Unless he turns out to be the second coming of Parsons and not Charles Harris, this was a reach and another terrible pick by Grier. But Im sure he will have no problem all of a sudden turning in great numbers, which he didnt do in college, against the top level of play in the world.

@@scott7621he was not a reach. Many of the “experts” had him top 20-25. He had great numbers as far as pressures etc. he was top 3 among edge rushers as far as his physical Metrics. Charles Harris was not ranked high at all.

@@williamcarr5090do you really not understand how football works? it’s called a rotation and keeping guys fresh while Chop develops , what if one of or both of those guys go down again? Specially come playoff time. You might not need to extend Chubb with a new contract now also. Pass rush/edge is a top tier prime position , right there with QB . It’s a game changing position .

It get an F from me unless he turns out to be the next JJ Watt, who Grier also screwed up in not drafting over another similar player he also fell in love with Charles Harris. He drafted a developmental player with serious boom or bust potential who will be 4th on the depth chart when starters we needed were on the board.

Grier has had 20+ years in this organization either scouting or drafting for this team. We have one playoff win in that time. How much more time do you suggest we give him to ruin this team? He already made the unforgivable sin of drafting Tua instead of Herbert.

You pick the “best player” that fit your system, not any best player available.

I’m a Penn state die hard and worked for the athletics department during Chops time in State College. He’s going to be great for you guys. Counting stats took a dip last year but he was consistently double teamed. Beyond that his advanced metrics (understand if those don’t matter to you) were top tier in division 1. Most importantly he’s just a good dude and he genuinely loves football.

No he isnt, he loves his pass rushers. Seeing as they havent extended Tua or drafted any protection around him tells me what they really think of Tua. They learned last year you can surround him with all the talent in the world and he still cant get it done against good teams or in the playoffs. So they probably figure, why waste a pick on OL to help protect him, lets go with the collection of bums we have. This pick is very telling.

@@MichaelDesire-nx5ue Ross is a big part of the problem too. He doesn't know the first thing about building a championship franchise. If he did, he would have fired Grier and did an actual rebuild a few years back instead of keeping the guy that has either been scouting or drafting for Miami for 20+ years. And where has that got us? 1 lousy playoff win.

@@scott7621 they must this year. Smith was a very important pick up for Tua as a safety blanket. The bills killed us with TEs in week 4. TE and QB win SUPERBOWLS. PERIOD.

When I heard that, Im like thats why they are the Champs. Instead of stupidly paying Tyreek, they trade him and get a boat load in return, then draft his replacement a few years later. That is why they are champs and we are chumps and will continue to be under Grier. KC playing chess while we play snakes and ladders.....

Sure lets trade up and reduce our already limited draft capital for a TE that we barely use in our offense. Shake your head....
