I bought the same watch but with the leather strap (GL0111 model) almost a year ago for less than $300. Love it in every way. Very accurate movement. Great look. Amazing value! I am really happy with it.
Tremendous value. If I did already have a Hamilton Khaki King and a just bought a blue dial Brietling 41 colt for Christmas. Love this Glycine, thank you for sharing this little gem.
The perfect everyday watch, the dimensions are perfect for my 7 1/2” wrist. I’ve got several new watches 40,42,43 and they fit my wrist also but this watch is lighter, slimmer and not a scratch magnet because of its smaller profile. I’ve had it for several months now and it’s my favorite and will be selling all the others and only keeping my dedicated work watch to get back to a simple 2 watch collection. Every since I started collecting I was trying to find that one perfect everyday watch and now that I have, all the rest mean nothing to me but money sitting in a drawer.
@@vipnetworker I bought it in an auction on ebay in the UK. It also has a gold bezel, crown and hands with a blue face. Model no 3916.383, really nice looking
Lovely watch. I have the black dial / black datewheel version but even so I wish they made a no-date version in this size, that would really nail the design.
@@strannostrannovasrr Thanks for the reply. I've looked at the Seiko 5s and the new DressKX; not quite what I was looking for. I want something a smidge more... premium... You wouldn't imagine the spirit of a watch like the Omega Aqua Terra or Rolex DateJust would be _this_ hard to replicate for $500-ish. Lord knows we have enough Submariner homages to fill ten watch boxes.
Nice. This is the exact model of Glycine I desire at the moment, but I am trying really hard to resist purchasing more watches! I have 1 Combat Sub and 1 Airman and they are both `keepers`, I rate them extremely highly for the prices I paid.
Got the silver White dial on brown alligator leather strap. Amazing value. Really sturdy, well built watch. Runs at +2 seconds a day and is versatile. I actually wear mine as a dress watch.
I'd go with the Glycine. Any good watchmaker can work on a Sellita movement. Not so with the new Hamilton ETA movements. The regulators are non-adjustable and laser regulated at the factory. A traditional watchmaker cannot adjust them.
Bartee98 this is true, but I think the Hamilton caliber will be robust and reliable. Yes it does suck you’d have to bring it back to Hamilton to service it though. But I love the 80 hrs power reserve, and the 38 vs 36mm case and also prefer the design.
