this watch has a crazy high value. I bought it for $279 . For this money it has domed sapphire, Sellita SW-200 movement, and awesome look (in my opinion) .
Perfect Watch for Desert Night Ops. HAHAA! Can Hardly see the hands, could be the camera, but the hands are hard to read? Great review, Black Texta on the hands. Unreal Show Randy.
Rob I have the same watch with the brown dowel version you can tell by the wing on the dial that that’s the new were version which is the Invicta the previous model that I have does have the 2824 at eight beats per second
Glycine offers a great bang for the buck. The one you reviewed here is a nice casual light duty watch, but I doubt it has ever seen combat. P.S. McMahon needs an intervention quick.
Sellita SW200, you can tell it apart from the ETA 2824-2 / 2824 because it has 26 jewels, instead of the ETA's 25 jewels (Don't hold that against ETA though!)
I have the Airman 1 Original 24 hour in beige and I have to sell it because I can't read it without reading glasses. From now in it is only dark dials with white hands for me.
Good review on a watch I've been wondering about. Funny thing, just after you mentioned the hands and whether they were very visible or not, at around the 6:30 mark you lay the watch down and it is almost impossible to see the hands at that angle. If they were framed in black they would have been much more visible. I know watches aren't designed for the table, but sometimes I do take off my watches and lay them down as I work. If I were to glance over at it, would I be able to read it at all? Just thought it was worth pointing out.
great Video... can you please tell us what is your wrist size.. and also how tall are you , i am 6'2 and would like to have an idea how it might look on my wrist , thanks...
Yes it's a sw200.this watch is after the invicta merger.after the invicta merger glycine went to selita cuz that's what the invicta group uses.before the merger they used the eta 2824.you can tell cuz the logo on your watch.the logo on this glycine is the new logo that glycine made after the company merged with invicta
Glycine was bought out by Invicta, I really hope they don't destroy the Glycine brand. They are well known to make ugly oversized blingy watches. (Invicta)
Ashford has them for $280 right now. Just ordered one. They only have the black version. If you stay on the site for awhile it'll pop up with additional 5% off. www.ashford.com/us/watches/glycine/combat/GL0123.pid?so=65&nid=cpg_
@Coming Soon yeah I don't know why they don't update the site. Honestly I don't really mind though. The SW200 is a great movement. Mine runs very consistently at +1.8 seconds per day.
