I have memories of playing most of these maps with close people I will never speak to again. you probably do to that mix of nostalgia and sadness is really something.

I vividly remember spawning a bath tub in bigcity, flying all the way back to the skybox and then started sniping people with m9k in a sandbox server

I think Fishke is on another level when it comes to mapping and rp_NYCity is his magnum opus. The level of detail, the interactivity, the atmosphere, everything is so good!

I haven''t played Gmod in like 15 years. I only recognized 1, 2, and 3. Great memories. I feel very nostalgic.

GM Mobenix V3. Absolute classic that's huge and has great spaces for constructing, roleplay, or pretty much any gamemode.

One map i like a lot is gm_Boreas It has a lot of the cool 'secret military' vibe that Black Mesa east has in HL2

It’s bizarre how perfect gm_construct is. The workshop is full of amazing sandbox centered maps, but rarely get to the level of construct (gm_trainconstruct2 is the only I can think of)

I feel like Paralax deserves an honorable mention

gm genesis is also a good one, especially for messing around with vehicles. There's an underground racetrack/derby pit, a runway, and a moat around the whole thing for boats.

gm_fork was a classic and we can't forget the badass fight scene with godzilla on gm_fork

Most of these are just “Yay nostalgia makes these automatically great!”

Maybe you should try different variations of this best gmod maps list since we kinda all know these ones, it would be nice to see some New maps on here.

My most fond memory of gm_Bigcity is making giraffe Father Grigori

I tried out GM_Atomic recently, it’s probably one of my favorite maps, probably due to using the NCR veteran ranger PM and using a horde mod spawning Combine Soldiers, Shield Scanners, and Hunters

It’s perfect but gm_highway should’ve been on there

Good list overall, however I believe rp_NYCity deserves at least an honorable mention, if not a spot on the list. The map is huge, it's a faithful recreation to Y2K New York and it's vastly interactive. I've yet to see a map where you can interact with as many buildings, objects, etc. as rp_NYCity.

i would say i play in any of this map but i cant bc i never had the games since i dont have enough money for it xd i think it would be nice to play gmod for the first time but we can always dreem
