I recently bought this great GME PLB as a safety measure for our riding groups.
It is light and easy to carry in a backpack, simple to operate and has good long life in storage (Guaranteed 6 years)
The units are also inexpensive and work anywhere in the world with a view of the sky.
Definitely worth considering if you get off the beaten track.

Is there an annual subscription cost for it as well?

Hi there, No annual subscription, no. It is purely an emergency only beacon. Some of the GPS communication units require a subscription.

@@danssubscriptions An excellent deal. PLBs transmit to government operated satellites and therefore have no subscription fees. In Australia, rescues are coordinated by the Mission Control Center in Canberra. In the US, the US Air Force coordinates rescues, handing them off to the most appropriate local agency.
