Here's a video on common oil leaks if the GM 3400 engine. When I looked at this 2007 Pontiac Torrent, I found a few leaks. In this video I also replaced the oil filter adapter gasket.

There is a distributor seal that was cast in the block that is dripping down the side of the block right side top of engine is another big leak! You have to take intake gasket off to replace this gasket

My 2004 buick rendezvous cxl 3.4l uses a different oil filter adapter with what looks like 2 cooler lines going into it and no bolts on the outside. It looks like the big nut inside holds the hole thing on but i can not find a video on it yet.

I HAVE A 2006 PONTIAC TORRENT 3400 V6 AND JUST GETTING IN TO ABOUT 2 MONTHS NOW I'VE NOTICED ENGINE OIL LEAK MY PASSENAGER SIDE CHASSIC FRAME IS WET WITH OIL, TOOK IT TO MY MEHANIC AND HE CANNOT FIND THE PROBLEM, MY MECHANIC FIXED THE BLOWN HEAD GASKETS BUT NOW HAVE OIL LEAK. NEW OIL FILTER ADAPTER GASKET IS INSTALLED I WAS THINKING THAT EITHER IT COULD BE MY BASEPAN OR THE FRONT MAIN BEAARING GASKET, OH I DID NOTICE THAT AS MY SUV WAS RUNNING IN IDLE I SAW OIL ON THE GROUND. BUT WHEN THE ENGINE IS OFF IT'S NOT DRIPPING.

The Dexcool is not a problem if you change the coolant at the right intervals. Any coolant will start to rust out the engine if you don’t change it. People just like to hate on Dexcool cause it’s a GM brand

See that's the problem, people don't maintain their cars. If you maintain the coolant and change it at the recommended intervals it won't gel up. The Torrent has 200,250 miles on it now and it's still kicking

My 2008 Torrent(3.4) front seal is leaking very badly, would i be able to get the pulley pressed back on if i did this seal myself?

There's no pulley to replace the oil filter adapter gasket.

@@autumnwarren9226 If me, i'd warm up engine so it's quite warm, then Break out the rags & wipe all areas from the bottom and upward as good as you can, restart torrent and crawl back under and watch where drips start trailing and showing themself. My guess is going to be one of the main seals..mine was the passenger side trans axle seal. Was like $6, but some labor getting to it, but very doable.

Seems to be a common leak with the 3100/3400 engines.
